Update on the spring rolls: I, in fact, did the “trend” correctly. No frying. Just wet rice paper. I done a lot of research today 😂
There’s another one where they do get pan fried. You put sliced cheese on the rice paper, then the noodles on top, wrap it up like a nice chubby package and pan fry on both sides. Girl! Those are soooo much better and then you dip them in some spicy Asian style sauce.
Might I suggest a future ingredient for you to try? Gochujang. It’s a Korean red pepper paste, it’s kinda sweet, kinda spicy. It works so well in a lot of things. Mix it with ketchup and top meatloaves. Put a little bit in the beef broccoli, fried rice, etc. It works really well with Mexican food too. Been binge watching your videos for a couple of days now and have been enjoying them a lot. Thanks!
Yeah I ordered some once and They were fried?!? I guess that may be a thing, but i always have them cold and gummy 😆
I don’t like spring rolls like that. I can eat fried ones but would rather have an egg roll lol.... it’s a texture thing for me
You can airfry the spring rolls. They get crispy.
The only spring Rolls we deep fry them 😊
Hey Brooke! I just wanted to let you know I have severe PTSD. I don't find much relief with it. Your videos help me to escape intrusive thoughts and lessen my anxiety. Thank you for being you!
Praying for you tonight Shell, from TX. XO
Shellbell, my heart is with you. I understand.❤
Same
That’s awesome she’s a great comfort 😢❤
Your excitement at finding a package of cheese buried in the meat/cheese drawer made me lol. ( Yep, I've been there!)
I never thought to just fill the manicotti straight from the package and have them cook in the oven. I always boiled them and then fought with floppy noodles trying to fill them with cheese lol
Stuffed shells can be filled dry and cooked in the sauce also. I use a piping bag to fill them and smother with sauce then cook. Easy.
I always cooked them first before stuffing. This will be so much easier!
same!
My mom filled the manicotti dry all the time.
missing ingredients is when neighbors come in handy. Its a constant text back and forth with us all
My neighbor would have been disappointed because I don't buy ground ginger.😆
Congratulations on meeting your monthly $200 goal!! Love when you wiped off the stove real quick with your hands 😅.
Have a great day everyone!!
Yep, that's what I do 😁
I think she was a bit loopy in this video did you notice the burn meat on bottom of pan?
If you store a fresh knob of ginger well wrapped in the freezer you can just take it out and grate some off of it. It keeps a long time.
OMG! That manicotti looked so good! Thank the lord for found cheese! 😂
Hey Brooke, you can add a little water when youre adding the cornstarch to the beef. Its a little easier to mix, and separates easier as you cook and has the same velvetting result :) x
Is watching Brooke’s delicious meals actually making your grocery bill go up? Lol. I want to try everything she makes
LOL! Yes, she has a better stocked pantry than me.
Love her down to earth attitude and simple rib sticking meal ideas.
I think that you allowed yourself $50 a week was very smart. I watch another Channel where the family allowed themselves $500 a month and spent most of the money by the middle of the month. 3 days before the month they went to the grocery store and started into the next month's grocery money. I was getting excited to see how they were going to stretch what they had for the 3 days remaining in the month but they didn't finish the month out. Kind of felt like somebody starting a race and not finishing it, I lost excitement for that channel.
Congrats on meeting your goal.. $200 a month for a family of 5 sure is not an easy task with todays prices and yet you did it!! Cant wait to see what you do next!! PS totally doing the Philly pasta this week!
Braden is a doll! He would prolly even like my awful cooking! You are gonna have to give their fiancées cooking from the hip lessons!
Congratulations on making your goal!!! Your oldest sons hair cut looks amazing on him!!! I love your love of life… ❤️
HA! I love the face...It looked like Dusty and the boys' faces when they tried that survival food! Glad you met your goal of 200! I'm practicing getting my grocery costs down so that I can pay off credit card debt! Y'all pray for me! LOL! The manicotti looked great! I might have to try that. Never have. :)
I thought I was the only person who added water to get the last drop of sauce, pesto, instant coffee out of the jars. Instead of using Ricotta Cheese you could use Cottage Cheese and mix it with the Egg I save money doing this when I make Lasagna. You did a great job with your food budget of $200/ the month
We just use sour cream in our lasanga and it works too.
