They are a threat, but not militarily. They are a threat to the US because the people may start to wonder why the Russians and Chinese people have a better standard of living than the richest country in the world. I am not saying there are no poor in Russia or China but people can work 2 jobs in the US and still be unable to afford to live. Some people work and live out of their cars. North Korea spends all its money on defense and nothing on its people and they are called a third-world country, the US does the same and they are the richest country in the world.

@@championknife That's not what has been shown. The Abrams is an old piece of crap the US Army has been trying to ditch for 20 years for a better system (Marines already did; that's where Ukraine got theirs: the Marines clapped-them out and then gave them to Ukraine, lol) but corruption keeps it in production. That doesn't mean its inferior/superior to the T-90, as we've seen very few of any "modern" tanks in this war.
The only take-away we've learned about tanks in this war is that they are not effective, no matter the generation/price tag, when 17yo FPV drone pilots tweaking on Red Bull can take them out with an RPG-7 rocket duct-taped to an $800 drone. Well, unless you build a barn around it and turn a multi-milllion dollar tank into a mobile artillery/APC, at which point, why even use a tank? Here half the population knows there’s a war going on in Europe but they are so busy with their lives to pay attention to other countries. The other half of Americans wanna support Ukraine, Israel & Taiwan and some against it.

As for Russia screwing up, I disagree as JUST one look at American/EU production capacity (MIC) was never there from the start. Russia MIC works for the government where the USA/EU MIC works for their shareholders. SAM production in the West is tiny (Patriots 600-1000 yr) and same with Arty (28k/month) for the USA.
I agree Russia screwed up the first part not going HARD (150k troops at start) and expecting some dialogue from Ukraine/West but once bitten (Turkey), twice shy.
As for Russia being in debt again I disagree as the Chinese and Iran get trade in return for their products (wheat/oil/minerals/other for chips/drones/machine tools/etc) and BRICS is a independent of the USA dollar dominance.
The world (global south/Asia) is waking up to the fact that the USA lost it's way 30 years ago. JUST think if the USA would have spent their capital rebuilding your country between 1989 and 2024 with Road/Bridges/Electric Grids and STEM research (35 Trillion in debt). So, in the Ocheretino area, we are witnessing a repetition of the story of Popasna. Now there is nothing holding back Russia's progress in this direction. This explains the stopping of the front in the Hourly Yar. There is no point in wasting energy on two major breakthroughs at the same time. We need to wait until the Armed Forces of Ukraine begin to transfer everything they have towards Pokrovsk, and then resume the offensive in other places. What Willie did not say was about the breakthrough following the retreating APU to the outskirts of Arkhangelsk and about the movement in this direction from Keramik. This creates a danger of encircling the entire area between Arkhangelsk and Keramik. A similar situation is developing in Krasnohorivka, where a new breakthrough bypassing the city creates a danger of encirclement of those areas that remain under Ukrainian control. After the fall of Krasnogorovka, the story of Avdiivka may repeat itself. In this area, the AFU also has very few prepared lines of defense.
What can be said about the help from the USA. If you see your closet falling down and there is no way you can prevent it. You will try to save as many fragile things from this closet as possible and try to remove everything valuable from the place where it falls. That's exactly what the United States is doing. They already see how their project "Ukraine" will end. They see that investing money in this project is the same as investing money in a melted fireplace. But they cannot openly admit their fiasco. Even without talking about the catastrophic consequences of such recognition for the international status of the United States, they are approaching the elections. And this recognition would be a blow to everyone who took part in the Ukrainian action. They have already removed the grandmother of the ideological sponsor of the Maidan. Their military department is commanded by the one who led the flight from Afghanistan. They don't want to send Ukraine anything that gets stuck there. But what about the money? Simply put, let this money reach Ukraine when there is nothing left of Ukraine. No country, no problem.

During the summer offensive, we'll see. Further, Russian tanks are not even close to $2.5m. The export price of T90m is $4.5m, but for Russia you can consider the cost to be significantly lower. @@TheGreatAmphibian This is somewhat true historically, but I think most peoples understanding of how far diesel engines and drivetrains have come is pretty limited. I worked on 2700hp diesel electric off highway trucks. These had a 230tonne payload with a total weight of 408 tonnes. These trucks operate on unsealed roads, but they also operate of boggy ground that would get a 4x4 stuck and they do pretty well. They do sometimes get bogged, but these aren't tracked offroad vehicles either. They are also moved significant distances on public roads on the back of low-loader trailers by prime movers from workshops to mine sites. People have this crazy idea that we are still in ww2, where 60 tonnes is heavy and that engines are still 500hp and the manufacturing capacity of the 1940s. The average MBT weighs nearly as much as the Tiger II with 3 times the power. There is a fleet of US supercarriers being built. Your average super cruise ship is 200,000 tonnes. A tank in the 80 - 100 tonne weight class is actually not a big deal in the slightest in this era, except for logistical reasons. Do people know a D11 dozer weighs 110 tonnes?
