Thankfully I was a 90s teen so I didn't learn most of these bad habits. Although I do remember hearing from adults back then to let my skin breathe! All I had to learn with was magazines and books by makeup artists like Kevyn Aucoin. My pet hate is watching people drip product straight onto their face, especially if they let the dropper touch their face. The manufacturer made it that way to keep bacteria out so the formula stays effective!
My facialist (not sure that's a word) told me not to buy with the dropper because of bacteria. I told her I don't apply directly to my face, don't touch the dropper, and only I use it. All good. It's my pet hate, partly because of germs, partly because of waste - they use waaaay too much product! 🤦🏼♀️
Model here, check inside your pants to see if that faux pocket has fabric attached. The amount of times I’ve had stylists rip open what seemed like a faux pocket, only to find out they just come sewn together is ridiculous.
Honestly men's jeans are just made better, all my women's jeans start completely falling apart within a year and i can barely fit my fingers in the pockets my men's jeans are so comfy, after months there's not one hole, and i need to bend forward to reach the bottom of my pockets (and i by no means have short arms) let's just boycott women's jeans until they start making them better
The NYX silver shade acrually works pretty well when layered under taupe/light brown for light to medium/light white blonde hair(like neutral or platinum toned). My eyebrows are almost invisible since i was born platonum and have gone to a medium/dirty blond but my brows never darkened. Adding that silver in from NYX was a game changer!
I hate anything that says you can’t wear/use a certain product after a certain age. I keep getting an ad for some kind of “over 50” makeup & it’s so annoying. Also thank you for mentioning the “if you’re having a problem” bit at the end of the eyebrow discussion. So many makeup tips & advice don’t take into account people with alternative styles. We can get away with a lot more than people who dress more mainstream but some people act like these “rules” apply to everyone.
I think it's an ad for a reason. They're trying to sell you some stupid mlm stuff or some random makeup that doesn't do shit. I've seen those everywhere. And I also have a mom who's 50 and still does her makeup the way she's always used to. To be fair she only wears a pencil liner, a brow gel and a mascara in either black or blue.
Robert---HELP!!! I'm a 64 year old lady and have sensitive skin. My skin also has olive undertones... whenever I use sunscreen to my face, it burns. I've bought foundation with sunscreen in it, and still, it stings. I also have dry skin--- when I was your age, it was oily. It's been a nightmare to find anything that will work. I do thank you for being here. You have given such great advice. 💓
Did you try Bondi Sands fragrance free SPF 50 lotion body sunscreen 150ml? You can put it on the face and it's the same as the face version and you can get it in Europe. Other good one for the face, but more expensive is Garnier Ambre Solaire Super UV Anti-Dark Spots & Anti-Pollution Fluid SPF50+ 40ml. It's the same product as LA Roche Posay shaka fluid but cheaper.
I have sensitive skin and it’s easy to also damage my skin barrier if I use a product that is too harsh or gives me an allergic reaction then everything I use after burns my skin too so I can’t touch anything til my barrier heals idk if that is what’s going on with you though everyone is so different it’s hard to know without going to a dermatologist for advice possibly
Sometimes just applying less product in those areas will help a lot. Maybe try not bringing up the product right up to those areas and a very light coverage will help it not look so pronounced because the thicker the layer, the deeper the creases will become. Hope this helps! ♥️
Me as well , I have a fold not wrinkle under both my eyes and those suckers are a real pain in butt nothing absolutely nothing I’ve tried stops the horrible creases I get in that spot .
I do concealer before foundation because I just like doing it that way, granted I don't use very much concealer and I just address any blemishes and my under eyes (my concealer is the same shade as my foundation) and then I use my foundation which is a medium coverage on top.
OMG thank you for bringing up the SPF in makeup thing, as someone with a history of skin cancer, every time I hear 'oh my blotting powder has SPF in it :)' I want to grab and shake them so hard. Those compact tubes or pans of SPF powder aren't going to do SHIT. No, neither is your SPF primer nor setting spray nor foundation. Like YES, it can be tricky to re-apply sunscreen over makeup but it's doable!
You mentioning setting spray sparked a thought for me; how would spray on sunblock work over top makeup? Neutrogena and banana boat have a couple non greasy spray sunscreen and I now have an experiment I need to try ❤
@@theheartofthestoneI tried the Neutrogena one and it sadly wound up disturbing my makeup! But I'm chalking it up to the spray sunscreen and makeup products not playing well together. Just have to find the right combination. I've been using the dry sponge + sunscreen method over my makeup, that one took me a bit of experimentation too until I found a sunscreen that didn't horribly disturb my makeup haha.
