CHILL Rollerblading through NYC Gridlock | Pebbles Potholes and Parade routes

- In this video, I decide it's a great idea to rollerblade from the Upper West Side to Brooklyn on a day that NYC has a parade planned. Many streets were closed off, which made navigating the city a mess.
I also do a quick demonstration on how to rotate your wheels on your rollerblades to make your wheels last a lot longer and wear evenly.
Apologies for the audio. I wore an external mic and had it hooked up to the camera, but it didn't work for some reason. So you have me wearing an external mic on my helmet for no reason at all. Mistakes were made, and it'll probably happen again.

Dude is a real life Subway Surfer.
Lol
I was literally watching the video thinking the same thing
😂❤
Not really. They stand on top of the trains. Different thing. And sometimes they die.
Only difference is that for some reason, the police completely ignores him lol even when running red lights
dudee this guys movements are so satisfying, he skates like water, i wonder if he’s ever danced before
I have two left feet, never danced
@@thestutteringskater haha, same here, got the fluidity when skating like I have no bones, but I could not dance to save my life! love your videos , I have just discovered your channel, like 2h ago. I love it, I haven't skate in the last 3 years, but with this video you have convinced me to pick it up again, thank you, don't stop having fun with the skates!
Man he makes it look so easy, like simply breathing 😮
Please don’t stop making these videos. 💜💚 Your footage is like a really cool ass scene from a movie. It honestly feels good just watching you skate. Literally majestic.
As someone who lives in and has spent my entire life in the Midwest, seeing the streets of NYC from this view is something I don’t think I’d ever have another way of seeing. Thank you for this gift. 💜💚
I try to keep em going, just been slammed at work these days. They are always so much fun to make when I have the time
i live in Iowa and think the same thing. a huge city like New York almost scares me, but watching him cruise through the city just amazes me.
Keep the speedometer every video! It’s awesome
It's so much extra work though haha
either way your vids are awesome! keep up the work!
@thestutteringskater totally worth the extra work. Or least drop it in here and there. It's impressive af you hit those speeds 😂
bro that part was so sick, if i was on that train id be goin crazy@@fixitralphltd4988
I'd like to use the speedometer for my videos.
That train race is honestly a really sick shot!
Haha thank you! It was fun and spontaneous
@@thestutteringskaterGlad that you won that train race 😊.
He finally granted my request to add a mph gauge!
Gonna try Branson Raw bearings to see if that helps with more speed.
Like so many others I used to skate in my teens but hadn't since then (more or less 25 years ago). CZcams sucked me into a skating rabbit hole which got me the itch to try it again. Picked up a pair and gave it a go. First 2 days were kind of wobbly (though fun) and now after day 3 I'm getting comfortable jumping a little bit, skating backwards, and slowly starting to learn the soul slide. Loving every bit of this, so thanks for inspiring my old ass ;)
I'm going to give you the advice I wish someone have given me: "Use protective gear"
I was on the same as you, practicing for 3 weeks, fell and took my elbow out of place. That was almost 2 months ago, I made surgery to reconstruct all my ligaments 2 weeks ago.
Be safe out there! And be freeee
Oh yeah definitely. I don't go out without it. Good luck with the recovery!
I skated indoors as a kid, and then started again in my 30s to teach my kids. Now I'm 46 and starting to work on my trail and street skating!
I wanna be like you when I grow up.
Seeing so many iconic spaces from this perspective is endlessly fascinating.
More coming soon! Always open to suggestions of new places to explore
having seen some of these location in tom clancy's the division its cools seeing them like this
Movie scene sites shot in New York might be a sweet thing to explore! "Movie scene route" or somethin lol @@thestutteringskater
Glad you have a helmet on. You are very skilled, but you never know what another driver will do! I am considering buying some rollerblades now. ❤
My skates showed up yesterday. Wish me luck! On 3: 1, 2, 3, MIDLIFE CRISIS!!!
What did you get? I got on my 10 year old Bauer hockey skates the other day and they don't feel very nice 😅. I need something to cruise around on
Hopefully your mid life crisis doesn't come with tendonitis of the knees like me 😞
@@MichaelHumbles I got a pair of twister edges from thuro skate shop cause they were on sale. They're more for narrow feet, I have wide feet so the rb cruiser would have probably been a better choice, but the twister just looks so damn cool and they were the same price on that site. I only tried them on so far didn't skate yet, didn't feel too bad though. Figured I could use a heat gun and stretch it a bit if I need to.
Hell yeah!
I love Johnny! he's so chill and friendly!
Johnny is a legend!
Dude! 25mph is cooking on skates, I knew you were fast but damn. Watching these videos makes me miss riding my bike through city traffic. It takes all your focus and lets you forget about everything else.
You have to be truly present and it's always a blast!
Such control. I love your video's
Thank you! Always such a blast
Rollerblading rules, I’ve never seen a skateboarding video with this amount of amazing flow
25mph forward is qiick, but backwards too. You've got guts and skills bud. Stay safe.
Dude your videos are so therapeutic for me.
