- In this video, I go on a quest to see if a racing suit, otherwise known as a skin suit, can make me faster on rollerblades without me having to put in the work to develop stronger technique. We are trying to get this the easy way. Who said you can't take shortcuts? Maybe going max Aero is the way to go?

you going 30 km/h and in full control is absolutely amazing. i've picked up skating recently. planning out my progression smartly, building control and slowly gaining miles and speed. i can already feel a great new hobby is born. much better than running. love your vids. and from a fellow person that stutters every so often its nice seeing you doing your thing like this. much love.

No need for music, the sounds of the city and the whistling of the air are more than enough to accompany this incredible skating.
It's for me and my fellow misophonia-havers who hate the sound of heavy breathing, chewing, et cetera.
I like his eclectic music choices and the city sounds. Maybe split the difference and lower the volume?
The ending wasn't awkward at all. It's nice to hear an honest evaluation of the equipment, and you make a good point about why pockets are important!

That was an interesting tour of NYC. I was looking at the architecture. There are some nice older treasures but for the most part just big ugly monoliths. Apparently, NYC used to be a gorgeous city back in the day. Amazing skating that’s for sure.

I have to agree. 99% of his roads always look so smooth. The 1 bad road he showed in the video was comparable to a good road in Boston.
We have more potholes and cracks in the roads in Rhode Island that they just finished working on at the end of August as well.
What a ride! I need to figure out some of those sweet city push methods (like the double push from the same leg thing and the "sway" that seems to generate power)

It does give you the appearance of being faster, also if you go between two buses like you did you won’t have to worry about your clothes getting snagged on anything.

I love this guy. Busts wrist, still no protection! A broken wrist is what destroyed any ego I had left and I started wearing wrists. Then repeated knee dumps got me wearing knees, at least when with dog. It only took one elbow dump to get me in elbows when going with the woofers. I just hope I don't have so many issues learning about helmets...
Yes! I am older & never had an issue until I fell a few times later on in life & am slowly coming back after a broken arm & shoulder in me vs vehicle. It sucks, but I wear more pads now so I can keep skating into my 60’s 😮

My cycling speedsuits have 3 back pockets...its very nice, but also has a chamois so that might not be idea for skating. Maybe ill cut that out on an old one for a skate suit sometime hah. Also some more aero tips if you wanna get some more aero gainz - shave the legs, aero socks, and aero helmet!

As someone twice your age, rides supermoto, road motorcycles , super sports and skates...protect yourself. At least knees, wrist and head. Broken more than your years. These injuries latch onto you and compound in the years to come.
Recently noticed that many of skate helmets people use don't work.
For (very) low speed fine and to prevent road rash. Other than that the polystyrene inner shells are as hard a rock and will not absorb nor spread out the impact at the speeds you and most others skaters are skating. The impact force will simply be translated to your skull and brain.
PS is used for single use impact. Once impacted and crushed the PS does not rebound. If it did your head would bounce post impact. Not a good thing.
The idea is that the crush point of the PS should match the expected level of impact. It does not. Not even close.

What do you use to measure you mph?
As a cyclist I can promise you that you'll go faster with a skin suit. How much faster I couldn't say exactly but you're getting some watts of savings by not having baggy clothes increasing drag through the air.

I've never been to NY.. but damn, every time I see it, especially in your videos, I always think how my life would be different if I lived there.. I'm living this through you though. .. I live in the mountains, isolated.. I wish I was born in NY (or equivalent).. I could be skating like this, or being more cultured in other ways... life is funny.. and it's cruel to make me wish I had an other life.
you'll probably feel the drag if you went skinsuit consistently for a month and then switched back to regular clothes. but for your style of skating (and for just being out), a skinsuit is more of an inconvenience

Aren't you worried someone might open their car door at any point..? An injury caused by an accident in that scenario could honestly be life altering - for both you and the person exiting the vehicle... Otherwise, wicked flow and videography, your storytelling is really inspiring!