Naked Sundays has a spray mist that is SPF 50 that won't disturb makeup. I lay down mineral sunscreen under makeup and then use the mist after my makeup has been applied.
Robert, btw the sunscreen stick is 50% off! I’m stocked up on spf for the rest of the year, but was curious. Not a bad price! I may get one solely for reapplication, it’s not a bad price, but I happen to be one of the few lucky ppl for whom the $1.25 Dollar Tree sunscreen works wonders. Can’t give up on that til I have to, but love the idea of carrying this to touch up, esp when I’m wearing makeup and working outside for hours! Even with a hat, I need extra sun protection as a splotchy pale older lady…
Thank you for actually demonstrating how to put sunscreen over makeup! I have heard reapplying sunscreen from everywhere but only you and Lab Muffin actually describe how to do it and you actually demonstrated it as well. I will be purchasing that HaruHaru stick immediately.
The crease repair vs prevent wisdom is exactly what I needed. I have very dry under eyes and even the most bougie powders emphasize it. I prefer not to powder my under eyes but everyone’s like “you MUST set your concealer with a powder to prevent creasing!” - so I do, and what I get is dryness AND creasing. I thought it was user error. Thank you for demystifying this for me
Oh my Robert your “blurred” effect eyeshadow is stunning! I’ve tried to achieve it but can’t get it right without blending away too much. Tutorial please 🩷
even during bad depressive episodes i somehow manage to wash my face once a day, and i believe it’s purely bc my mum taught me early on how important cleansing your face is, no matter what kind of products you had used during the day.
@@raineiyall-fawcett1818depression makes everything so much harder so i completely understand what you‘re talking about. i sometimes have to basically talk myself into washing my face for an hour before i actually get up to do it, and don’t manage to do other things at all. i even put micellar water and cotton pads next to my bed so i have the option of not having to actually leave my bed/room at all, maybe that could work for you too? hope you’re doing alright rn 🍀💕
Thank you, Robert, for the tip on corrector/concealer. I have the devils dark circles under my eyes and have never had any real success covering. I will try corrector/brightener first, then foundation & and concealer on top and report back on the results!!
Robert, I feel so sad when I see adolescents and even adults who really need to see a dermatologist. Back when I was much younger, I didn’t even wear foundations and I was getting persistent acne on my neck, strangely enough. I can’t tell you how important clear skin is for girls and boys during the teen years. You can spend hundreds of dollars on cleansers, masques, toners, exfoliants, Lord knows what else, to try and fix the acne. Finding a good dermatologist or General Practitioner can address the issue so much quicker and cheaper in the long run. Yes I agree we have better products now than decades ago when I struggled. All we had back that then was Clinique.
Omg...the Clinique toner! The only help a derm could give you was retin-a. I'm so thankful there are cute stickers now, and when I visited South Korea, I saw that lots of boys wore bb cream and thought what a relief that was to those boys that had acne!
I’m referring to Antibiotics. They can put a stop to the inflammation and help you start over with your cleansing routine. I’m really shocked that people didn’t get what I meant.
@@suzannesellers7383prescribing antibiotics for acne inflammation is why so many illnesses are growing resistant to antibiotics. We are putting it in our body and being over prescribedz
@@suzannesellers7383that's because antibiotics are only helpful for a couple of types of acne of it has got really inflamed. People would not think you would be talking about antibiotics if you're speaking of acne generally. When you talk about going to a dermatologist people will naturally think you mean acne specific medication which you can only get from a dermatologist and can come with nasty side effects. Your statement about cleansing is odd, acne is not caused by people not washing their face. I'm sure there are a few but acne can be largely genetic, and the bacteria for the worst types of acne spreads under the skin, so no amount of cleansing can help that. What normally happens is people wash their face too much with harsh cleansers which makes acne worse.
Using a puff/sponge with sunscreen sticks for reapplication is such a clever idea!! It might not give as good coverage but it will disturb the makeup a lot less which is what I struggle with
I actually never heard of the matching your brows to your roots thing! I dye my hair different colors and almost always try to match my hair, never thought about matching the roots..
I’ve tried using the lighter ash blonde color on my brows and I feel it makes me look older and washed out. I still prefer how I look in a darker color for my brows.
