TITANIUM 3D PRINTED TRUCKS!
Vložit

- These 3D Printed Titanium Trucks were created in partnership with Autodesk and Shapeways.
Using generative design, Autodesk was able to produce a set of skate trucks 45% lighter than regular skate trucks, and using additive manufacturing, something considerably more durable too!
Who says 3D printing is fragile?

I want to see those trucks on a Carbon Fiber deck. See how light you can get a complete board!
Good idea
Braille Skateboarding Yes, please do this. Try to make or source the lightest parts possible that can still withstand Fetty (because I seem to remember Fetty breaks everything) and Carlos's no-fear-robot tricks
only thing left is wheels, which are generally the heaviest part... compared to light trucks anyway. but i dont know, maybe there are some pretty light wheeks out there, mine are always pretty heavy. i skate 52-54mm and like them reasonably hard. so they shouldnt be too heavy. its the rubbery wheels that are heavy.
why am i rambling so much. i could have said all that in half the words.
you guys get to keep those trucks? if so you going to use them as your new main trucks?
pinchflat Yess Daddy
Put those trucks on a carbon fiber deck (3 years later and 3.1k likes woo)… I’ve still never skated a day in my life.
TaylorGrayson indestructible board
A Peralta flight deck
I thought the exact same thing
it would feel like riding a sheet of paper i imagine lol
And make carlos ride it
I'm still waiting for the "kickflip a human" video...
It's really cool how they 3D print titanium. Since it's a really tough metal, it needs to be turned into a powder before going into the machine. That powder gets caked on layer by meticulous layer until it's fully bonded on. Really fascinating that they even utilized 3D printing to work on something so sturdy.
17:42 *carlos does trick perfectly* (someone in the crowd) "mmmh"
Haha
That trick is easy, though. Try it. I haven't skated (tricks) for 15 years, but can do that one any day I step on the board...like twice a year, and it works almost every time
I've done it, it was just flawless once Carlos did it. Made me laugh how someone went, "mmmh"
What is that trick called
Love how Carlos always trying different tricks v entertaining
"The artificial intelligence almost went up my butt."
-Aaron Kyro 2018
No, it did.
Bruh right when I saw this comment Aaron's said that 😂😂
that exactly what they want you to think. your body is filled with mano bots trust me c0v19
I had no clue this video is 2 years old..
robosexual
17:38 Nigel teaching the youngsters to ollie is so genuine.
11:03 Carlos going 'wow' is honestly the best thing I've seen in a while
You really really need to skate it at night to see them sparks.
I agree with maybe some gasoline?
Sure, make sure to use Carlos though because androids cannot burn.
Check out Been Degros's review on theeve titanium trucks. Crazy Sparks
Will do, cheers.
Androids can burn.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 runs on Android.
Use Carlos as a bord
(He’ll be fine Right?)
Eppyiefrapp you spelled board wrong
it’s carlos, he can handle anything
Uros Marinkovic nobody cares
@@dhergier4d4life59 I do
@Tyler Jacobson lol
i came for skating, i left with fear of a robotic uprising xD
You guys have to put these trucks on an carbon deck to make the lightest board evar 😍
Good idea
Has anyone else thought of putting these trucks on the titanium board?
definitely try this
Sean Robinson I guess a titanium deck would be heavier than a carbon on due to that the minimal amount of material needed would still be heavier than carbon fiber.
And hallowed out hardware
3D print Lance?
3D Printed Skategod?! 😱🙌🏻
3D printed terminator Skategod.
Check out Lance's new channel. It's really cool.
What's the name off his channel?
I miss Lance.
6:16 Yes they have
He's called Carlos Lastra
14:57 He's an engineer, He just never can say something is unbreakable, He just can say I'd be impressed if you break it
That was awesome at 4:35 when Sohe said he could bust out a bonus trick at the end *maybe* and everyone was like YEAH and then one female voice off screen just says *NO* . His better half is not putting up with him breaking himself on her watch. Lol.
Hahaha
Those trucks and the golf-ball-dimple board. All the spin.
Alaric Paley ohhh shitttttt
Weird watching a man that believes he's an alien baffled by 3d printing technology.
Hahahahahahaahaha dudee so funny
7:10 is that finger A.I. Printed cause that doesn’t look natural
My thumbs look like that.
Seb haha can't stop laughing 😂👍
Seb My cousins Thumb is almost tilting back at a angle of 90deegres
Peer Brent same
lol gabe thumb
Those truck are soo good so you can mallgrab them and you're not a poser
haha! Yes!
That would be the new flex
Braille Skateboarding rrghg
Love how much attention engineering has given to plain things like skateboarding. Thank you Aaron for being there, I to not think that things like this would have been happening without someone like you around!!!
Thanks so much I am doing my best
One of them: Fetty got new shoes !
Carlos: Noo *I* got new shoes!
I love Carlos 😭❤
I don’t think any skaters are going out to buy $1300 trucks 😂😂😂😂
I’d do it if it was 1300 for both
If they never broke maybe
Actually it would be a good Option for pro Skater but they all have truck sponsors i guess
This isn't meant to be sold yet. The cost to make one truck is 1300 which would mean a pair would go for about 3000 plus at retail. Once they become cheaper to make they will most likely be sold.
@@SuperBlackopsboy99 The price is the metal. Its rare and hard to work with unless you are skilled. Even with the free software to build it for you, still gonna cost a shit load. Do you even know where to get titanium and a hot enough kiln to make it liquid etc>
Aaron, I've been watching you for a long time- even back when you've had baggy pants. I just want you to know that I personally want you to stick with it. You're such an awesome vet of skateboarding, hate to see you lose letters to tricks I know that you could've done.
