    16:30: If it’s esse, not matter, which “makes an individual being what it is”, “one”, and its intrinsic dynamic relationality, then does it not also do that for a thing’s intrinsic universality? If not aren’t we ultimately nominalists? If it does, then why do we need the distinction of essence and existence? Except to make the hylomorphic interpretation of static Aristotelian science more dynamic and theistic. Hardly needed today.
    It all becomes so much simpler!

    What are the two readings he's referencing? Or if perhaps more to my underlying motivation and purpose, what are some helpful readings on personalism?
    An answer to either question could provide insights to listeners. Thanks!

      The readings assigned by Dr. Sanford for this lecture were:
      - Norris Clarke: Person, Being, and St. Thomas;
      - Maritain: The Person and the Common Good.