Robert is absolutely Stunning you can tell he takes care of himself i find him so attractive in every aspect he is so smart in the way of the humanity and honesty of how he speaks isn’t without a filter but yet he’s Totally Honest with a Real Answer to everything he speaks about That’s something you don’t find in people So that makes him Extremely Rare and Extremely Special ❤ Thank You Robert for being TRUE TO US👑💝🙏💐U R Awesome 👏
I always use a taupe/ashy color for my eyebrows - any hair color looks nice with taupe. I also love to go more crazy and I use eye pencils on my brows, but in darker flashy colors like forest green, purple, navy blue or dark reddish. There is no rule, imo. Just don't use pure jet black on your brows if you're not mediterranean/POC/tanned, bc it will look harsh and unnatural on paler skin tones - unless you are rocking the goth look! I have often colorful hair - currently dark blue. My roots are chestnut, I re-dye the roots in a darker color like blue black or dark purple, you get it. But I always use ashy/taupe on my brows most of the time, and flashy colors when I wanna be more creative.
@@jemmaswales8027 you're totally allowed to ! Lol. If it suits you well and is something you love, there is no rule! Black liner brows are awesome for a gothic-like look. It just looks horrible on my redhead fair skinned face lmao
Congratulations on the sponsorship!🎈🎊🎉 I haven’t heard of this brand of sunscreen but I like what I’m seeing! Easy to carry and reapply. Love the CORRECT tips and tricks! And the what not to do. My natural hair color is very dark brown. My skin is very fair with pink undertones. I have caramel lowlights throughout my hair as well. My brow hairs are pretty dark like my hair color. I try to go with the LIGHTEST shade of brown I can get away with while still having the brows look natural bc if I go with my real brow color and fill in it is very stark against my fair skin. It works bc of the caramel I have throughout my hair. Oh and I have dark blue eyes too lol the only nice thing is that if I choose to go with blonde I can pull it off with my skin and eye color. But I totally agree about the brows! I’ve listened to you talk in several videos about powder and ‘setting’ and I have taken your advice. I’m in my 50s with more mature skin and I use hardly any powder. I have normal to dry skin and powder will easily make my skin look drier and aged. I’ve also adopted the ‘less is more’ when it comes to foundation and concealer. I hardly wear concealer at all and foundation only where I need it. Thank you again for all your advice! Have a great day! Hugs! 💜 🖤
OMG everyone needs to watch this fully, as I always thought that my SPF in my foundation was enough SPF 😲 I've also never learnt so much in such a short time. Thank you so much Robert ❤🙏🏼
I think it’s @labmuffinbeautyscience that has a great video about spf in makeup products and talks about how you’d have to literally cake on layers and layers of the makeup to actually get that spf 30 or whatever that they claim. It was a huge eye opener for me when I watched it.
You only get the spf rating on a product if you apply approx 1/4tsp of it, which is fine for a nice sunscreen, but crazy looking for a foundation or powder. So you should have on sunscreen and any other products are giving you MORE sun protection, but you can't calculate how much sun protection it actually is. More is more.
You'd need to use an egregious amount of your foundation (enough to look incredibly cakey) to get anywhere near the rated spf the brand claims it gives.
@@rojo3779they're not putting it in because it's redundant, they're putting it in to attract people who don't know how sunscreen works, which is honestly most people.
Applying & reapplying sunscreen is the big one for me. I tend to always carry some sunscreen with me, lotion and stick forms. The other way I found to keep sunscreen on was by putting some in one of those refillable Korean-style foundation compacts with the face sponge. I don’t wear heavy makeup so not sure how well it would work in that case, but I found it worked great over lighter coverage makeup.
Absolutely loving your videos. Have learned a lot of practical advice, while having fun, very stress relieving. Adore your eye looks, especially when you go for the purples 💜.
