Proud to be a hessle rd lad, can remember pete smith coming into my primary school ( Newington) to sing this. Grew up myself down Eastbourne st before moving onto daircoates. Great memories good times.

Pete was a great guy, I had the pleasure of working with him briefly and hearing him sing Hessle Road always brings back so many memories of the area. I had his record but like many things has been.lost so will keep this video and play it when I want to remember some happy times working that area.
My nanna was proud to be from Hessle Road, and she was proud to see this song. This song will always bring happy memories for me.
