For example 1:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 3:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation

In diode mode you don't measure the resistance. You measure the voltage drops between 2 points in a circuit.

Usually 300-320℃ with iron PCB holder. Actually, it also related to material of PCB holder and the height.

Could you please explain, why did you replace the A9 CPU? As far as I know, in order to change SN and IMEI, you only need to replace NAND Flash, BB CPU, and BB Flash (EEPROM)
For iPhone 5s, we do not need to replace the CPU, but from iPhone 6 series, CPU is encrypted with BB CPU.

2. The SN will be changed, because we need to replace NAND flash.
3. If you choose to replace the whole motherboard, you need to replace the home button at the same time, otherwise you will lose the fingerprint function of the home button.

Do you need to use all of the same parts from the same motherboard or can each part be from different iPhone/obtained separately. If all of the components need to be from the same motherboard wouldn't it make more sense just to replace the motherboard than which could be done in a matter of minutes and without any of the tools.

Hello REWA I know this is an old video but I was wondering if you could answer my question,
I'm wondering why you need to apply solder paste on the CPU side of the CPU chip (where the ram connects) because you also reballed the RAM chip so wouldn't it connect to the CPU properly only if the RAM side was reballed? I've been trying to do this step but I have a hard time because once I am done cleaning the glue from CPU side of CPU chip and I scrape solder paste on it, once I heat it it makes bridges everywhere, in your video the person just applied solder paste, wiped it softly and no bridges at all, perfect job, but I dont understand how ):
Thanks for the comment. You might apply too much solder paste. Practice more on some abandoned boards and you can make it perfect. 🙂

@@scubador I am honestly not sure but I'm going to guess that all of those chips have some sort of unique identifiers on them. The baseband chips are what actually talk to the cellular network do one of them holds the imei number. The CPU its self is a proprietary chip that only apple and from what I know about apple's it probably has some sort of unique identifier as well or is necessary due to some sort of hardware pairing like with the home button. I could be totally wrong how ever.

My only question was, if you are getting the chips from a good non icloud board to swap it on icloud board, then what is the purpose? I am guessing the good logic board is damaged or has bad touch or display IC? I didn't get the purpose since icloud was only bypassed by getting bga chips from one working clean title and moving it to swap it out on an icloud board to make the icloud board work that was originally iclouded and locked. Defeats the purpose. If you can show me how to unlock an icloud by replacing the chips without having to use a perfectly good board to take the chips off, reball them just to use it on an icloud than I would give you thumbs up for a practical solution. Great work and video overall except it defeats the purpose of bypass if you're destroying another good non cloud board to make the icloud board function lol.
Absolutely. I’ve been sat here wondering what the point was. They destroyed a working phone by swapping over to a non working phone. End result…still got only one working phone! I rather hoped they’d be able to remove the locked chips, reprogram and reinstall to the locked board. One day maybe it will possible…only with Apple’s help I fear and that doesn’t look promising

Hello. What is the temperature for the heat gun when you taking the 5 chips down?
We usually apply 320℃ ~ 340℃ for iPhone repair with our repair tools.
The temperature is related to the brand of hot air gun, diameter of nozzle, material of PCB holder and environment temperature etc., so the given temperature is for reference only. If you are using different tools with us, you can try to practice with the dead or donor boards to find the most suitable temperature.

Nice question. It is not cost-effective to swap the whole motherboard. We just need to replace the A9 CPU, BB CPU, BB EEPROM and NAND flash in the motherboard. So this motherboard can be damaged or used, which is cheaper than a new one.

Mosa Moghadam taking good chips off of a crap board and replacing the chips on a good board with scrap chips. All the info that iCloud needs and is encoded is held in separate physical sections locked to the chipset. An iCloud locked/activated chipset is absolutely useless and only worth practicing bga with or testing boards and screens.

Only NAND Flash and EEPROM can be programmed at present, and when program these two chips, you must write the original data that mate with the CPU and BB to the new chips. Therefore, 4 chips from the same motherboard are still necessary.

So just replace the logic board? The only real useful thing from this is being able to desolder and replace the NAND with a larger capacity.
donor board could had lost touch id so by using components from it you can restore iCloud on a different board. Thats the only case I can see this makes sense to do otherwise just replace board lol. This procedure could also include an storage upgrade but I dont know much on that. Still learning iphone repair.
