    -----------------
After years of failure, is there any hope for Beyblade Burst from Hasbro? This video was made for the pure reason that years of getting Burst from Hasbro their greed has shown. Along with the lack of respect to the community has been abundant. Don't give me any garbage of "it's meant for kids" enough is enough for excuses.
Don't care anymore not afraid to speak my mind on this, I prefer this than to ever sellout.

This reminds me of Honkai vs Genshin, genshin makes more money, but honkai is the favorite child. An example of this was their anniversary where you only got chicken. Meanwhile honkai's anniversary included free pulls and special events to keep the playerbase satisfied. Not just that, honkai also gives new players a chance to progress thru the game fast because they love the newbies. Dont even get me started on the genshin twitter fanbase, honkai is just chilling watching all of it unfold lmao.

When I was a kid during the plastic gen era, i didn’t know that takara and hasbro made different products. I just assumed they all came from the same place. As an adult recollecting, it’s clear the same quality assurance that went into the plastic gen and metal gen meeting the standards of Takara’s releases are long gone. Even 20 years ago, Sono Kong was considered the “lesser version” of plastic beyblades. But even they were quality and actually mirrored the gimmicks and designs of the real thing.
    This just makes me sad.

Figured, I only grew with MFB and they were 1:1 sometimes better than TT in terms of what they released, Burst is a different story which sucks.

    • @TheUltimateRaven_XT
      @TheUltimateRaven_XT Před 2 lety +6

You will be surprised when i tell you that only the Hasbro's quality of build was on par with TT, the assembly between parts was bad for Hasbro. The Engine gears would break down after certain use, and the attack ring would fit loose on spin gear after some time. Hasbro plastic gen were the actual pre-curser to burst 😂. The worst part is they screwed up on certain G-Revolution releases like Zeus, Gigars, Metal Driger by giving them engine gear even though they had special gimmicks.

Hasbro has no excuses for not giving the beys the gimmicks. They did the gimmicks for single layer to evolution. Why not give the gimmicks to turbo and up? I really hope, if I have any left, that QuadDrive will be better than turbo rise and surge. If not, I will completely stop collecting mainline beys and only collect pro series if they’re even worth buying. Hasbro needs to fix this. Another big problem I feel with Hasbro that isn’t mentioned in the video is how these products in the dub are kinda falsely advertised. You’ll see the TT gimmicks in the anime and then when you get the actual Hasbro version it’s missing the gimmick shown in the anime. Good example would be how in Turbo Crash Roktavor’s stamina wings were shown in action while Roktavor R4 in reality had the wings fused to the layer. Sometimes they’ll even make some dumb change to the script to mask the changes like in Surge calling World Spriggan’s Free spin mode on the 2B chassis it’s “Free Spinning Bits and Pieces”. They’ll make awkward cuts sometimes to even avoid showing stuff like GT layer weights but even this isn’t consistent as even though they think they are smart hiding the TT system gimmicks, they don’t edit out the Bey’s actual individual gimmicks half the time. Kids when they see and hear mentions of gimmicks of their favorite Beys in the anime might wanna go out and buy it and then be disappointed when the thing that made them so cool and unique and was basically advertised to them in the show itself isn’t even there. Kids are smarter than these companies think and some of them will notice that they have been bamboozled by Hasbro

I personally just think that hasbro has so many products outside of beyblade that they have to pick which franchises and product lines to REALLY pour their energy into. Therefore, they cherrypick the product lines they want to put actual effort in based on how well they sell. Nerf and transformers (ngl I just picked that at random lol), for example, are the "favorite children" so to speak because they are one of Hasbro's most iconic and well loved products so they are of course willing to put in the hard work to make sure that as many of them are up to par as possible. All in all, I guess this is a long winded way of saying Hasbro's just picking favorites when it comes to its product lines and...I wouldn't say beyblade is one of those favorites😐
But what do I know, that's just my two cents in particular (and also a bit of a wild guess lol).

