OMG I loved this movie when I was a kid, I used to watch it every weekend when I was in primary school, I still even have the video of it on VHS. Haven't watched it in years though, still a great classic.
Life truly is soul sucking, how could I forget these amazing movies and the way they made me feel!? My childhood is rushing back like I just woke up from the matrix...
I love how this is all supposed to take place in Australia yet all of the characters have American accents. (except for Hexxus who has an English accent.)
Yes! I was looking for this clip. I saw this in the theatres when I was a girl. This whole scene with Zak playing "Land of a 1000 Dances" for Crysta and all the fairies had a huge impact on me musically. This is the way people need to expose kids to classic rock songs- by putting them into cartoons they're going to grow up watching.
When Pip gets jealous seeing Crysta and Zack, it is so funny! 😅Crysta is cute with Pips but definitely fits better with Zach! They both seem the adventurous type! ❤🎉
That song was later heard playing in another movie starring Robin Williams, namely, Disney's 2009 movie, Old Dogs along with Seth Green, John Travolta and most of his family, and the late Bernie Mac too.
I loves how mellow Crystal's people are in this film. Meeting a seemingly deranged bat? Not what they expected but still nothing to see here. Meeting an actual human? Unexpected but interesting. Their home getting destroyed? Time to panic!
@kitttykat248 They are in Australia, theres bound to be Kangaroo's in the forests, lots of food. What I want to know is why none of the humans have accents. I always found that weird as a kid.
Great Outdoors introduced me to this song when i was 6 when i saw that in theaters! i saw this movie in theaters when i was 10 years old and loved how they used this song.
Oh man, I remember watching this movie on Disney Channel when I was a kid. I think it was Disney Channel? I remembered this song till today! But all I could remember was the na na na part. And now I've finally found it. This brings back memories!
"Hey, Zip! Why don't you come with me and the boys, we'll give you a taste of real FernGully WILDlife..." mmmmm....want... Oh, sorry, don't mind me. I just came back from Paheal. Move on, kids...
Zak: It's a recording. Music Crysta's dad: Well i don't know what a recording is but i know what music is and that is not music LOL just like an elderly man (at least some of them) when they hear some music. One of my favorite lines. I also love Batty's "Price check on prune juice Bob price check on prune juice." Also love the scene "A dream worth keeping" with Zak and Crysta
I've been pondering lately, what song would be played at this scene if Ferngully were made today? It reminds us whom watch it now that this movie is '80s/early '90s as fuck! Rock on!
90's huh? Could be worse. It could have been rap instead. Rap was really taking over during that time. Instead he was listening to oldies. It was considered oldies even when that film came out.
@1:33 In Disney's animated Aladdin (November 25, 1992) Jafar disguises himself as a beggar to trick Aladdin into leading him to the Genie's lamp. The old man dancing with the giant beard IS the exact beggar from Jafar's disguise, they're far too similar to be coincidence in my opinion, down to the knobby wooden cane and tattered grey rags of clothing. Ferngully was released In April of 1992 and is not related to Disney in any way. Thoughts?
FINALLY ive been trying to remember the name of this movie for years
This one of my favorite cartoons. I wish we could relive those days
Same here i tried to remember the name of the movie as well
I rediscovered it on streaming a while back
Isn't that the best feeling?
Batty: "Ah! It's audio pollution!!"
*stuffs ears with fairies*
Zak is officially the most whitest 90s dude I've ever seen.
+Exeron Including the tanned skin xD
+NyghtStrix young donald trump
NyghtStrix Yes. You need the Baywatch tan to be considered.
Well worth it
Then why is he dancing to black people music?
Takes me back to my childhood
It was one of my first movies! So I know how you feel
I searched up “alligator na na fairy” to find this🤦🏽♀️😂 I used to watch this so much when I was younger!!!
1:50 Crysta and Zack Forever!!! 🔥❤🙌
*Crysta
One of my favorite parts of the movie! Dont you wish as a kid you never wanted the dancing to end? And yet, there was a lot more plot to cover!
ah man... havent seen this for about 15 years.... brought a MASSIVE smile to my face and brought tears to my eyes so many memories
OMG I loved this movie when I was a kid, I used to watch it every weekend when I was in primary school, I still even have the video of it on VHS. Haven't watched it in years though, still a great classic.
One of my strongest memories of my first cringe! I was 4 when I saw it. Hexus scared me alot haha
how is this cringe?
Me too! 🫣
the nanana reminds me of the song: Here Comes The Hostepper
Lol i swore the hotstepper was in fern gully till I actually looked it up just now 🤣
Because the hostepper took the nanana part and incorporated in the song
I have not seen this in years but the dancing kangaroo is still funny and i still like the song and scene LOL
Life truly is soul sucking, how could I forget these amazing movies and the way they made me feel!? My childhood is rushing back like I just woke up from the matrix...
It’s tougher than ever to find good movies these days. Hollywood has changed too much with the times.
For those looking for the ORIGINAL version of this song.
Wilson Pickett - Land of 1000 Dances
I love how this is all supposed to take place in Australia yet all of the characters have American accents. (except for Hexxus who has an English accent.)
I didn't know it was supposed to be in Australia, I thought south America or the USA
@@Kruppt808 It's Australia because of Mount Warning, which happens to be located IN Australia! :)
@@herbalwolfooo5413 That explains the Kangaroo.
Kinda surprising casting directors didn’t have the guts back then to cast actual Australian star power to voice in this movie?
Poor Pips.. Forever in the friendzone
He would get along with Ken
I love that. "It's alive!" "And it's noisey! *falls backwards*"
Me.....listening to the radio now......^^^^^

