my whole life since childhood I've had this memory of the sludge monster in this movie and just nothing else about it, eventually I needed to know what that memory was from so I googled "old animated movie sludge monster" and holy shit this has brought back so many memories...

@@glennsnyder9711 Batty had a *really* rough time with a group of humans who used him for many kinds of animal testing, so it's understandable why he'd be like that.
I know a lot of people tend to think of this one as not very good (at least from most of those I've heard speaking of it), but I always rather enjoyed it. Not the best animated movie of the 90s, but decent in its own right 😊
Honestly for a 1992 movie? The animation is very nice and fluid. The movements look real and they arent stiff. I mainly love the hair movements.
This was my favorite movie as a kid
I like it as a kid and still do to this day. It’s not masterpiece but it’s still very enjoyable. The animation is really good for the time and I like the characters like Crysta, Batty and Hexxus.
@@nickzilla20 I also still love this movie to this day ^^ I think its very close to a masterpiece, and the message the movie provides is very important (don't destroy the nature and forests). I actually tried doing some remixes of the genesis and spirit of the trees songs recently :)

This movie was one of the classics that made me wish I could go in there and live freely.
I felt the same way when I was younger in the 1990s of wanting to live in Ferngully of hanging out with the Beetle Boys to be part of their gang having fun to be a Beetle Boy myself in my underwear half naked riding a beetle.

I've always admired plants and animals throughout my life. I can only imagine what joy it'd feel like to live alongside exotic animals and help trees grow.
I remember watching this when I was little, I begged my grandparents to put this on all the time. Having to rewind the vhs tape over & over again just to watch it. I wish it was on dvd bc I gotta say; I would watch this movie again & again.

I grew up watching the first and second ferngully and I always loved this. Too bad that apparently not a lot of people are fund of it.
my DVD of this literally disappeared from the face of the earth and I never found it, and this is the first I've seen of it in YEARS man. I loved this movie.

Probably Stump was going confused and crazy or Stump and his Beetle Boys were being cursed upon Zak because of him being human to the likes of the Beetle Boys licking his belly and chewing his hair for a tasting fun as Zaks fair bullies liking Zak so much.

I remember when I was little (we're talkin like 5 years old) I watched Ferngully 2 MANY times before I even knew about Ferngully 1, watched that one a few years later. And I was SO shocked/disappointed to learn that Pips WASNT the main character🤣He only got like 2 lines this movie, they did my childhood crush dirty >:T
For real tho, as much as my adult self knows these movies are bad, they influenced my childhood so much, and I just can't hate them. I had a wild imagination back then, fully believing that these fairies existed out there somewhere, and that I'd meet Crysta or Pips myself one day. Goooood times💖

I loves how mellow Crystal's people are in this film. Meeting a seemingly deranged bat? Not what they expected but still nothing to see here. Meeting an actual human? Unexpected but interesting. Their home getting destroyed? Time to panic!

I loved watching this movie as a kid having a crush on the Beetle Boys when Stump caught Zaks right leg hanging him upside down in mid air watching his friends Twig licking Zaks belly and Knotty chewing Zaks hair for fun as Zaks fairy bullies until the Beetle Boys fly away to Ferngully taking Zak with them as if Zak belongs to the Beetle Boys not Crysta.

There's more than one hopping deer creature in Australia. It's actually kinda weird seeing a roo in the rainforest since they prefer open plains to graze. The big one could be a wallaby, the small ones pademelons.