Oh I'm so glad! I enjoy making them when I have the time
had to drop a like for that train race
Ayyy thank you! The J needs some upgrades
You're so smooth with those transitions, it boggles my mind, I'm glad I ran into your channel because now I'm not stopping until I'm as smooth as you.
I love this life.
That was just awesome. Always surprise me that you dont hit car side mirrors going fast at times when you pass them.
Love the content!!! Cant wait for next one
Satisfying
Thank you
The race with the J train was AWESOME! The tutorial on rotating wheels was excellent! So cool how you make it feel like we're FLYING through all this traffic! Way cool!
Thank you so much! Trying to entertain but also educate a touch
This is crazy cool! I've never seen NY in this perspective. Many CZcams creators from NY.. but I've never seen it like this before, and that's why I love these videos!
But also, genuinely curious to know, when you're riding past people (example on the bridge) how do you know that they're not going to move into your way?
Amo seus vídeos! Você é o melhor patinador urbano do mundo. Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷
Patinador né kkkk
ohh baggy pants. reminds me of the 90s
It's all I had, I really need to do laundry
I was digging the digital speed posted. Makes good reference.
His videos are always so epic
Thank you, learning how to edit slowly but surely
Probably one of the most efficient ways to maneuver through a busy city seeing how you can not only go where bikes and scooters and boards can go but also where ever a pedestrian could go as well like cutting over curbs, sidewalks, and stairs to cut through places with a quickness. Cool content man! mobbing through the bike trails is great footage! especially going backwards maybe even raise the camera a little higher so we can see a bit in front of you when your mobbing backwards would be dope, either way though great camera work.
Thank you so much! It's always a blast, I'll take that under consideration.
i could watch your uploads all day.... fantastic skills
Love these vids...I will note...rollerbladed all summer long, went to get back on ice skates for my sunday night league and almost fell flat on my face! lol
Thoroughly enjoyed this one, what a place to skate!
Thank you! Sooo much fun.
You make me want to pick up some skates. This takes me back to my mighty duck street hockey days as a kid. Used to love the freedom and speed of this. Thanks for your vids.
Don't know why but I find myself praying for you and the joy you bring to people. Take that as you will. But thanks and God bless
Wow, this was super fun to watch❤️❤️💪🏾💪🏾
The last time I was on blades I was 10 but one night while on magic mushrooms I stumbled upon your videos and they(maybe the shrooms too) inspired me to order my first pair as an adult! Its been 4 days since that night and I'm still stoked for them to arrive, so thanks for the inspiration!
Hell yeah, I love hearing that! Be careful and let me know how you find it! It's such a blast for me :)
Mermerising. Bloody brilliant!
can't wait to get this confident and skilled. checking back in in 2 years to give y'all progress updates.
I can’t wait to learn how to skate backwards as steezey as you. I’ve been practicing but still having issues getting my body position more open and to stagger my feet more. Watched your tutorial a couple times and it’s helped but I still have a long way to go lol
The train race was my favorite part. That looked like SO MUCH FUN
Such a blast! haha
You added the speedometer !!!! I just commented last video it be great to see! Love it dude!!! ❤😊 !!
More coming soon! Just for you
I’ve watched a ton of your videos and have always wondered but haven’t seen (or looked at enough comments to see) anyone ask if you are a former hockey player?? Your footwork is insane.
Haha can confirm I'm a hockey guy. Really miss it!
@@thestutteringskater you honor your roots well though! Traded ice for some crazy difficult terrain! I’d say you leveled up lol.
Dude, I seriously love your videos. They're so fun and inspiring.. really makes me want to get a pair of skates and start speeding through traffic like you
You skate wondrously - ALWAYS WOWED! Awesome !!!!!!!!!
Wow, thank you! Always a blast
Love your videos Ari! Keep it up, be careful. 23-24 miles an hour is crazy fast on skates, just a little slip and you can’t lose control quick, especially with other riders around.
You are such a treat to watch! 😊
I love these videos!!! Much love from Chicago!
Man you so sick with it man!! I'm getting inspired to buy me some new skates and start skating again since I was a kid.
Amazing, I love NY!!!
Thats some serious speed
Thats my middle name
New viewer, you got my sub 👍
Your video angles are a trip. Watching your videos feels like I'm some ghost flying there midair down the street with you. Amazing skills, I wish I could skate like that... You make it all look easy although I know it's not. I admire you so much! Keep on making amazing videos for the rest of us who suck at skating. At least it keeps us dreaming of one day skating half as good as you do. Thank you for the dreams and the inspiration! :)
The vision and reaction time of this man
These vids are sooo much fun
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it
Best video yet. Keep them coming.
Missed you bud. Good to see you healthy and shredding. 💚
Work has been crazy, hopefully more videos coming soon
Thanks for the reply, dude. I've been smashing skate training this year, thanks to your videos.
I honestly don’t know why I keep coming back to watch your videos, they deliver intense amounts of anxiety. But your energy and positive attitude has a gravitational pull. If I’m ever in your area I’d like to tag along and rip some asphalt w/you but then again I’d probably slow you down! Stay safe my friend and keep being awesome!
This is just awesome man, Mike the British guy !
