Luke Laurie designing and Peter Vaughn publishing a game is probably an instant back.
Really love the production quality Cardboard Alchemy is putting out.
If you like Luke Laurie, you should check out The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire. It is a worker placement, tableau-building, and resource management game. Not as deep and fun as Dwellings, but still a good one.

I know people really like Dwellings of Elder Vale, but it didn’t exactly look like much to me. Andromeda, however, does.
So, I hope there’ll be some preview gameplay coming soon.

Very high praise, would be awesome to see some gameplay if you're able to. Personally I probably prefer the theme of Dwellings, but if it's too hard to get ahold of, this sounds like quite a bit of fun

It gets played the most and is a game that we can play with family and friends who aren't even necessarily gamers which is a plus because the vast majority of my collection is on the heavier side of things. Hard for it to not take the number one spot when it's the most played, requested, and enjoyed across the board. So. Many. Cards. And that nest box...

Looks very interesting. I went to look it up and realised I was already subscribed to the new Gamefound. Can't wait to see some playthroughs of the game.
Words cant express how excited I am about this. My only fear is that it would make me want to play one more than the other, and possibly, this one since its the follow up and likely improved. I love fantasy theme a lot and dont care much for space...so in a way, I might feel sad if I like this one more mechanically. Either way, im 100% getting it. Dwelling is my #1 all time fav game.
I’m glad you like Dwellings of Eldervale! It’s such a good game. This one is special but I think it’s different enough to not make you always pick it over Dwellings.
Not to worry, some factions will be fantasy themed. (wink!)

Love Luke Laurie’s designs. Dwellings is absolutely in my top 5 games. This looks phenomenal. There were two things I hated missing when I couldn’t make it to GeenCon was this game and running into you, Alex, and Jesse.
Such a fun game. Hopefully we'll see you the next time. Hope your daughter is acclimating well to school!

I'm intrigued, but also have ISS Vanguard coming in soon, so not sure how much more sci-fi my group can handle. 😄
I love DoE, but damn.. This game feels already such a good improvement from it (and it's only a prototype).
The target/reroll system, the new modular tableau, the events countdown system, the exclusive asymmetric ships are all such a great ideas.

I've never had a chance to playing Dwellings, so I've had my eye on this. It seems like something right up my alley!
Dwellings of Eldervale is my favorite game. It’s second printing is almost done and they will do a third, so I can’t wait for more people to have it!

Well done #cidervillan. As someone who tend to play a lot solo is this a viable game? I havent played a lot of these games but keep hearing good things. Dwellings and Lords of Ragnarok have both been mentioned. Thanks!
Hi Fredrik! Andromeda's Edge will build on the solo play in Dwellings, which is #1 for a few people. Here, Luke is planning 3 different levels of challenge, and different AI commanders, so that you'll have a big variety in your solo opponent. Also, we're looking at ways to add the AI to 2 player games as well - can't wait to share more with you on the Gamefound page!

Pretty excited about this one too! The theme catches me more then it predecessor.
Played Dwellings not so long ago. Liked it quite a bit, but the theme is less my thing.
Hope I might get a chance to play it Essen, but not sure if they will demo it there.

Can't justify owning both so looks like this, the spiritual successor, will replace DoE just like Gaia Project replaced Terra Mystica. At least I will probably have >1.5-2 years to play DoE before parting with it. Prefer the fantasy theme over space tho but apparently there will be dragons in AE.
On a side note, guess I won't be getting the Etsy stickers for DoE

I also have Terra Mystica. I have played it. I got Gaia Project, still haven't played it. I liked the idea that GP is a better 2-player game - and I know it is a better integrated game than TM, but still haven't played it yet. And for whatever reason, I like the idea of Terra Mystica better - the look, maybe - with the hex board. Even though, from an objective standpoint, Gaia Project is better in almost EVERY way.
I am getting similar vibes between these two games. I like the way the board of Dwellings looks better, from what I have seen so far - but the majority are saying that this will be "an improvement" over Dwellings gameplay-wise. As with Terra Mystica, I will probably have a place for Dwellings, regardless.
I don't know whether it is because I have played them first - or because they are both fantasy-themed - and maybe I just prefer the fantasy theme and find space to be such a dull theme that seems always the same, whereas there are lots of different monsters/creatures which can be used in a fantasy setting.
I don't know why, but as I said, these are the vibes which I am getting.
I’m going to be following this campaign closely. I’m very tempted by what I’ve seen so far… but I really need to getting everything for games so that I can have more games.

Do we know if that box size would be similar to the actual end product? If so, I love it is a very reasonable size :D
Not sure. I think Peter plans to make it way more accessible in size than Dwellings was.
Sounds interesting but hopefully it isn’t overproduced like dwellings. Dwellings is very expensive and that stopped me from getting. Hopefully Andromeda will be priced lower.
But that is what makes Dwellings so special - and epic! Seeing those miniature monsters on the board just makes it stand out!

It look's very interesting and promising. I don't own Dwellings of Eldervale and even hadn't chance to play but I've heard a lot of good things about this game.
I love both settings fantasy and sci-fi that's why I've backed Lords of Ragnarok which combine both themes ;P.
But I am rather worried that there won't be polish language version :(. I know that my country often is not a target for games like this but our board game market is still growing :).
Could you at least think about polish rulebook in pdf, please? 🙏🙃

Dwellings is from a different company. That's not likely.

That would be impossible. The games are from two different publishers.
Man the theme really kills games for me. Planets, moons and ships just don't do a lot for me. Maybe incorporate aliens or monsters to spice it up. Add some of that mysterious element to space. But we'll see how official gameplay looks
We have alien tech, don't worry. OOh, and factions like fungi and dragons, ion storms that chase you and much more theme to pour in. Hope you check out the campaign page!
@@pvaughan007 definitely! I mean the theme can catch the eye but it's the gameplay that really pulls you in. I missed the campaign for Dwellings but I got to play it a handful of times and really enjoyed it so definitely looking forward to the campaign! Plus I'm reading good things about the gameplay on Andromeda so I'm still excited for it
@@pvaughan007 I will add one more thing because unfortunately have seen this with every Dwellings of Eldervale game so far. Please if in Andromeda the player boards are going to be used as cover trays as well. Make the boards sturdier some how or maybe add a plastic cover to snap over because the sides of player boards in Eldervale seem to be tearing apart after a few uses because of the snapping into the trays.

Totally understand! There are some themes that don’t do it for me, as well.
We're going to add some dragons, if it helps. Come by the Gamefound at launch and you might see some fun surprises!
@@pvaughan007 Space Dragons?! Cool. I am not against the game. I just feel that between the 2 of them, Dwellings is epically special - particularly since it is hard to get - and it looks great on the table; it also has turn structure which is simple in comparison to games of relatively similar weight.

What is it like to play? What makes it worth playing, win or lose? Is it like sex or crochet?
It's like dragon crochet where each scarf you make burns you in a good way. And the process makes you hungry.