As for their fans...I don't know...one part of me thinks it's cultural problem since we don't really have any cultural pastimes going too far back given how relatively young our country is for its player base to get truly attached to this like Japan does but...going by that logic, some of the best ranked bladers in the world that can be found on this continent are not very dedicated...another part of me thinks that this is because they are relatively unaware of Hasbro's history with beyblade but...they can't be THAT ignorant, right? The only viable option I can see is that this is a new generation of bladers that isn't being brought up with the same passion and isn't having any inspiration and/or important life lessons or character traits impressed upon them by playing it (at least that's how it was for me)...participating in competitions with beyblades, whether it be friendly matches with my friends and family or official tournaments, Beyblade taught me how to be a better loser, to swallow my pride, show humility and showed a way to channel my creativity. Hell, I make sense of certain aspects of life in terms of beyblade to an extent. It's just that...whenever a "fan" says "iT's JuSt A kIdS tOy" it ticks me off because:
      1. That speaks volumes about how attached they are to the brand in general.
      2. They have no idea how big of an impact a simple "kids toy" can have on a person's life.
If I'm gonna be honest, I don't expect this wave of beyblade fans to last long in the community. Just judging from how they act towards competitive bladers, this is nothing more than a phase for them and they have no respect for those who came before them. I, admittedly, am probably the same age as some of them, but I remember far back enough to when I was five playing beyblade to have fond memories and get somewhat attached to this game so when I talk about the meta-game, past and present, I (at least somewhat) know what I'm talking about.
WHEW WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT, I JUST DERAILED AND WENT ON A WHOLEASS BOOMER RANT ABOUT TODAY'S BLADERS
Sorry if you had to read through this, I just needed to get this off my chest cuz it's been on my mind for a while lately...

Exactly there is no excuse Takara Tomy also sells many other products. I have litteraly message the "official beyblade channel" they dont even respond. Why is this happening? And they do have some people brainwashed like 100% hasbro fans. Back in the day in evolution I preferred hasbro why? because its the same product for cheaper not counting randoom boosters. I know hope that maybe some day they can make hasbro beys but keep the gimmicks and add metal to all their beyblades with good parts. Hasbro needs to change I'm even thinking that the FLAME BRANDS are doing a better job. Hasbro needs to get Takara a challenge or they will get broke! The 1st time it got me mad was when they released brave valtrek how can you turn a really good bey into complete trash? Not even the fake chasis they have or not even the authentic offensive ruber. This is a really serious subject I almost quit beyblade because of hasbro. But now I dont really mind paying the extra money I really think Hasbro needs to improve I was number a 1 beyblade fan.

Whoa. Hang on there. Check it:
      1. Plastic Era. For Beyblade V-Force, nearly everything that could support it had a North or South Magne Core, even if the original Takara version didn't have it. Most of the V2 series didn't come out until much later, and even then, they nerfed Dranzer V2 (Customize Clutch Base gimmick no longer works). For G Revolution, almost EVERYTHING was an Engine Gear product, including things that weren't. As a result, if you wanted the Heavy Metal Core, or the correct Spin Gears for Gigars & Zeus, you had to import the Takara. Then, Heavy Metal System's adaptation as the Hard Metal System...the first few releases had weaker plastic, awful stickers with ugly, inaccurate font. They skipped Dragoon MS Ultimate Version, and then they canceled it after the release of Phantom Fox MS...didn't even bother with the remaining releases.
      2. Metal Fight Era: Yeah, uhhh...Metal Fury was a huge case of doing their own thing compared to Metal Fight 4D. Sure, they attempted to make up for it by having the proper parts in the Hyperblades subline, but that was only for a few.

