However many are upset believing we are playing dress up with a baby animal pet. For those of you who are new, I am a wildlife rehabber and I specialize in beavers. Beavers are some of the most difficult, expensive and labor intensive animals to care for. Beavers are classified as a nuisance animal in my state of Mississippi. This means that they are killed on site, any time and any day of the year. After giving birth moms and dads head out of the lodge to forage for extra food for the kits. This can happen in daytime. This means they are more visible and killing them is easier. The orphaned infants will starve and die. Sometimes they wander out of the den looking for mom and dad. Sometimes a kind human finds them and takes them to a rehabber. This video is Tulip. Poor tulips parents were killed. She became very ill with pneumonia, bumble foot and then a horrible skin infection due to her immune system issues. She should have died. An army of us worked day and night to save her. The shirts protected her fragile skin and helped the medication absorb. The bananas were vet ordered to help her get her tiny sick body calories and nutrients. Today tulip is 1.5 years old and although stunted in growth with thin fur on her back she is thriving! She lives on our beaver sanctuary. We love beavers and will never stop fighting for them.

Tulip had a poor immune system when she was a child, which caused her skin to be infected by the bacteria in the soil. The medicine was applied and she wore the clothes to protect her skin, now she has recovered, this is an old video from her childhood!

How can beavers be a nuisance? Why would anyone kill such beautiful animals is beyond me. Thank you for saving this precious baby and all the others. May they always have enough bananas. I did tear up when she had to put the onesie on but I also saw right away it was to help her fur condition. She is adorable!
Unfortunately, their pelts were valued as a very expensive commodity for their water repellent ability. In the late 1800rds they were the choice for hats worn by the affluent as well as those who could afford them.

Because beavers will eat/chew down any tree to build their dams. Also beavers can grow to over 3-4 feet tall when they stand on their hind legs. Beavers can destroy the natural ecology of an area. Also their fur pelts were extremely valuable in the hat and garment industries (back in the day)...
@@tiwantiwaabibiman2603 In France beaver are protected i think. But not muskrat and myocastor (a type of beavers) who are very invasiv. I founded some when I hicked.

I'm not sure bananas are normal food for beavers seem tropical. Maybe try normalizing food to nature.

Rubbish. Bananas are absolutely for many animals and birds. It’s not their full diet.
Actually, if you do your homework, you will absolutely rest assured and KNOW that they are given an extremely healthy and appropriate diet. And provided with attention, affection, love, a protected habitat, medical care AND a wonderful diet. You CAN know. Lol

Thank you for everything you do. Beavers are crucial for the ecosystem. They create important wetlands that save other animals and vegetation during wildfires. They even help farmers! It is beyond me that anyone would consider them a nuisance - humans are the nuisance for destroying our planet!

I love how babies of so many species have in common with our babies. Yes, most of them mammalian, but not all. (Think ostrich and/or flamingo babies. Others, too.). So many go through the Terrible Twos, the gracelessness, the Feed Me, Seymour!, the need to vocalize, the innocence. So adorable.

What a heroic task to rehab wild animals, not easy. Poor thing. So cruel to kill the parents. We need to stop doing that. These videos give us awareness of the sad stories behind any beaver death. He has his own routine and loves to cuddle. He loves Sorghum, broccoli, walnuts, banana chips, and carrots. But he doesn't stay on a regular schedule so
I have to check on him every couple hours because he is starting to eat on his own. I think he's spoiled, but I love him, so whatever he wants he gets. I have
plans to make him a climbing playground with tubing, whenever he's ready. Your little feller, Tulip is so huggable and I love that you put on that shirt, she may
not do well in the wild, I don't know her future but thank you for your loving kindness. People have their weird opinion because they've never done what you
do. The relationship you have with a wild animal is very unique and no two are alike. Tulip is your friend and she needs you. Logan, my baby lost his
brother "Riley" and I cried a lot, Logan was squeaking loudly to let me know Riley wasn't right. He had neurological problems and his back legs didn't work
well, I think his mama threw out both of them OR maybe they went to explore and got lost. Thank you for your sweetness towards Tulip, she seems happy.

Beavers are wonderful, highly skilled, complex animals. It breaks my heart that they're murdered. I understand they are being used for conservation in areas where water is scarce. It must be incredibly disorienting to be removed from her habitat. She is so dear. Thank you for your tender care and love. Glad she has a chance.

Fortunately, Holley is a biologist and she managed to gather a team of veterinarians and other scientists to figure out what was happening with Tulip, and how to treat her. And of course, Holley and her family gave Tulip the very best care and so, so much love! It took a long time for Tulip to get all better, but as you can see, she is a very feisty and determined little beaver. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Tulip - it's a very happy place! ♥️ 🌷🦫 ♥️

Poor Tulip was left without his Mom and Dad. But thanks to this wonderful people, Tulip seems to be getting better and better. He is so adorable and precious little guy, very beautiful indeed.
