- Me and Jennifer Lopez went to the public market here in Angeles City early this morning. We spent 1,716 PHP on vegetables, 520 PHP on fish, and 350 PHP on pork. That's about $45.61 USD in total.

I always add one white, one yellow (sweet), one red, one small bunch green onion to my Chili, also half onions are diced and other half sliced, plus one green bell pepper, one red bell. One yellow, one orange bell peppers with same stragegy half sliced half diced

I never get tired of market videos. Will be leaving Korea for a couple of months in Bali again end of Dec. Unfortunately, I have to keep my gringo face out of the fish market otherwise the price triples. Ha ha... Buy the fish / seafood / crab/ lobsters there and take it to a nearby restaurant on the beach (they charge a small price for cooking it and use of their tables) - at least half the cost of ordering from the restaurant menus who buy from the same market which is just around the corner. They know you well so I don't think you get the foreigner price there just like I don't in Korea after 18 years. Bali not so much.

That is extremely vague, brocolli may be something imported, and it is high demand because of the large population, also this is just one area, it isnt near the water, so if it is local, there isnt any water source to truly plant broccoli, you are misinformed, and so are your thumbs uppers.

The best mangoes I ever tasted were those football sized mango carabao in far southern Mindanao. That taste is just unmatchable. Is that a word? Yes I think it is. I think alot. I think about government corruption and stuff.

I'm trying to work out how people figure living in the Philippines is cheap? Rent / Booze / cigarettes YES very cheap but electricity / food etc NOT cheap at all.
I can live at less cost in Thailand or Vietnam ,,, ahhhh but the girl i love is in Philippines :(
Food is not too expensive if you stick to stir fries with rice or noodles like the Chinese do.
@@Dana-ie2bh I prefer not to become 120 kilo OBESE foreigner :) I like a good variety of foods ,, vegetables , chicken pork and fish. I do see seafood there is a good price BUT vegetable pricing is often more expensive than here in Sydney Australia. A home garden and grow my own not only reduces costs but keeps me active :)
How do you get the idea that food is expensive, where did you get that from?
@@gangstagummybear3432 I should have been more exacting ,, vegetables are expensive ,, I watch many you-tube videos showing market shopping and the prices there are often higher than here in Sydney Australia. Chicken and Pork are about the same ,, Beef is more expensive ( beef NOT carabao)
@@tilapiadave3234 It is still vague, you havent watched a videos displaying every market, every store, every city or anything like that, so it would be kinda misleading to say even those particular things are expensive. You should understand one thing though, island nations often have to get stuff shipped in, so the imported stuff often cost alot. The honest truth is, the only way you are going to find cheaper prices of anything across the board, no matter what country, especially when it comes to animal based foods, the only way to get costs down on that from a standard internationally, is to artificially produce more of it. Here in the US, if you go to the state of Mississippi, you can find places that cat fish is cheap, why? Because they have tons of man-made catfish farms in the state, they themselves are an exporter of catfish; so ofcourse it is priced less there.
With certain items, it isnt something you can just farm more of, so you cant control price that good, yeah, I can easily price chicken at 1 dollar per chicken, but that isnt practical, you arent going to turn any kind of profit like that, and your supply wont last long, so in the end, unless you make price contrast to a good profit vs how much of that supply there is, how can you possibly make a profit to live off of?
There are plenty of "foods" that are dirt cheap in the country, unless you are ultra picky, though I feel you have been fed this narrative of cost being cheap vs more expensive by Philippines haters in elsewhere places that have used this to try to sell their favorite places over this country; that seems like what your stance comes from I would bet.