I love the smell of real facts in the morning.
I miss the days when Hasbro uses to put out decent Beyblades. Yeah, Takara Tomy was always the golden brand, and I preferred it over Hasbro but having a Hasbro bey wasn't a huge issue because they were practically identical. All Metal Fight stuff (except Fury and Shogun Steel) were made almost equally. Nowadays it's like playing spot the differences but the differences are painted black and it's so obvious that it's no longer fun. Hasbro will always have that sort of fun factor to them, they always make interesting gimmicks, even if they get a bit botched in execution. XTS was garbage but it was still fun. It wasn't a huge stain on the Beyblade community because it was a side series that didn't impact the main line of Beyblade whatsoever. You could still buy a Storm Pegasus and it'd be a Storm Pegasus. Now it's just sad seeing what could have been if they just worked smarter and not harder.
All they had to do was cater to both sides nearly equally, and their reputation wouldn't be as in the garbage as it is now. You can have fun, wacky gimmicks while still releasing Beyblades with proper gimmicks, actual competitive use. Make TT beys that were difficult to get because they were locked behind a set, or as a random booster prize, easier to get. Make them the same quality as their Japanese counterparts. You'd make easy money just doing that! But nope, you have messed up, butchered releases that pale in comparison to the originals. The casual outsider who isn't too into Beyblade isn't going to be swayed to your side just because you released a hollowed out Command Dragon with none of the original gimmicks and an egg-shaped driver. You need to put the fans first most of the time because they're the ones that _want_ to give you money. They're the ones that actively want the products you're going to make. Satisfy the fans, then appeal to the casual audience. If Hasbro just did their "authentic Japanese products" line alongside Slingshock, Hypersphere, Surge on the same season, with decent quality and not having such a massive drought of products between releases, nobody would be as harsh towards those lines of Beyblade. The system existing isn't the main problem, it being the _only_ system is.
Personally, as long as they were actually authentic Japanese products, and they did more than three at a time, I don't mind Pro Series having teeth. Yeah, it'd lock out a majority of the Hasbro catalog, but they're being properly advertised, you get dash drivers in the process, which don't work with the slopes system no matter how much you try to really modify it and it's far easier to get. You can just walk down to the store, pick up a Pro Series bey and bam, you have an extremely, if not practically, accurate product compared to Takara Tomy. Hasbro Beyblade has garbage PR. They don't try to reach out to fans for feedback, actively silence them whenever they start getting heat for their poor decisions and completely ignore any problems without even slightly addressing them. Hasbro seriously needs to get their act together. I don't want to have to say that Beyblade deserves a better company, but as long as Hasbro keeps treating Beyblade so poorly, I don't see any reason not to believe it.

As someone who grew up with Plastic, Metal, and Burst Gen, I can tell you that Hasbro has fallen off greatly over the years especially with the Burst products.
Plastic Gen Beys were pretty much exactly like the Japanese versions with possibly some minor differences here and there. Back then, companies like Hasbro, Bandai of America, etc. just took Japanese toys they received the rights to distribute and gave them new packaging for international markets while also releasing some of their own exclusive stuff as well.
However, things went bad around the global recession in the late 2000’s and toy companies were hit. Now American companies had to sacrifice some of the budget and quality for their toylines while trying to make a profit. These companies no longer imported the Japanese versions or even used the same molds in order to cut costs. Luckily, Hasbro Metal Beys are quite identical to the Takara Tomy for the most part aside from some differences so I’ll give them credit there.
Now years later, Hasbro releases Burst Beys and it’s just a mess and this video pretty much sums it up.
The post-Evolution Beys look very cheap and most lack the gimmicks their TT counterparts have. Heck, even counterfeit TT Beys look or even perform better than Hasbro’s. I don’t support buying bootleg products, but if you showed someone a Hasbro and a counterfeit TT Bey most would say that the Hasbro version is a fake.
Also, what happened to the Beystadiums nowadays? They used to have cool graphic designs and were large enough where Beys don’t get stuck in the pockets most of the time (I still wish Hasbro just stopped putting pockets in their stadiums especially for the basic ones).
-QuadDrive looks fun and interesting and it's definitely a step-up from Surge in my opinion.- I just really want Hasbro to fix some of their mistakes and maybe try to redeem themselves before Burst is completely over as Beyblade is one of my favourite toys ever.
*Update:* QuadDrive is very disappointing especially with how Ultimate Evo Valtryek and Glory Regnar turned out. Hasbro let us down again.

