048 Crimsworth Dean and Dyeworks

The waterways and dams along Crimsworth Dean (valley) were made to supply the Crimsworth Dean Dyeworks at Midgehole which were producers of Fustian (a cotton product similar to corduroy). I had about a dozen ancestors who worked there, the Wild/Wilde family.

Fascinating,it would be wonderful if such places were still working. I'm not familiar with that area but think I started and finished a long walk at Midgehole about 20 years ago,seem to think we parked near a Working Men's Club?