A friend of mine and I got into a minor row about that whole 'skin breathe' thing last weekend. We were going to an event and she asked me to do her face (very light eyeshadow with a kiss of blush since those are the only products she owns). She admitted that she looked nice and that it wasn't 'too much'. But after the event, once she'd removed it, she started saying things like 'I couldn't wear what you or other makeup girlies do because my skin needs to breathe' and I flat out asked her 'Don't you think if makeup really suffocated the skin, the FDA would've shut down all the brands producing it since it would be a health hazard?' She had to admit that I had a point. I also pointed out that makeup in the last 30 years is soooo much more skin friendly than its origins of colored grease paints and waxes. I also pointed out that most of the makeup being worn these days sometimes has more skin boosting and nourishing ingredients than some actual skin care lines. Also that as you've said, when I do wear makeup, I'm more thorough with my removal and skin care before/after than days where I don't wear it. I even asked her 'I wear makeup all the time. Is my skin full of pimples? Is it dying?' I'm older than she is but look younger than my age. Again, she had to concede the point. I asked her where she got that idea about skin not breathing and she admitted...it was from older male friends that she hung out with. These mofos don't even WEAR makeup so how are they having a say about it like they're the least bit informed?!?! In short, folks...don't take advice from f*ckers who don't even use what you are interested in.
Love HARUHARU WONDER the yellow tube sunscreen is my absolute favorite bc of the satin finish it doubles as a moisturizer and a primer 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 and the cleansing oil … I been wanting g to try this new one!!!!
Thank you for this. The creasing under my eye & the little wrinkles have been driving me crazy for a while now & nothing I did helped. The setting powders make it worse.
I learnt all my current make up techniques and skincare from your channel. My routine is the best it's been for me ever and I'm so thankful for ur channel 😊😊🙏🙏
It was a while ago when you talked about the best way to use concealer. I listened and started using concealer after foundation and never looked back! Thank you
I didnt start wearing sunscreen until i started getting tattooed. I want to preserve my ink but not my skin??? Make it make sense lol but better late than never 😂❤
3:04 I rarely ever used concealer in my life cuz color wise foundation does ALL THE WORK for me. It’s always been that way and hearing about people using concealer sometimes makes me feel grateful
I have tried 3 more sunscreens just this year, I have yet to find one that doesn’t irritate my eyes within just a few minutes. If I put it any further from my eyes then it’ll be only on my neck and ears.
THANK YOU for the concealer touch-up tip!!! I don’t bake but I do tend to add “extra” powder under my eyes because it feels unfinished without it.. but if using only bit of powder gives me the ability to use a finger to fix creasing, I will make myself get used to it! Lol
These were allll such good tips. Sometimes it is annoying as a MUA to work with other MUA’s and my client is watching them pack on the powder and then ask me to do the same….like….you do not need to bake a damn cake on your face for your makeup to last.
Such good advice about brow colour, i'm a natural auburn red colour but my brows are ashy and light, looks so much more natural having light ashy brows than a dark red colour like my hair! All good advice 🫅🏻
Thank you for the eyebrow tip! I have always had blonde eyebrows, you cannot see them at all unless I wear make-up on them. I really hate the blocky look of eyebrows, since mine are so fine I really have to watch out and not over do it. Also, I learned from you about the SPF. I always add extra now! Thanks, Robert!!
Appreciate you going over the basics of foundation and concealer. I couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong when my color corrector wasn’t working as well as they do for people online! Now I know it’s meant to be a tint
These are fantastic! Thank you! I hate setting with powder under the eyes, but I see the creases and believed that was the solution...NO. You're right! It still creases and looks worse when you try to fix it. I'll be keeping my powder to my t-zone from now on! :) Also, that sunscreen looks fab. I may have to try it out! Have you heard of pro MUA Scott Barnes using spray sunscreen in place of a makeup setting spray?
I have a Haru Hari Wonder toner and it’s great for sensitive or dry skin. It’s less watery and feels slightly thicker, which after you apply feels like you can cover your whole face easily and it keeps it feeling hydrated. Would definitely recommend for people with soft, dry, irritated or sensitive skin
I've always been so frustrated by people talking about powders stopping you from creasing. This has never ever worked for me and I always felt like I was doing something wrong, so thank you
Ugh the “let your skin breathe.” Gets on my nerves! Aesthetician here! We learn that when your makeup is non-comedogenic and doesn’t cause problems for you skin, you SHOULD be using it a lot! Makeup is GREAT for your skin. It helps keep out environmental factors and other fine dusts and smoke.
Regarding the question of your video, dear Robert, one bad makeup can be taken from my personal experience: in my teen years I used to think that brown smokey eye was the only look that suited me, so I wore it for 15 years. After 30 I discovered colorful makeup which cheers me up and also the simple liners look. Guess I did not know how to experiment with looks growing up with no social media and having hooded small eyes, but I am glad that I found your channel which has such an educational dimension.
Definitely buying that sunscreen right now! I bought the haruharu cleanser and I am in love with it. I have sensitive, combination skin and it’s seriously the most gentle cleanser I’ve ever used!