Thanks for the video. Miserable people just want to make others miserable. They’re annoying and pitiful. Oh well, there’s always darkness with light. Thank you for being a light, Brooke. 😁
Just wanted to see how your husband was doing keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery 🙏
I work at an agricultural complex and we have a pretty big rodeo in March! We have all kinds of stuff….indoor motor cross racing, horse shows, circus, dog shows etc!!! It’s a great place to work! We also have a big bluegrass show every November and Rhonda Vincent was here this past November!! She was just awesome!!! Good job Brooke!!!! I just love you so much!!!!!❤
I had a cast iron Dutch oven with white enamel on the inside and the instructions told me to soak it and OxiClean fill it up with hot water and and add a scoop of OxiClean powder into your pot and let it soak for an hour and then wash it out. Works pretty good. It may not take all of it away but it does a decent job
I’ve never seen that Instant Onion, but I always keep frozen chopped onion in my house. In our area, onions are actually very expensive so it’s the same price to buy one fresh onion or a bag of the frozen pre-chopped stuff. It really helps me cook at home when I have some of the tasks I don’t like (such a chopping onions and garlic) already done by the store.
same! if i had to constantly peel and crush garlic id never use it haha.
For years I hated to have my hands smell like onions or garlic! I’m nearly 60 years old and just realized in the last year I can easily use gloves when chopping them! Game changer!!!
I have definitely found food I don't remember buying. I found a whole bag of tortellini in my freezer that I added to soup. I just imagine the food fairies paid me a visit because I was good.
Yeah you did it and yes I love your be nice that was special, keep up the good work you are blessing a lot of people with your easy, inexpensive, delicious meals 🍑
On ramen you put about one scoop noodles and some chopped veg and seasoning. Than fry and great to make peanut sauce using pb is easier. You chicken dinner looked awesome. Love beef and beans.
I absolutely love your videos it's like hanging out with a fun friend. You make me laugh so hard, you do you Brooke!
The cheese fairy was there!
Having a stocked pantry sure helps when the budget gets tight, also helps to use the ole stuff up. My sons have been doing junior rodeo since they were 7, my eldest got state champion for his age bracket last year. Mama proud for sure.
Everything you make looks delicious! Love your taste testers. The little one fainting cracks me up every time.
We have a saying…poor is the one who doesn’t live life, rich is the one who lives life with or without material item’s…sounds a little better in Spanish lol😊 we also love going to rodeo’s or bronco riding shows. 👋 from Oklahoma. May god bless you and your family always 🙏🏼 ❤
😅ĺļ⁰
Brooke
You did so good staying with in your budget each week. You always make me smile as you cook loved it when you found the cheese in your frig. I did the same thing today.
You poor thing with the Raman noodles. I laughed so hard because of your facial expression that I woke up my husband.
Love your channel.
Brooke!!! I would love to see a video with you canning the Pork n Beans and other canning as well!!!
I love your channel, your cooking, and your family!! You’re a very real, down to earth person. So happy you don’t let the ass hat comments get to you!❤
I love that shaved beef from Aldi! Mine doesn't always have it, but when they do I buy several packs and freeze them. It thaws fast. And is great for so many different recipes. And it doesn't shrink down much at all. Magic mozzarella found in the drawer! It was just waiting for this moment! Those baked beans look delic! And could be a meal on it's own! All that protein! They looked so good, I've been craving baked beans! I need to make some asap. Great video as always!
