The biggest problem they did not state is that Phillips new replacement machine, i.e. Dream Station 2, is a much cheaper made machine and any filters and etc. you have will not fit on the new machine. Many people will have to pay out of pocket. The hoses are smaller diameter and will not be sufficient for large people. The water tank is smaller, so requires frequent filling. There is no swivel fitting at the back of the machine so your hose goes straight back into the wall, instead of being able to swivel towards your bed. The machine is all black and difficult for us elderly to see in the night.

How often will Medicare pay for another unit?
I’m waiting over 2 years for my replacement unit and still no word on when I’m receiving my new unit.
I don’t know if I should use my old unit.

I'm very frustrated with how Philips is handling the recall. My DreamStation machine broke down on August 2nd. It was giving me trouble with my sinuses for a full month before the breakdown, and I registered for the recall on 6/19/21. The machine was just 8 months old at the time it broke down.
I've called Philips multiple times, called my PCP, lung specialist, and DME multiple times, and still got nothing. Worse, Philips attempted to UPS me a letter on 10/19, and because I had moved, said letter was returned back to Philips.
Because of DOT/FMCSA compliance, I couldn't continue to go without my therapy, therefore, I had to buy another CPAP machine from a different brand, namely ResMed, with no help from my insurance.
I'm still waiting on Philips to replace their defective junk.

I know its frustrating. I feel your pain. I hope things will get better for us all.
On a side note, THANK YOU, for working so hard in the trucking industry, to keep America running.

I had the Philips Respironics System One and signed up for the recall. After about 18 months, Philips sent me a replacement.
They sent me the DreamStation One: Model number: UDSX500S11 w/a humidifier
In those 18 months I decided to purchase the AirSense 11 and I think that machine is superior to anything else.
Just wondering if anybody here has had a similar experience or if you have received a replacement yet?

I received notification from Phillips that my CPAP machine was being recalled. It took them over six months to send a replacement and when I got the replacement it was identical to the one that was recalled. I tried to use the replacement but I kept thinking has it
really been fixed so I don't use it.

So remove the foam. It’s not hard. The machine is a little louder but what is the down side?

  • @shawndardbarbarbarian5061

What is ASI?? That one guy talked about different levels of when using his machine.

I want them to pay for me to get a new machine. I don’t want to have another machine from Phillips. I have had sinus issues and running nose all the time. Upper bronchial wheezing.

@@jonikoegel5238 I was listening just fine. YOU were apparently not reading what I wrote, because the key word is DEMONSTRABLE. None of the individuals in this video have any demonstrable, objective medical injuries that can be proven. Just claims, feelings, vague complaints that could be true or untrue, related to their CPAP use or not, etc. etc.

@@galejohnson1722 And your proof that iit is related to your CPAP device is what, exactly? People are diagnosed with pulmonary and cardiological conditions for a wide variety of reasons. Your presumption that any disease condition diagnosed while you are under CPAP therapy is CAUSED by the CPAP therapy is unfounded without further corroboration. Correlation causation.
