    I bought the blueair because I didn't see this video until after the fact. But it's still a good buy, I may pick up a Winix for another room

    why is it that some sensors only do odor detection and others do dust detection? i have the winix in a smelly room and a coway in a dusty room. i really wish they could detect both and scale up accordingly. is there any device like that?

    Air quality sensors are bull..Bought a Shark 6 with it and it lasted 2 months and went haywire..Bought a Blueair 211 and the sensor doesn't even work at all stays blue and on low speed..Bought a Medify ma 50 and they told me they took the feature off their models because the sensors were prone to failure and it best to run it constantly all the time anyway.

    Winix 5500-2
    Kenmore PM1005
    LEVOIT Core 300 , Core 600S
    Coway AP-1512HH , Airmega 400S

    Just got the 5500 and we have been loving it so far! We had the Levoit Pur131 for the last 2 years but it ended up having a similar problem a lot of people had where the change filter light blinks and no buttons work and just after the warranty ended

      @@gamerboy-bu3yt Nope, Canada. Did you get the same problem? Or is it more common of an issue in the Eu?

      Numbers are in cubic feet per minute:
      5500-2

      Sleep - 35.3
      Low - 84.8
      Med - 109.5
      High - 130.7
      Turbo - 247.2

      @@ABG2412 Oh damn really? I didnt think it would be that much of a jump between high and Turbo but given the sound it makes I hope it would be that much XD Its a phenomenal air purifier and Im really glad I got it but just based off of feel I really wouldnt guess there was much of a difference between high and turbo

      @@DetectiveJones They are outstanding purifiers and an equally great value. For the record, those numbers are from the manufacturer (not random internet numbers) ;-). Glad Winix makes such a great unit and makes it priced right.

    winix 5500 AUTO mode does not work at dark time of a day. The "smart sensor" shuts it off turning the 5500 into SLEEP mode and there's no way to override this except switching the unit to manual mode. Most reviewers. are not mentioning this issue.

    • @AirPurifierFirst
      @AirPurifierFirst  Před 2 lety +2

      That and having the air quality sensor that detects only odors are the two biggest cons I have for this air purifier.

      I've used these units for nearly 10 years and I never use the auto mode.

    Can you please suggest which air filter will best for a 'budgerigar aviary'? This is an indoor aviary. The size of the room is 220 sq ft. Around 400-500 budgerigars will be there. I need the air to be free from dust, bird dander and odour.
    Or do i need to install something else?
    Thank you!

    • @AirPurifierFirst
      @AirPurifierFirst  Před 2 lety +1

      Good ventilation is key, but an air purifier will definitely help. As I already answered in your previous comment, I would suggest the Winix 5500-2.

  • @zaplutekaryreakcjirecords1704

    I've got complications with neighbors who are often smoking cigarettes. It looks like Blue would make a better job in this situation. Am I right?

    • @AirPurifierFirst
      @AirPurifierFirst  Před rokem +2

      I think Winix would be a better choice as it has a much better carbon filter, which is also washable.

      I'm afraid Winix doesn't have an alternative for the 5500-2 in Europe.