A fabulous week of fabulous dishes. Well done.😉🤗
Have you ever tried a dish called: Steak on a Stick? I use to order this long ago at TGI Fridays Restaurant. So good. I just googled the recipe and found it. It uses shaved beef like you bought, is marinated and then you thread it on wooden skewers and grill it. Serve it couple of skewers over white rice with your broccoli on the side. Recipe said, you can do this with chicken, pork, beef etc. your raw protein just has to be very thin like you bought. Since your guys hunt…might be a way to prepare a wild product. Also, you might want to try the Greek version of their yogurt marinade chicken on a stick served with some pita bread…just something different. 😊
Mama love to watch your videos you always make such interesting food that I would never have thought of also I love to hear you say Aldi and oil reminds me of my mom
If it weren't for Dollar Tree and HEB we would starve. Thanks for your help and ideas.
Girl you get excited over bonus cheese just like I do I swear, LOL! LOVE your meals, love your cute lil' personality too, honey! Keep keepin' on, mama! xo
I just love you! Your happiness and energy is contagious 😊 Thank you for being a light!
We put all our egg shells in a old container. No washing etc. They dry out. In early spring put them in a food processor or blender . Grind them up. Sprinkle them all gently into your garden. Full of fantastic soil nutrients.
Your face with the spring roll was funny, you couldn't have lied through that if they paid you 🤣🤣
I think you did a good job on your week-long meal prep.
The mannacotti sure did look like my kinda dinner ❤
Brooke God bless you. You are a real mom inspiring real moms!
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your family and your ideas! 🌼💛🌟✨
OMG I recently bought that minced onion when it was on clearance. It is such a great “pantry” item this month when I ran out of fresh onions and was trying to stay out of the grocery stores and use up what I had on hand .
Well Done! I love how honest you are.
Thanks Brooke! Love your videos!
Thank you Brooke and family 💞
"PERRRFECT DAAAYY..." 🎶 LOL I love that song
You did it! What a great feeling it must be, Brooke. Thanks for sharing and be blessed always! xoxo
I'm glad to hear someone else is as picky about their chicken, having to pick off the membrane and the tendon! Welcome to my world!
Thank you for all the help. Blessings to you and yours
To get the chicken vein out of tenders we use a fork and a dedicated pair of pliers to pull them out!! Easy Peasy!!
What my mom does is take a gallon bag or even a “Walmart” sack and puts her flour mixture in to coat her meat.
Great closing, Brooke. 💯
One word. Yum! Amazing what you can do on a budget!
Nicely done! I always enjoy the uploads where you cook 😘 ty!

Breakfast is toast, cereal and coffee/tea, lunches is ham and provolone sandwiches, yogurt and pretzels. Dinners, chili and cornbread, leftover chili and turkey burgers, tuna noodle casserole with mixed veggies, ham slices, Mac and cheese, green beans, Salisbury steaks, mashed potatoes and corn.

Great job for the $200 month for family of five!! It’s nice to eat from pantry and freezer. Gives you so e to buy and store more loss leaders and clearance foods. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
You did good! I spent just under $200 for me and my son sometimes, during the month of January. However, I have a lot of food leftover, so I do not need to buy any food this week. I'm well stocked up for February.
P

Budget Warrior !!!
Great ideas thank you.
I love your family so much! We live so differently (ie. I'd never go to a rodeo or do survivalist stuff 😂 Typical NY'er) but I know I would love hanging out with you all. Cooking, having coffee, collecting eggs. You all just radiate goodness! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey, I live in central NY and I LOVE rodeos!!!!
Speaking of which, the darn Gov is making huge changes to the NYS Fair, bet she doesn't know that they will now be operating at an even bigger loss now!!! I mean, wth, the fair was started to show off the animals, now she raises fees etc, when we are all broke already??? Plus, the Wurlitzer organ that's been there forever as a loan from someone, has to be moved AND she is searching back 50 plus yrs.of records to prove that at some point, the handshake agreement shouldn't be valid anymore. How sad is that???
I love when you sing !!°🎉
I love your vids and I love u and your family u teach me a lot thank u for being u and thank u for all u do your like part of my family I'm alone so it's always fun hanging out with u