Hasbro really started going downhill after Switchstrike, I guess Slingshock was ok..? Still not good, but a bit average. I actually had some hope around the time Pro Series was released, but after all the complaints and the actual releases themselves - I just killed all hope for Hasbro, and was ready for the next release, keeping in mind that it won't be good. We have been surprised a few times, sometimes there were moments of appreciation - but really, we have mostly gotten disappointing releases after Evolution and that's pretty much disheartening. This is mainly why I always buy my beys from TT. Takara Tomy and Hasbro both have their own flaws, but Hasbro has them by a big margin.

I finally bought some Beyblades again when they released the pro series, I was excited to finally have the original gimmicks back, but they let me down again with the super weak teeth. I am really happy with Command Dragon, and Lord Spryzen, but everything else in the pro series was a disappointment with how easy they break. Though, now that my desire to collect Beyblades is back, I started ordering TT beys even though they're super expensive and take forever to get to me. When Burst first came out, I didn't even notice any differences to the tt beys from the hasbro ones. Well yea, hasbro has slopes instead of teeth, but that aside, I didn't notice anything. Then turbo came. I was so upset when I got my first turbo bey, cause I was so excited that it had metal, but it hadn't. Then I realized, that hasbro didn't care about gimmicks anymore. Turbo was all about metal being fused into the layers, and hasbro decided to mostly remove that. The drivers were also very much about slingshot, which was disappointing. I wanted the gimmick of extend, it was so cool to see in the anime, and then I saw what hasbro did. When Rise came, I wasn't surprised anymore. There weren't ANY gimmicks on the layers, and they also were almost completely hollowed out. The drivers also were extremely poorly handled. You remember Prime Apocalypse? The infinite lock bey that was one of the strongest beys by far. It was almost impossible to burst. Now hasbro decided to completely ban this. Apocalypse was hollowed out, it had no gimmicks, and it had the weakest burst resistance. I was soooo disappointed with what hasbro did. Next was surge, which wasn't that bad. It had many gimmicks, but also not that many accurate ones. The chassis were poorly handled, and there were only 4 of them. The beys were extremely unstable and had almost no LAD. Brave Valtryek, the bey with the strongest rubber attack ever, had no rubber, and was hollowed out. Hollow Doomscizer was given the power of his name. It was completely hollowed out, instead of having metal in the scythe.
Well yea, hasbros beys have weaker plastic, but it's still inexcusable to not even make full layers, and not hollowed out ones.
I'm sorry to all hasbro lovers, but I really doubt that hasbro will ever improve in the beys.

  • @MGBARK
    @MGBARK Před rokem +2

It’s sad hasbro can’t cheap out some money to add some metal to the layers or add the gimmicks or at the very very least keep the drivers a bit similar to the tt versions like with turbo and quad drive, you could somewhat tell what they were going for but with hypersphere and speedstorm where they are nowhere close to the original drivers.

It feels like hasbro isn’t giving 100% to all their products, which would be fine if the issues were distributed evenly, they would just make less money and have to put effort to get the profits back up. But because one thing has more care than another, they’ll continue to make money from the better product leading to them caring less for it and caring even less for the one that did poorly

