    The only question to ask, when choosing a Tremolo pedal... would it sound good in a Tarantino film? This choka would 👍

    I really dig this whole pedal line from TC Electronic, they released some really cool pedals for a great price. I bought this pedal just for fun but it became one of my favorite pedals. You can get smooth tremolo sounds too but obviously it's not smooth like a boss tremolo. It chops really well like you mentioned. You can dial old school tremolo sounds similar to a Magnatone. It also works great with a fuzz to get a gated sound.

      If your TR2 is fairly recent, there may be a trim pot inside to adjust the volume up a bit.
      There is also a mod for the older ones, but it might be easier at that point to just switch pedals.

  • @musicsoundgear

    I don't know if many people know that those TC Electronic pedals are Behringer pedals re branded. Behringer bought TC Electronics. That's why they are so inexpensive.

    • @60CycleHumcast
      @60CycleHumcast  Před 6 lety +4

      i think plenty of people know at this point. Tc was bought out by the company that owns Behringer, its not quite the same as behringer owning tc but its close. it means that tc has access to behringers production infrastructure. Most of these pedals ARE reworks of existing behringer circuits but with with a much better case. I imagine the time savings on R&D helps make the price lower too.

    • @musicsoundgear
      @musicsoundgear Před 6 lety +1

      I wasn't knocking them. I have Behringer pedals and I like them. I just don't think they are the quality of the old TC Electronic pedals.

    • @lemonslice2233
      @lemonslice2233 Před 6 lety +6

      From Tore Mogensen of TC Electronic:
      "Just wanted to give a little more insight into the design of these pedals. Most of them are indeed based on some of the old Behringer pedals, but it is incorrect to say that it's a rebranding or re-housing. I gave the Behringer pedals a listen over a year ago, and truly though a lot of them sounded really good. From there the idea formed that with some work they could form the basis for a new cheaper product line... something I (and our dealers) have been wanted for years.
      So here is the skinny on what has been changed from the original pedals. As you can hopefully tell, this has in now way been a quick copy/paste job... quite the contrary! The TC team in Denmark made a whole new mechanic design. We designed new mainboards to support true bypass. All the pedals have changes to their original circuits (both component and signal flow) to change the tone, add or remove knobs or switches, remove unwanted noise, etc.
      In essence we've diligently gone over every single pedal and changed the things necessary to make them work and sound the way we wanted them to."

    • @CaalamusTube
      @CaalamusTube Před 6 lety

      Behringer also was offering Digital stuff nearly exclusively. Outside of their "Vintage" range... which seems to have been a flash in the pan, they really don't fill this niche in the market.
      I've got the Phaser. It's *NOT* as well made as my Echobrain! But it sounds amazing for $24! There are comparisons with the Small Stone circulating & it truly holds it's own in my estimation!
      Wishing I could get my hands on a NOS "Vintage Time Machine" !!!

  • @peternigelproduction
    @peternigelproduction Před 3 měsíci

    This pedal is terrible and I sent mine back. The LFO knob does absolutely nothing! This whole line of pedals are just re branded Behringer pedals housed in a steel case. T C Electronic have gone down hill since becoming a part of the Music Tribe group. Also, forget using a battery unless you want to fiddle with trying to remove and replace 4 small grub screws.
    Be advised that the 'wave' knob on the Behringer UT300 actually does something and it's $20 less.
