Especially during Lockdown in the UK! Keep up the great content :)
@@olifoster349 I actually like Thessaloniki more than Athens, it’s less touristy, more organized and clean.. most importantly there’re less tourist trap places around the city. Hopefully, next year we’ll all be able to travel more! Had so much more planned 😅 hope you’re well despite lockdown ✌🏼

Hi Christina, hope you enjoyed the video!☺️ which your favorite place in Thessaloniki?
I love Thessaloniki but haven't been there for a few years. Aristotelous Square has some great events, and the White Tower is full of history. My sister lived in the Evosmos and Stavroupoli districts for over 30 years and I always enjoyed my visits.

@@Drtanujavats fingers crossed, where in China do you live? 😘
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon northeast China, city called HARBIN 👀
I havenever heard before of this city but what you ate looks delicious. where is the gyros??
Hahaha unfortunately I don’t eat meat but I’m sure you can find it in many places! 🥰
well,as i have origin from Thessaloniki, the shop of Konstantinidis ( the first one,it's on Mitropoleos street ) IS FAMOUS FOR ITS MILLEFEUILLE , and the other one ( Elenidis )
is found in Navarinou street, the street where mostly students chillout.
The last church is " Agia Sofia ",a byzantine church ( smaller version of the one in Constantinople ). It's my district there!
PS : Few meters away from Mitropoleos street, there are 2 well known restaurants, the one is called " Diagonios " ( famous for its gyros, meatballs etc ) and the other one is called " Marea ", a fish restaurant,i think it's the best in town for fine dining.
Hey Nick, wow so many tips in here!! Thank you so much foe sharing all these places 🥰 I’ll definitely try out Diagonios next time in the city!
Do you go back often?
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon
Vo pervih,pozhalusta!!! ( I think you're from Ukraine or Russia,am i wrong? )
Also, the cafe-restaurant you showed " Garcon Brasserie " it's an ideal spot to chillout for a coffee in the evening when the sun sets. Its staff is friendly and will help you with the menu ( they can suggest you if you're new in town ).Although, its food is average, and there's not big variety of dishes like with pasta. You can eat on the ground floor or even at the 1st floor, with a beautiful view of Thessaloniki!
Totally suggest you " Marea ", a GREAT RESTAURANT,fresh fish-food always on time, the personnel is i think the best out there.
Also,i discovered lately a pizza restaurant called " The last slice ",wow!!!
It's 2 blocks away ( on the left, heading to Aristotelous square ) from the " Garcon brasserie " i mentioned before, and it's always full of people, mostly young.A great variety in DELICIOUS and big pizzas ( only pizzas, not pasta ). There's the take away option also.
PS : I can't forget also a " hidden treasure " of the city.... A gelatteria called " pagoseto ",is found on Navarinou street ( where Elenidis shop is found, you cross Tsimiski street, and in your right hand let's say 100-150 meters, you will eat THE BEST ICE CREAM in Thessaloniki.
I suggest you try for sure " Millefeuille ", " Kazan Ntipi " and for sure " nutella ",i think each day the variety changes. It's an all season gelatteria, but it's closed if i remember well on national days, and at Easter.
Feel free to ask me for more info,Vasillisa!!!
PS : Your name in greek means " queen " :)
I wish I travel like you do btw I love your videos so much your the bestt🤗!:)^•^
Thank you SOOO MUCH!!! 💕 Super happy that you liked my video, hope that I can travel again soon! I'm back in London in lockdown now. What about you? Where are you now? x

