Today June 29,2024 we wanted to to explore a new trail to us in the Manzano mountains. There are many different trails in the canyon at different lengths and climbing grades. Hoping to be back here several times to explore other trails in the canyon.
Mountain lions and cougars are the same animal. Just different names.
Yes they are. Out here we know them as cougars, but some other people in different areas now them as lions. Same animal. 😂Thanks for your comment.
@@DavesHikesNewMexico I read that they have the most names of any animals because they have so many regional variants. Like puma, panther. I can't remember the rest!
@@Catlily5 Yes! 😂 but I think pumas are black always, and the ones out here are always tan color.

@@Catlily5 Last year on the trail herd the growl on a ledge above me but he did not run after me. I backed away slowly and went hiking on another trail.