Hey Ari, I've just stumbled to your channel a couple of days ago and I've already seen all of them. I love your content and your videos made me want to start rollerblading, next week I'll go buy a pair of rollerblades, It's been 20 years since I last skated but you made me miss all that so much. Thank you!
As a former "aggressive Inline" skater, I approve of this video SO MUCH! May have found a new favorite channel. Keep it up!
Feels like you're getting a little more speed skater dna into your flow these days! Great ride :)
This dude is COLD!!!! Flawless!!!
4:55 love this part
I did too, security... not so much
@@thestutteringskater hehe
pebbles are satin's minions!!! 😂nothing like having your life flash before your eyes because of 1 pebble! hahaha
Keep going dude, i love your work, i love roller skates 😊😍
One of the coolest video so far keep it up!!!!
Thank you, more coming soon!
Skated as a kid. Now 31.Went ice skating with the fam the other day and made me pull the trigger on some skates. Cool videos
Awesome! Thank you so much for that video
Hey Ari, I'm a fellow stutter-er who used to rollerblade in the 90s, and I'm trying to get back into it. You inspired me! San Diego is a tough place to re-learn, but I'm giving it a try.
Oh, and also, Stay safe out there.
Love your videos
Thank youuuu
Awesome ! Ty from france
Thank you too!
We need a gear check/ suggested setup for people looking to reintroduce themselves to skating.
And your stamina is crazy. Plus you’re hitting speeds I typically see on my bike. Legendary stuff
Great friggin video. Never seen your content before. But, I must say , it's awesome, if it;s anything like this video, then I look forward to it. Really cool. Thank you for sharing. :) Also, the music rocks!
Awesome content !
Insane! I was like: 😀😳😨😰🤯😱😲😅
Amazing!
Thank you!
New to your channel , I know you've heard this before , WOW ! Grew up in NYC , and did my speeding around ,but not like this 😅Really great to watch Ari .
Dude I love these videos
Thank you! They are a blast
Now u have one fan from Latvia. Nice ride, man!
bro. you're crazy good.
love these vids buddy keep em coming
More coming soon! Just for you!
@@thestutteringskater top man, I haven't skated for about 15 years about 6 months ago the kids saying dad I want to try skating ,so I took them to the local roller rink to give it a go, couldn't help myself so put a pair of blades on an truly surprised myself, I've still got it 😁. As I'm nearly 40 I thought hitting the skate parks might be a bit much didn't need any broken bones as I have a family to support. That's when I stumbled upon your vids my mind was blown I need this in my life, so skates are on order. Thank you, you have been a total inspiration. once I'm at 1 with the new skates I will send you a few vids, well that's if I haven't slammed into the back of a taxi 🤣🤣
Glad you made it :) some really sick shots in this one
Appreciate it! more to come! (I hope)
That ridge and train sequence was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 wish I can catch that type of speed with a view… out here in florida the flats limit speed 😩
Great Way to getta around.
Amazing❤
Thank you!!!
Love the video, love the camera, love the music, love the speed indicator, now somehow fix the wind noises in I will fall in love with your videos ^^
Jet Set Radio Future vibes
You should dress up as a Street Shark on Halloween! JAWSOME! 😅 🦈
Hmmm I have some other ideas
✌
Woah 18mph backwards on the pedestrian bridge was badass footage...excellent content as always.
One rock and man 😬
new to the channel...loved this vid....almost asmr good footage
Thank you so much!
I dont skate but i love watchimg your videos. Found you frim Terry B. Keep it up.
Dude is so smooth with it, its so satisfying to watch! Love your videos!! When skating on the streets are your blades rockered or flat?
At 12:10 only in the US does a motorcyclist wait in traffic like a car. Such a silly sight...
Great skating! Love seeing the upper west.
Thank you! You'll be seeing more of the UWS soon
Not in California.
@@jeffs4483True, I stand corrected.
Amazing
This looks fun af, reminds me of when I used to skate all over my town but on little ass wheels and anti rocker in the middle ( smaller wheels) for grinding LOL. I guess I didnt realize how much inshape I was and my endurance was phenomenal. All grown up now and I have neither endurance nor good shape LOL. Also we have crunchy ass roads here so you hear like a scraping sound the entire time, wish i could have skated a walkable city back then like Toronto Vancouver or NYC, would have been fun af. I also like to cruise around fakie, always had people doing a double take and smiling lol.
This is rad on VR!
"Skating in here is dangerous. think ill try to trip him while hes going 10mph to make things more safe" that security guy at 5:00
Haha bro had no chance of stopping me.
Dude, how are you able to go so fast without getting hurt?! Your control on the skates is unbelievable. Hats off to ya🎉
I dont want to dicredit the guy, he is an awesome skater.
But just let me tell ya, the speed and the "tight gaps", everything looks way faster and tighter because of the camera lens while in reality its not as extreme or close as it looks.
The race with train was fire
Dunno your skating background but you skate like a hockey player. Just found your stuff, fun to watch.
I played roller hockey for over 20 years and I wish so much that I could do this in LA, I just love to skate
Skating is life!
Speedometer was nice, it always looks so much faster than it actually is, but 25 mph is quite impressive on its own.
