Excellent video. I agree and also recommend either replacing your thermostat with a genuine Honda part (best price is from a online Honda dealerships like Majestic Honda) or the part as shown in this video by a vendor named AISIN (RockAuto). You will pay more, but you only do the job once.
If you go to online sites that sell oem Honda parts, you’ll see that there’s a few OEM thermostats… ASIN and Nippon being 2 of them. Also if you check other install videos, the ASIN matches exactly the oem one they pull from the engine
Awe man. I have 2013 RDX 3.5L J series engine as well but on RockAuto it doesn't have the Aisin one. Only Motorad and Felpro.. I hear people recommend Motorad.. how do you feel about those other brands?
When it comes to thermostat OEM only. I have seen aftermarket not spec to oem and cause rough engine running issues and CEL. The slight difference in Temps even by a degree can throw off the computer
I purchased a thermostat from advanced auto parts and it does not have that jiggle valve, but there was some kind of rounded piece like that on the part, so that was where i lined up the gasket with. I hope i lined it on the correct side. The check engine light kept coming back stating bad thermostat. I really hope it wasnt a faulty part. It was a pain to replace it. No room at all. I hope its just bad ECT sensors. Fyi my cooling fan never came on unless the AC is on. Hopefully that p0128 code could be for the sensors as well. Though i know the sensors are supposed to have different codes. What do u suggest? Faulty part or should i replace the sensors? I did drained the coolant and bled out the air bubbles. Please help. I also tested the old thermostat with boiled water and the valve opened and it also closed when the water cool down.

remove battery, and bottom half of air box, then use 1/4" extensions to battery box area when removing t-stat housing