hello , how long takes from airpot to city center by bus?
Congrats for 500 Vasi dear!!! I am there now too!
I love your Greek vlogs, since I have never been to Greece before! I really really wish I could travel right now but the world hates the U.S., haha...hah. :'(
I wish we could be eating all the yummy foods around the world. No pigeons please!!
Thanks so much Stephie, congrats to you as well! 😘😘😘 I’m sure that this is just the beginning for us 🥳 the world doesn’t hate you hahaha we’re also in lockdown here in the UK 😅 hopefully next year will be better for traveling! I also miss exploring new places 😅
Looks pretty interesting there, not been myself but it's on my list. Not so well known, true, so would probably be a good place to visit once things are more normal again. I note, like Athens, a big graffiti problem, a real shame. Nice food! I travel solo sometimes, not that often but if someone doesn't want to go somewhere and I really do, I don't let that hold me back these days. It's quite nice to do exactly what you want for once with no complaints 🤣 But I don't like to hang around on my own at night, so I usually use the whole day from early on and scuttle back to the hotel room after an early dinner. Full marks to you for going for it, but you did have a friend there so you weren't totally isolated 😃
I really suggest you going there, it’s also cheaper than rest of Greece and tbh, I do like it more than Athens because it’s less chaotic and cleaner. I totally agree with you, the evenings are harder 😅 but depends what you’re looking for, at this time of the day strangers also become more talkative 😂 Do you have something planned for next year? 🥰
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon I wish! This year I was supposed to be in Gibraltar, Monaco, Moldova & Transnistria, Belarus and Estonia - all cancelled. Won't be booking anything until there is more certainty. Which is hard when you are used to a lot of trips, to go to hardly even leaving the house 😥
@@proevosham4923 Wow, you had so many trips planned! Hope you got a refund or managed to rebook them. Gibraltar and Estonia are also on my bucketlist. I see that you're a fan of Eastern Europe haha I'm also so used to traveling a lot more.. especially to new places, this year I haven't been to any new country and I miss so much exploring new cities, cultures, meeting new people.. Fingers crossed for next year! :)
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon The only good news was I got full refunds, or was able to delay until next year. I even got a refund from Belarus 😎 Yes Eastern Europe is cool, a bit different, up and coming. As I'd been to Estonia last in 1995, it would have been interesting to compare. I'm pretty sure the Ladas have gone by now. I was on track to visit every country in Europe by this year, so I'll just have to try again next year - maybe!
I Travel alone to Thessaloniki next week🙂
Im just reading this now! Are you already in Thessaloniki? I’m close to there in Halkidiki area🥰
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon oh i just reading this now 😅 yes i was there in halkidiki area from the 02.07 until 07.07. It was amazing! Did you travel alone aggain?
I am planning a solo travel to Thessaloniki next week ! Do you recommend spending 3 days alone there ? or is it going to be awkward and a bit boring ?
Hey Karim, this sounds exciting!
3 days are enough, you’ll definitely have time to enjoy the city of Thessaloniki. I think it all depends on you, try to meet locals and spend time with them! They’re usually very open and friendly so it shouldn’t be a problem 😘
You should go to Ibiza
Maybe next year but I have other places on my list before that tbh!
Hi there! My family and I planned to travel thessaloniki in mid June 2022.
May I know If it is more feasible to travel by bus service or taxi? 🤔
Hi Bryan, glad to hear you’ll be visiting Thessaloniki 🥰 do you mean from the airport or around the city?
The Thessaloniki center is a place where local Greek people actually LIVE, in the contrary in Athens city center Greeks almost don't live any more. They prefer suburbs and they mostly left the center to tourists and immigrants.
In Thessaloniki tourists are always welcome but you don't meet them everywhere. People sits in cafes and restaurants to eat and have a good time, not to talk by themselves to a camera. It just look awkward to them, so they stared. No harm done. They were just curious.
When I was a child, thirty years ago, the meat in the markets was just hanging free, without any glass or window around it. Later there were regulations about clean and healthy etc. so they have to preserve it behind glass, in refrigerator etc.
Hey Eleni (hope that’s how you read your name). Are you from Thessaloniki, you know so much about the city 🤩
To be completely onesto with you, I prefer Thessaloniki to Athens exactly because it feels more like an authentic Greek city 🥰
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon I am from Kozani which is about 1h and 15 min drive from Thessaloniki to the west part of Macedonia. Thessaloniki is the capital city of Macedonia and we go there for fan, shopping, better hospitals, study in Universities, etc. very often.
Greece is traditionally divided in some geographical regions: Macedonia, Thessaly, Thrace, Peloponnese etc.
no not om my own!!😮😂
In Thessaloniki: October 26th: st Demetrius day(the protector saint of the city) and local holiday
October 26-27th liberation of the Ottoman in 1912 and local holiday
October 28th the national holiday for all Greece, for the beginning of the second world war because the Greek prime minister answered "No" to the Nazism proposals.
So Thessaloniki has EVERY year this three day holiday when (before covid) there were many public celebrations, ceremonies, and BIG parades. The atmosphere is amazing (before covid) I have visited Thessaloniki many times with my family because of the holiday. That's why they had the flags placed in many buildings.
I was there exactly in this period, so it all makes sense all! Also because some of things were closed. My friend explained to me that as well ☺️ are you going to have celebrations this year?
@@VASIGTravelingLifeinLondon I hope so. Nobody knows because of covid. I hate this situation.