Pips looks like an older version of peter pan only difference is he has green eyes long hair and has a great body lol
Lol he does! Probably inspired by him or something lol
When Pip gets jealous seeing Crysta and Zack, it is so funny! 😅Crysta is cute with Pips but definitely fits better with Zach! They both seem the adventurous type! ❤🎉

Mine too. I’m just about watch this with my son, passing on the love and the childhood memories 😍
wow.. it's been a while since the last time I listened to this great song... thanks for sharing it!
Zack introduces the fairies to human music!
"See ya around, Zag." lol
1:52 he looks jealous.
You don’t say lol
@@phillyboysie6503 because, he’s her boyfriend.
@@nathancruz9172He's kinda like Kocoum from _Pocahontas (1995)_ am I right?
@@Elysia63 he sure is. But, kocoum got killed by Thomas.
@@nathancruz9172 What if Pips got killed if Zak had a close friend just like Thomas?
i think in the end withthe way the movie ended, i think they really did love eachother zack and christa... i wish they could stay together :(
It was the first love story I was exposed to as a kid! So I bet this is where I get my appreciation for romcoms from.
Zack almost looks like Kristoff from Frozen.
1:40 That wallaby really knows how to dance.
That's A Kangaroo
Cheeseandwhiskers 1998 R/whoosh
Zak is the original bro
107th like. Can't make this pegasus project shit up
This movie makes me proud to be Australian c:
Child hood memories. Oh yes
I loves how mellow Crystal's people are in this film. Meeting a seemingly deranged bat? Not what they expected but still nothing to see here. Meeting an actual human? Unexpected but interesting. Their home getting destroyed? Time to panic!
1:56 ...And thus, the origin of the whip was born~ ;D

Ahhh the ever forgotten cool ferries of the late 80's early 90's
Zak looks a little like George Michael...And he dances a little like him, too...
And Crysta reminds me of Nena.
Fairy twerking in the 90s 1:56
Kruppt808 She should dance do that Robo-Dale song that sounds like Duke Nukem's theme.
she's doing the whip.
+XOXOAsheBeautiesXOXO Yea
Best comment #epic #fairytwerk !
Shes doing the whip before the whip was even known. Nay Nay
I didn't know this song from anywhere else, I thought it existing was a fever dream lol
whoa 0:30 isn't that the Sultan from Aladdin? I don't see Ferngully in that guy's acting list on IMDB but he sounds identical.
SuckTitles looks like him too
lol true dat
Also Batty's voice actor played Genie!
Love it, brings back memories
Ok. You HAVE to lose weight and get in shape to this song. It's IMPOSSIBLE not to dance to this.
many many many years later the movie and music still rock
I love this movie!!!
The original Mr. Stealyourgirl
I love his totally serious faces in the beginning of the song hahahahahahaha
I still love this movie and I haven't seen it since I was like 7😂😂😂
I play this in Pep Band and didn't realize how cool this song was untilI watched this movie again. :-)
Oh damn i dont remember crysta looking so thicc.
I love crysta.
LMAO bruh chill
Pips was way hotter than Zack, sorry lmfaooooo

See you round, Zag.
i remember when i first played Land of 1k as a pep tune in high school, it was an immediate flashback to this movie
I've never seen the movie, but this song was in my anastasia sing along video!
I love it! I'm gonna go watch this movie!

Zack always reminds me of men from street fighter.
Ken you mean?
They should have made Zack return in the sequel
We bite off hey!
Crysta had the best dance.
Finally! #FernGullyIsBack!
that's why Batty Koda is my favorite character 1:00
My favorite song 🎵 ❤ 💕 💛 😍 💓

It’s a recording! A music!
Too bad Tim Curry didn't show to participate...er I mean Hexus...for the sing-along.
All this I've been playing this song in marching band but never knew the lyrics or it was from this movie
Zak's duck walk at 1:43 and Crysta's dance at 1:58. I would always try to do them both when I was younger.
When i was a kid, i didn't even know what a rap was, nevermind a bat doing it.
But, I DID know what the Land Of 1000 Dances was!
This is some Harry Partridge shit right here.
I've been pondering lately, what song would be played at this scene if Ferngully were made today? It reminds us whom watch it now that this movie is '80s/early '90s as fuck! Rock on!
i so lvoe thsi video it so cool and sweet. i so love this sceen in this moive
Here comes the hotstepper (murderer)
I'm the lyrical gangster (murderer)
0:15 Hit it!
I always loved the girl fairy with grey hair who Zak dances with briefly.
1:49: You go Zak! You know how to get the girl! Yeah!
AUDIO POLLUTION!!

It's thumbelina in reverse the girl has wing but the boy doesn't
@CoruscantSunset Omg......I just realized that....humans coming to destroy their "world" and end up trying to save it....
Zack's awesome
am I the only one who is wondering what the fuck an Australian kangaroo is doing in a South American rainforest ?
jack daniels what are you talking about this is based in Australia
jack daniels Set in Australia. There's also cassowaries which are Australian and a goanna. 🙄
Better question: What's an American logger doing in an Australian rainforest?
@@rachelwaring4561And a platypus too.
@nafari420 "Land of 1000 Dances" by Wilson Pickett, released in 1966. :) Great song.
Crysta was rocking out to the music....she is such a slave to the rhythm hahaha just kidding
Is it just me that finds Pips'/Christian Slater's voice just a bit sexy? 😏
Hayden Cooper yassssss
Kangaroo in a Rainforest? That's awkard! ;)

@lolinternetslol It's supposed to be set in Australia. As a bit of evidence, Mount Warning is a real mountain in Australia.
