    I buy white vinegar by the gallon just fill up the bleach or softener dispenser with each and every load, takes the hardness out of the water you won't even need fabric softener anymore and it keeps all the pipes and the machines squeaky clean from soap buildup..Best thing you can do. Also put a cup of it in the dishwater standing up on bottom rack. Spot fee dishes, clean pipes and tub... if you do all of this first with each and every load there will be nothing to clean later

    Okay, when using baking vinegar you want to let it sit on the spots you want cleaned (do not spray it on metal), then after 5 minutes or so add the baking soda and scrub. Adding baking soda immediately defeats the purpose of using vinegar as baking soda neutralizes the vinegar.

    I looked in my manual and it only stated press TUB CLEAN. It stated nothing about three seconds, this washer is 11 years old the display does not show the entire characters. It still works fine, but the mold has always been a problem and I was fanatical about cleaning the excess off of the boot and leaving the door open. Emptying the detergent dispensers and leaving them out to allow morev ventilation. I have tried to figure out a way to keep the door ajar enough to give proper ventilation, but nothing yet. The open door is sometimes a nuisance. Thank you for the video, iit really helped.

    I use vinegar and bicarb soda every wash. So, there is almost zero build up of slime, and grime.
    But, let me tell ya, I got this LG front loader cheap, but hell, did it take some cleaning. I don't think it had be touched in the eight years since it was bought. It had to be seen to be believed.

    Vinegar is acid and baking soda is base/alkaline. If you mix them, theyll cancel each other out and make something new instead (salt and carbon dioxide gas), a no no for what you want to achieve.
    Instead, use each product one by one, and water wash in between to avoid undesirable reaction when using the next product.

    When I start to unscrew the drain filter water comes pouring out! No water came out of the drain hose. On my model these two things are at the very floor level so I can’t put a bucket under them. Is that part of the problem? Do you have any recommendations?

    • @HacksbyDad
      @HacksbyDad  Před 2 lety

      My washer was raised up on a pedestal. Without a pedestal, you’ll need to place a flat pan of some sort on the floor to capture the water. Or maybe a large towel.
      😎

    • @spazzman90
      @spazzman90 Před 6 měsíci

      If no water comes out of the drain hose, its likely that sediment has compacted in the rubber line. Start at the end with the cap removed and squeeze up the line. You can feel where the blockage begins and ends. Use your fingers to massage and work the line from one end to the other. You'll eventually loosen it up and it will flow. Then you can remove the filter.