So what I've gleaned is to unlearn anything I've seen and heard on the internet about makeup over the years because it might not be the best or most efficient way to do my makeup. Odds are that what is practiced and what is actually practical are different. Thanks Robert! I just wish I would have found your channel years ago.
I found this brand when I was getting the ipsy bag and it's AMAZING. It was my first time dip into Korean skincare ( I got a lip balm) during winter and it worked miracles! I have since used the rice toner that has transformed my skin.
I do appreciate what you said about eyebrows, even if the root does not match the rest of your hair, but I have bubblegum pink hair. I use pink mascara and eyeshadow to color my eyebrows because they are very dark. If I plan on coloring my lashes and my hair, I find it's not a good look to leave them dark: it's too distracting. If I were to go back to my natural hair, in which I wouldn't have a reason to color my eyebrows or lashes anymore, I probably would follow your advice. But until that day comes, I hear you, and I still love my pink eyebrows!
Love this although I did see a Wayne Goss video about eliminating creasing under the eyes (moisturizing is key) that incorporated powder at the end and it did wonders for me. I no longer worry even a second about under eye creases. I wouldn’t attempt it elsewhere on my face so as a general rule you’re right on. Love you lover 😘
Yesss. I relate to the skin care/makeup thing, I was horrible at keeping my skincare routine until I wore makeup DAILY, now I will do my skincare even if I'm blackout drunk. The brow part through, I'm guilty, my eyebrows are invisible so I use an ashy brown color to fill them in completely but I use a little pen that I can make hair strokes with
Watching your videos really makes me realize how outdated my school is at this point. It was outdated 10 years ago when i went to school for mua but now its worse so many bad habits ive had to relearn techniques thanks to CZcams to keep me up to date
Dear Robert, I usually agree with you 100% ( and I watch all your videos) but I will probably continue to use my concealer under my foundation. That’s how I started when I was 60 and 15 years later it’s still working for me. I have fair skin and using a little bit before foundation is more complimentary and doesn’t look as obvious as when I put it on top. I use many products and practice good skincare but use a light hand. As you age less is more because makeup can emphasize the signs of aging.. Don’t get me wrong- aging is a gift not given to all but it requires a different approach when changes come. I know I am significantly older than your demographic but still enjoy and learn from your videos. After all, you often say “You do you.” ❤
personally I wouldn't regularly use a sunscreen stick as it can be difficult to get sufficient coverage e.g. you need at least 4 swipes per area and it's easy to miss spots.
I absolutely hate that a lot of concealers that are "matched" to a foundation shade are lighter than the foundation itself. I don't use concealer for highlight, I use it to... conceal blemishes... But if I use concealer on top of foundation, it looks ashy and obvious. I wish more brands would actually match their concealer and foundation shades properly instead of assume everyone wants to highlight.
YES! I noticed when I was a younger adult with oily/acne prone skin, I had better skin when I regularly wore makeup. Because I had a better skincare routine on days I wore makeup! I didn't wash my face on days I didn't plan to wear makeup. It's just habit.
There's an old idea that, if you completely cover your skin in paint or whatever, you will literally suffocate. There's an old James Bond movie where a girl dies of being completely covered in gold body paint. This is nonsense, we've known it's nonsense for awhile... Just, no.
😂 I could see how that might have been a belief, wasn't all that long ago that germs were just considered to just be a theory. Mythbusters (shows my age, lol) actually tested being covered in gold paint and it was caused Jamie's body temperature to rise. Thing with that is people are different and it could be a mild sensitivity or mild allergy to something in the paint, high blood pressure, the fact he couldn't really 'cool down' normally like someone would be able to that wasn't covered in stuff, etc.
On James Bond it was because they painted her with a paint which didn’t actually let her skin breathe. Just like Robert said - none of her skin could “breathe” and so her body temperature rose and she almost suffocated from heatstroke. They basically covered her in plastic.
With the comment about doing concealer last, I'm curious what you'd think about my "base makeup". I'm using concealer for highlighting & lightly around the eyes and liquid contour first, then just fill in the rest with foundation. It's become my way of doing light, natural makeup.
I love using concealer before foundation because it doesnt leave me with random bright spots etc It depends on where and how you apply it because sometimes ill do it first and sometimes i wont.

