After a charity golf game I go to speak to an Ex Cricket great of Australia - He said that American Colleges are the biggest threat to West Indian cricket as they give the young athletes of the Caribbean full scholarships and now cricket is dying due to the desire of the young people wanting a better life for themselves and you can’t blame them.

It's not like cricket is the savior of humanity either, the costs of organising it includes watering the grounds which is wastage of the highest order of it, so if it's not meant to survive and is meant to die than it will just simple as that no matter how much sm people like it or not,

Full scholarships for what? Not sports. Academics would be the only scholarships they'd get in America. We don't play Cricket and I don't see many Indian baseball players. So if they're smart enough for academic scholarship, they should take it and further their education. Build a good life for themselves, help their family.

Never seen a cricket documentary from this level of colonial mindset before.
The moment Indian cricket board gained more voice at the table, suddenly everything has become corrupt and shady.
If Australia or England were the country bringing most amount of money and eyeballs to the game, this wouldn't even have been a discussion.
Prior to the early 2000s, the ICC seemed content with alternating the presidency between Australia and England in each cycle, without any significant concerns being raised. However, with the rise of a person of color to a position of great influence in cricket, a questionable campaign has emerged to portray this individual as a corrupt politician orchestrating dubious activities behind the scenes, even though he has done nothing new which Football, Baseball or Basktball hasn't already done in their respective leagues like NFL, NBA etc.
These 2 never even mentioned that IPL is basically the same model as NFL.

Cricket was popularised in England only during summer when the players and spectators can have a full day's sunbath!! There is a saying that Cricket is a game played by 22 players and 22,000 fools come to watch!!
Times have changed in accordance to the fast-paced world standard of living and its total lunbacy to waste 5 days watching a test match which can also end in a draw!!
ODIs were the big answer in shortening the game to keep the spectator's interest. It helped when ot was reduced from 60 overs per innings to 50 overs from 1987 onwards. But there again, people cant find enough time to spare and that's when the T20 concept came in and Cricket gathered added interest in many countries as well.
Test cricket is dying and the rot has set in and I dont think any other non-Test playing country would be interested to play Test cricket anymore!! This is the truth and has to be accepted whether you like it or not.
T20 is the version that will appeal to the countries in the American commonwealth of Nations and this is the only way to garner more and more spectator interest in such countries as well.
Regarding Test cricket, the only sensible option is to make it a 60-over innings each for the teams and they can play a second innings as well. This way, the match will be over in 2 days and there will be a result and not a draw anymore and at best the match can end in a tie as well/ But there again there will be a tie-breaker as well
Corruption is there in all spheres of activity and all we can do is minimize it with close scrutiny and audit of accounts. Match fixing is to be severely punished and betting should be allowed for added spectator interest
Ever since India took over the control of the ICC, the game became more and more popular because Indians, Pakis, Lankans and Bangladeshis live worldwide and they form over 95% of spectator attendance on the field and online.
I know the British are not happy with it only from a racist poiunt of view where they now have to toe the line set by the Asians!! Get used to that. Karma time!!

Each match involves 2 teams 22 players but there is also the individual battles between batsman and bowler that makes it so fascinating, 1 trying to outwit the other and then when on top in the battle staying on top. So much that you don't get with t20 which was tailored for idiots.

This is really a story about the selfish preferences of two - I’m guessing elite school - journo kids who want their own preferences for old school cricket fulfilled regardless of what many of the fans were trying to tell them.
Could the UK, India and AUS have realized they couldn’t continue to subsidize a sport in other countries that was losing to other substitute choices at home? We aren’t given numbers because the only story these guys want to tell is about test cricket, but it sounds like the faster cricket is a smart move to save a form of the sport to SUBSTITUTES.
Sorry guys. I know you wanted to stay in fancy hotels around the world for 5 days reporting on test cricket as we played at Old Eaton, but the unwashed masses also have an opinion and some money now.

This "documentary" starts with a pre determined narrative in mind and goes out of its way to paint that picture. That our beloved noble test cricket is being ruined by these unsophisticated Indians (subtly) and corrupt BCCI. I knew it was super biased when they had a montage of Indian fans all preferring T20 cricket over tests. When reality is plenty of people love test cricket in India and if they wanted to have that viewpoint shown they could have easily found people who said that.
The reality is test cricket was dying in the West Indies since the 90s because their kids wanted to be like NBA and EPL players. You can go back and watch the empty stands. Same thing in lot of other countries. World runs on money and its a world built by the west and capitalism. Suddenly to act like cricket should exist in this world of benevolence and social utopia is just bizarre and completely unrealistic.
Whats even stranger is the self contradiction. First they start of by saying money shouldn't be the priority. "Cricket should make money to exist, not exist to make money" was the quote I believe. Then they blame the one board which actually makes money for not giving away more money to countries where people dont care about cricket as much.

      Not sure what you're saying.
If Test cricket died, county cricket will die with it.
Without any money coming into the game from sponsors of Test cricket only village cricket will siurvive.

Sports are greatly dumbing down society. People should have informed opinions about topics that impact society, not which league or team or player can do, or has done some thing or whatever. Learn 10 things about 10 topics other than sports, instead of 100 things about sports. You'll be more a well-rounded and useful person to society.

The excessive use of "background" music is annoying. A good documentary does not need use of emotional background music. Besides this, the music made it sometimes hard to understand the words. Not everyone who is watching is a native speaker.

why don't you also "document" the other side. can you. would your producer's "produce" it? sure it's a you tube video. can you atleast publish viewership stats for this video based on demographics. it would be INDIA. you need india for everything but you have to say what you have said why dont you just say it's political and we don't like as what we have mentioned in this video

A largely pointless documentary that's drawn out to 97 minutes. Even watching it at a speed of 1.5x was a drag. That Test cricket has survived, and continues to be the most exciting form of the game that draws ridiculously huge audiences, speaks for itself, at the end of the day.