Those are good reasons, good points to why Hasbro series Beyblades are not "profitiable" due to their lack of efforts from Turbo to Surge.
Not to mention how in my eyes, seeing the Pro Series is just a getaway of the problem rather than the solution of the problem.
But, I do have to give them small credit cause "SOME" beyblade from Hasbro series are actually at the passing range to attract customer.
I just hope that rather than "continuing" making the same kind of beys over and over, here's an proposable idea that may work (Just my idea, no offense and anything bad, just giving ideas that may/may not (cannot guarantee) work.)
    Idea:
    1. Remake Beyblades from Turbo to Surge with similar models, parts and gimicks to Takara Tomy version. (Example: Metal parts/layers, actual metal ring and actual drivers with 100% similar functions and looks as Takara Tomy versions for all Beys.)
    2. All exclusive parts (Example: Valtryek's Ult.R. Driver), should be added into ordinary packs and/or boxes rather than making it exclusive only for Pro Series. That way, the products for ordinary packs and boxes will increase.
    3. It's a good idea to sell beyblades with slopes in the ordinary packs, and add teething for Pro Series only (just so that you can prevent marketing products that are similar to Takara Tomy's products), but...make sure you added parts that should be added in the Pro Series (Example: No stickers for All Pro Series Beys (In my honest opinion, stickers just don't last long. Their paint layer is more effective, but needs to look similar to the ones on anime and Takara Tomy), Level Chips for Turbo Beys, Beyblade launchers, holders and set up similar to the anime and Takara Tomy versions, and exclusive stadiums that works for all type of Beyblade.)
    4. Improve Beyblade Burst game with better graphics and additional game modes that fits the theme as the anime or even add actual characters from the anime and give unique awakenings.
    5. QR Codes: Sure, you can add them on the back of the beys, but that just takes away the accessiblity for other layer parts. Put the QR Codes in a tag or something that can be added to the launcher like the tags that you can add on the top of the device.
    6. Try to put more effort into it. You did so well with the Original and Evolution sets and just went downhill in Turbo to Surge.

One thing that you missed was that Hasbro doesn’t fill in their beyblades any more. They are hollow and layers that could be really good even w/o the gimmicks are even worse. An example is Judgment Joker. IMO the layer is pretty good for a defense layer (there are better layers, but stick with me) but the fact that it is hollow completely ruins the want to customize with it. Hyrus is a duel layer, and I would use it’s layer over Judgment any day of the week.

I'm just getting in to Beyblades and watching some of your videos. Mention of Hasbro sucked me in, haha. Reason being, I love tcg's and have been an avid Magic the Gathering player for over a decade... until recently. Hasbro owns WOTC who make MTG and within the past 4 or so years quality and product has shifted drastically. They generally just push out massive amounts of product and shift gears constantly in to different independent property mashups all while using things like the secret lair line to intentionally create FOMO. So long as Hasbro has a hand in a product they will drag down quality and feed in to constant hype and FOMO tactics because unfortunately it works and they make tons of money. Also, they make like 9 variants of the same card and spread it over 5 products to reinforce the necessity of buying absurd amounts of product to complete collections or get the bling you're looking for. I really love that unlike mtg where I have to go through Hasbro, I can just buy Takara Tomy beys and get what I'm looking for. I ended up ordering the 2 Beys I already had from Hasbro online (but the TT version) and the difference is absolutely insane. The Hasbro beys just don't do it for me now knowing I can just go online to a seller listing TT product and pick up something that feels like I ripped it out of the anime. I guess pro series is alright but it's Hasbro... so corner cutting is inevitable.

I've done my own little reviews on Hasbro's Burst products, and what Zankye said here is exactly what I bring up (I.E lack of gimmicks on all components of the bey, lack of good details like paint and decals, and an over all lack of awareness for what makes burst so special and unique for TT's versions and what makes this generation stand out from MF and Plastic Gen.)
Don't get me wrong, I can find some aspects that are decent enough on recent releases to keep me coming back every once in a while to get select products from Hasbro, but ultimately I have only but a small glimmer of hope that Quad Drive or wherever Burst decides to do from here is at least closer or exact to what was the old standard for the first season up to Evolution, as I know we'd all greatly appreciate that.

i feel like it would be neat if hasbro’s main line was comparable to tt and they did stuff like slingshock and hypersphere as a side series.

8:30 id like to bring up the fact that even if they were so called “anime colors” the spriggan of the first box set wasnt even true colors, they added gold for some reason?