It's my pet hate, partly because of germs, partly because of waste - they use waaaay too much product! 🤦🏼♀️
“Fits in my trouser pocket”…must be nice to have pants with real pockets😩
😭 the struggle is real... I'm just so grateful when there's any pocket at all, maybe I can put a single Skittle in there... 🥲
Model here, check inside your pants to see if that faux pocket has fabric attached. The amount of times I’ve had stylists rip open what seemed like a faux pocket, only to find out they just come sewn together is ridiculous.
Honestly men's jeans are just made better, all my women's jeans start completely falling apart within a year and i can barely fit my fingers in the pockets
my men's jeans are so comfy, after months there's not one hole, and i need to bend forward to reach the bottom of my pockets (and i by no means have short arms)
let's just boycott women's jeans until they start making them better
"My knees are breathing" sounds cursed out of context
Sounds like a line you'd hear from an Analog horror
I’m here for it. “My back’s breathing. My knees are breathing.” This is my new mantra.
shrooms lol!
😂
NYX now makes charcoal and grey shades in their brow products (micro pencil and precision brow automatic pencil) for our silver foxes :)
I love a sponsorship where the product is actually relevant and you can tell that you actually use and enjoy the product!
I love how you and James post at the same time. And the twins' channel too. It allows us to have a proper binge 😊
Love a good binge on these 2!
Look out for mineral sunscreen!
ClearSTEM makes a mineral sunscreen called "You are sunshine" and it has a slight tint, and TONS of skin loving benefits.
The under eye creases are currently my biggest makeup issue. I’m going to listen to your great advice thank you! Happy Sunday Robert 💜
💜💜💜💜 I do concealer before foundation, but that's because my concealer is a cream and my foundation is a powder.😊😊
Same
Yep this was me before my skin changed texture and now I’m all creams. Trying to correct this habit from years of powder.
@@a.r.mproductions5616 I would love to do all creams, as I have mature skin. However, combination skin and cystic acne won't let me.🙄🤷♀️
I do concealer before foundation because I just like doing it that way, granted I don't use very much concealer and I just address any blemishes and my under eyes (my concealer is the same shade as my foundation) and then I use my foundation which is a medium coverage on top.
Me too! Wouldn’t work the other way round with powder foundation 🥰
Absolutely agree for the same reason!! Can always tell the people who haven't experienced sun related skin issues........yet.
@@isaacclarke9554 oh cool! What's your combo?
Thank you for demystifying this for me
Thank you, brilliant advice. I’ve stopped contouring my cheeks, it was making things look worse, I find with make up, less is more for me 🖤
I do use sunscreen but not consistently enough. Always appreciate a good recommendation for one that works under makeup 🖤🖤🖤
It's hard to remember to put a bit even in days when it's not sunny too 😅
Oh my Robert your “blurred” effect eyeshadow is stunning!
Ugh. I wish I could say the same. When I’m in a very depressed state, I sleep for days and my skin suffers. 😢
Seeing you apply the sunscreen stick over your makeup sold me! Going to check out this brand now, ty Robert!
Thank you, Robert, for the tip on corrector/concealer. I have the devils dark circles under my eyes and have never had any real success covering. I will try corrector/brightener first, then foundation & and concealer on top and report back on the results!!
Yes! Another teaching video! I love these! Thank you so much, Robert! You make me look forward to Sundays! 🩷
Though the medication commonly used for acne can have terrible side effects (Roaccutane)
It might not give as good coverage but it will disturb the makeup a lot less which is what I struggle with
Oh Robert...."My knees are breathing" Lol. Now that needs to go on a t-shirt.
I imagined googley eyes and a smiley mouth on knees at this! 😂
I do my eyebrows in black eyeliner 😮💀
@@jemmaswales8027 you're totally allowed to ! Lol. If it suits you well and is something you love, there is no rule! Black liner brows are awesome for a gothic-like look. It just looks horrible on my redhead fair skinned face lmao
Thank you for the advice about powder under the eye... I keep looking crazy. Next week, going powder-less!
They came at a great time. Especially the crease tip. I have an event next weekend and I wear a full face. That will come in handy. Thank you ❤
I just purchased a Haru Haru spray toner and it’s very nice. Lovely price, too. I don’t know if you know but Haru Haru means day by day in Korean.
Hugs! 💜 🖤
I tell myself that “Im letting my skin breathe “ on days that I’m too lazy to do makeup or skincare 🤣😭!
He is being sponsored by an spf product…… why would they put spf in a product if it was redundant ? However, more spf is better than none.
