- The Jesko Attack set a lap record for homologated production cars at Laguna Seca Raceway on August 18th, 2024.
The 3.6 km (2.2 miles) Laguna Seca circuit is famous for its complex corners and dramatic elevation changes, including the notorious Corkscrew, which demands precision and performance from any car daring to conquer it.
Remarkably, neither Development Test Driver Markus Lundh nor the Jesko Attack had ever been at Laguna Seca before this run.
The Koenigsegg Jesko set a new benchmark with a blistering lap time of 1:24.86, recorded with Racelogic.

To put this in perspective, this is about 3 seconds faster than a McLaren Senna and 6 seconds faster than a P1. This is insane how much Koenigsegg has achieved here. I suspect there will be many more records to be broken by the Jesko!

Funny part is all of these koenigsegg records are absolutely meaningless and hold little to no weight because they won't last long. The Hennessey venom f5 did 0-400-0 in only a second less without e85. The rimac track edition more horsepower varient Nevera R would also crush this on the track. Not close

Failed to break the Goodwood hill climb record to a car who isn't even a track focused car like the nevera R. There's no excuses because koenigsegg has a history of underachieving, couldn't even beat the old McLaren F1s highest top speed in 2006 until buggati took their shine and popularity. They only held their reigns from 2017-2021 which is absolutely pathetic.

Absolutely incredible.
To be fair, being a pure ICE has its advantages. The weight savings of not having to lug around a huge battery greatly improves cornering performance, and this engine/drivetrain is good enough to pretty much negate the low end torque response advantages electric motors have. The high end torque advantage of an ICE is also helpful when you have lots of downforce as it'll help cut through air resistance at high speeds more than electric motors could.
They run some laps before they make a real run, nobody is dumb enough to go into a track blind especially with a 3 million dollar car.

Koeniggsegg have always been allround performance monsters. Relatively light weight with well engineers suspensions. Unlike Bugatti for instance, whi genuinely are only interested in straight line speed.

At 1:56 it chocked a bit going from 5th to 6th. Sick lap tho, looks super stable in the way it manages the weight around the corners.
He hit the limiter and that caused a bit under 0.2s off drop in the lap time. You can see that data from the timer display

Jeez Louise, this car is as fast as a GT3 car, with street tires!!!! With slicks I'd reckon sub 20's are possible.
An average GT3 car is 10 SECONDS faster what are you talking about…….even with street tires we can assume a GT3 car would still be seconds faster. And that is with only 31% of the power really illustrating how little Koenigsegg is doing with there given power and cost advantage. A Koenigsegg with race slicks would still not even be in the conversation/last place in a GT3 qualifying. Would be considered something like GT class IF even that.

Maybe, The new RB17 by Adrian Newey will outperform the Jesko on nearly all tracks, but the Jesko has some insane top speeds.

Pretty sure a Valkyrie, Bugatti Bolide or AMG ONE could set similar times. Hopefully we will see in the future.

To be honest, i doubt bugatti sees koenigsegg as a competitor in the sense of lap time atleast, bugattis never been good at tracks, the top speed records, and acceleration records will always be a rivalry though, the tourbillon doesn't seem like its gonna set any records, looks more like their going for luxury rolls royce mix with pagani lately. We'll see what happens though

Insane car. If you never watched a Leguna lap before you'd swear it's not even fast, not because it's not fast (it's clearly blindingly quick), but because there is no struggle. No harsh braking, no squealing tires, nothing. The car and driver both look like they're going for a Sunday milk run from the grocery store, and setting world records in the process. Is the AMG One also better balanced in terms of centre of gravity and aero balance, as far as you know? Or is it just front/rear weight distribution that it supposedly exceeds in?

Honestly, there was still some laptime in it in T2 ane T3 especially. Amazing stuff by Koenigsegg, finally they get to show their true colors on the track
While id consider myself lucky to be ever able to afford even one tire that they fit to this car, I'm in awe of just how Koenigsegg leave no stone unturned. In particular, I love the way the dash display rotates like a gyro when the wheel is turned, so the read out is the correct way up for the driver at al times. Brilliant

Jesko is a masterpiece. Comfortable as Porsche, fully homologated worldwide available. Few have achieved.
So impressive here. Amazing design and performance overall. One of the coolest little things is the gauge cluster turning with the wheel and graphics inside the cluster adjusting to the angle of the wheel as it turns.

Impressive lap time! However, only 0.6 seconds faster than the Czinger 21C and that ran the track before it got repaved in summer 2023 and Indycar-lap times dropped by 4 seconds from one year to another. Just something to think of when comparing lap times from before to after - there's a reason why a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT (after repavement) was almost as fast as a McLaren Senna (bevore repavement).
Not even 2 weeks later czinger took revenge with just 0.11 sec lower time
