Hi welcome to my CZcams channel. I have been hiking, camping, and exploring areas through out the southwest parts of the United States for more than 50 yrs. In 2007 I volunteered to take international students from the University of New Mexico on hikes through out New Mexico. Its a win win for all. I have a network of students to share my hikes and they have a guide for free. Each semester I meet new students. I love my times with the students and the many hikes I have shared over the years with them. I also like to travel on my own part of the time. This is what my channel is about. I had never shared my hikes publicly and I just started in September 2023.

There are many different trails in the canyon at different lengths and climbing grades. Hoping to be back here several times to explore other trails in the canyon.

Sorry to hear that, I too had horrible dizziness and was in bed for 3 months a few years back.

@@DavesHikesNewMexico Interesting! I hadn't heard of keto working for balance. I have been hearing about it for some other issues though.
@@Catlily5 I have had many positive changes. I am waiting for my annual check up and then decide if is good or not. But so far I have been getting way more energy, no dizziness, weight is going down, and it gives me a chance to continue to enjoy the outdoors. I plan to post a video of the my lab results in order to help or encourage others to look into it.
Ponderosa pine trees smell so good! If you sniff the cracks in the bark you can smell vanilla sometimes!

Mountain lions and cougars are the same animal. Just different names.
Yes they are. Out here we know them as cougars, but some other people in different areas now them as lions. Same animal. 😂Thanks for your comment.
@@DavesHikesNewMexico I read that they have the most names of any animals because they have so many regional variants. Like puma, panther. I can't remember the rest!
@@Catlily5 Yes! 😂 but I think pumas are black always, and the ones out here are always tan color.

@@Catlily5 Last year on the trail herd the growl on a ledge above me but he did not run after me. I backed away slowly and went hiking on another trail.

I remember taking thermometers out in the early 90s..... between 45° F and 50° F difference between the shade and the sun..... My uncle said in the 40's, it dropped 60° as soon as the sun went down. We paved paradise.....
Yes that does happens out here in the deserts. Temp in the shade is way cooler. And these giant rocks were amazing how cool it felt in between them. The sand was cold to walk on.

We mostly get perfect days in NM, but this week we have rain and is horribly humid for us at 34% so I am working on videos for the next couple of days. 😂
Looks like canyonlands in Utah@ so I guess there are multiple places that look similar in the US.
Well this is from Arches NP, and its the La Sal Mountains Viewpoint area. The first parking area after you enter Arches NP. Its an amazing place, if you like rock formations. 🙂 Thanks for your comment.

It looked like a black panther! but we don't have those out here. We have lots of cougars...but yes it was a burned stump. 😂