Sending you love for the algorithm🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
A friend of mine and I got into a minor row about that whole 'skin breathe' thing last weekend. We were going to an event and she asked me to do her face (very light eyeshadow with a kiss of blush since those are the only products she owns). She admitted that she looked nice and that it wasn't 'too much'.
But after the event, once she'd removed it, she started saying things like 'I couldn't wear what you or other makeup girlies do because my skin needs to breathe' and I flat out asked her 'Don't you think if makeup really suffocated the skin, the FDA would've shut down all the brands producing it since it would be a health hazard?'
She had to admit that I had a point.
Make it make sense lol but better late than never 😂❤
"Your skin is going to crease. I'm sor surry." I really needed to hear that with my 40s skin! 🥰
I love this, I’ve been wondering how I could reapply spf over make up properly! Thank you Robert, great video as always 🖤💜🖤
3:04 I rarely ever used concealer in my life cuz color wise foundation does ALL THE WORK for me. It’s always been that way and hearing about people using concealer sometimes makes me feel grateful
Happy Sunday!
I have tried 3 more sunscreens just this year, I have yet to find one that doesn’t irritate my eyes within just a few minutes. If I put it any further from my eyes then it’ll be only on my neck and ears.
Try baby sunscreen! Its usually super gentle.
may I inquire what sunscreens you have tried out?
Ugh! I have always put concealer on before foundation! Thanks Robert...can't wait to do it the right way! 😂🖤💜
Yes, to the eyebrows! I have fine, light eyebrows- I always use two different colors to make them look as natural as possible.
This has never ever worked for me and I always felt like I was doing something wrong, so thank you
I feel like I learned so much with this video! Thank you so much!! 💗
So many Robert videos this weekend!! Thank you!!
Someone told me they need to let their nails breathe, I told them their nails don't have lungs 🙄
😂😂😂
😅
while yes, it’s important to take care of your natural nails, they won’t fall off if you wear nail polish/extensions 😭
Crying 🤣🤣🤣
I think if they were talking about extensions or gel manicures, they were probably talking about not having their nails drilled down every two weeks.
Thank you once again for promoting REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS of makeup’s capabilities!
The brow part through, I'm guilty, my eyebrows are invisible so I use an ashy brown color to fill them in completely but I use a little pen that I can make hair strokes with
Robert, I absolutely LOVE your videos! I love the knowledge you impart and as a skincare and makeup lover, I’m still constantly learning from you!
After all, you often say “You do you.” ❤
I really don’t like how much blush people are using now. It’s really getting out of hand. Not a fan.
Haruharu Wonder ❤ The Black Bamboo Mist is one of my must-have skincare items!
personally I wouldn't regularly use a sunscreen stick as it can be difficult to get sufficient coverage e.g. you need at least 4 swipes per area and it's easy to miss spots.
I'm going to have to try this sunscreen. I like that it doesn't look messy.
Thank you for talking about the creasing!
Absolutely sun screen is key !! Love your videos 😊
Lolllll the face after "doing some proper exercise" 😂😂💯💯 we're the same age and I feel the same way🤣 you look amazing as always!
I love Haru Haru Wonder's Black Rice toner. I'm interested in this Sun shield.
Yes! (can't think what else to say and algorithm etc 😃)
I ♥️♥️♥️ that you ♥️♥️♥️ @HaruHaruwonder! They are all I use, and my skin loves it too!
Just, no.
As if we can’t just breathe through those other things.. what are they called? Lungs? 🤔🤣🤣🤣 so silly.
Wow, super guilty of concealer first. I just thought it all blended better that way? Going to try foundation first tomorrow!
Omgsh I didn’t know I could reapply sunscreen over my makeup.. wow that’s great! Thank you 🙏
With the comment about doing concealer last, I'm curious what you'd think about my "base makeup". I'm using concealer for highlighting & lightly around the eyes and liquid contour first, then just fill in the rest with foundation. It's become my way of doing light, natural makeup.
Love haruharu!!!! So glad you have a sponsorship with them!!!❤❤❤
My knees are breathing 😂… I laughed harder than I should have.
I love using concealer before foundation because it doesnt leave me with random bright spots etc
It depends on where and how you apply it because sometimes ill do it first and sometimes i wont.
The only way I could re-apply an SPF over my make-up is if it was in the style of a clear setting spray.
Aaah, my favorite beauty youtuber BERT ELSH