Sincerely,
-All of your fans
"Are you guy ready?"
- "Yeah, I'm fetty"
cracked me up, way to go
Hahaha
and also fusion 360 is free for students although the generative design is only in the ultimate version. which costs $1500
These trucks+the Ultraflex skateboard would look so sweet
also I love using Autodesk, I've used them professionally, personally and in my college class
This is the best CZcams channel
Sick. One of the greatest vidz.
Thanks!!
This is sooooooo amazing in many ways!!!!
Autodesk has an awesome cameo here. Great suite of tools, and awesome skate equipment.
18:29 Dude, Troy looks so bad ass casual while he's takin photos in the bowl.
He rules
5:32 don’t mind the kid getting jumped in the background😂😂😂
Wtf
lmaooo
“BODIED”
My guy got 2 teamed
I think that was Carlos
Those manuals looked and sounded very smooth
I use autodesk inventor for my job as a CNC operator all the time it’s a great software. This makes the design of the trucks even more impressing to me knowing that they’re probably made with inventor damn
Aaron: Carlos be careful
Carlos: Whats careful
I wanna see these trucks used on a high ollie challenge!
Me too
all of those tricks were sick!!!
bro seriously the pop on that is so clean!
Work with these guys more please !
We will
You can literally hear the difference between them and normal trucks, it's so weird. Like everything just sounds smooth.
Exactly
its all the special geometry in the metal
SKATEBOARD TECHNOLOGY!! BEST BRAILLE VIDEO EVER
I live in billings montana and I heard that you grew up in red lodge so I thought that it was pretty cool that you grew up not to far from here. I have started skateboarding yet because I need a board, but I watch you guys and plan to learn from you.
you really learn everybodies go to and weaknesses watching you guys skate
True. We all know them also it’s dangerous
THE BRAILLE DROP!!! With them trucks
😱
Watch until the end!!!
I love watching y'all skate wish I could get back to skateboarding would love to come down and y'all teach me some tricks
For real this guys from Autodesk? Wow, awesome!!! 💯
I have only seen a titanium 3d printer at the SpaceX factory. They are crazy huge and expensive.
Yup, laser sintering. Certainly not a home machine! :P
Yep, mind blown
Braille Skateboarding so he works at space x? Or he has his own
They'd design the 3D files and send them to Shapeways to be printed, I imagine.
Koenigsegg prints car parts with those too. Titanium exhaust tips and whole turbos with innards from stainless steel.
Dope 🔥 I want to skate using those 😎
They were so light!
Carlos the Skate GOOOD!! Speechless Carlos!
even though i've already watched this video when it was first released, youtube perpetually recommends it to me for some reason. i'm not complaining, i'd rather have this on the side of my screen than whatever schlock is normally there, it's just weird that it's this specific video.
My mans Aaron is wearing a sweater in 100 degree weather whatta savage
Hahahaha so savage
Braille Skateboarding haha Lol i got happy cause you responded
That's awesome Braille!!
Thank you
This is AWESOME!
I've been practicing ollies for a couple of months and i just cant get the board level i can do it good ish but its the leveling the board part that gets me and i've already seen all of your how to vids multiple times they help a lot but its the back end i cant get level :( Still love skateboarding and your Channel,You guys are the best ;) love you Carlos and everybody else
Carlos is sick at skateboarding...he is a a tobor!!!!
Haha
why does he do that to himself? the drop I mean. his knees must be rip in a few years :(
This is sic I want a pair
TheBerg366 also long as he doesn’t quit cold turkey he should be fine.
I'm glad that there's a Carlos out there that isn't a failure like me.
You're not a failure.
@@jordanr6639 you dont know that lol
They look like a pair of grindkings I used to have back in the day. They had a cutout on each side of the truck. Wish grind king was still around.
So many great videos but this is just AMAZING. Carlos has titanium balls.
Next time you're at Fremont show us some footage of one of our next generation of skaters landing something when I was seven I wasn't tre flipping a 5 or a 7 bet you some of these kids can so why do people hate haha or dropping in on the vert ramp at Woodward that the kid in that videos 110 percent a great skateboarder
Carlos needs to make a shirt that says CARLOS WEY
Incredible video!
Actually, I was working with Autodesk while I watched this video :D Anyway this was super cool!!
You need to send one of those to Johnny Giger. Would be interesting to see him shred those with his flatground tricks.
That's a great idea!
Braille Skateboarding then do it
Random Dude square up
Nice video
they look really good tbh
love your hard work
I was reading the comments to see what happened after when he said that at 1:57
Am I really watching a Braille video? The trucks are bolted down with 4 screws each
We didn’t put them on haha
gold.
keep up the good work love from denmark
i loved how nigel get mad or never land a trick he always go hug people 🥺
Ayeee I’m from Montana!!!😁
You should put these trucks on the carbon fibre board to make a super ultra light board
Great idea!!
I had titanium trucks one time when I was younger. There was a company called ti-light. Their trucks were really light and impossible to break lol. Only thing I didn't like about him is they didn't want to stay tight.
I love how Aaron explains the computers and how it works
Titanium trucks off the Braille drop plz
We did it! Watch to the end!
These are like Krux trucks, times a million! Laser sintering 3d printing is NOT cheap. Instead of 3D printers you're probably used to (deposits plastic one layer at a time), this uses a computer controlled laser to fused a fine metal powder. Usually a company owns one, not a single person. And you can already buy 3D printed shoes! :D
And the whole "AI" thing is used in programs like Fusion 360 (that you can get a full featured free trial of!) that uses cloud computing and some fancy software to do stress-test modeling and basically optimizes the design you've made for the stresses you can expect on it.
😳
I've been using Theeves TIH for years, the hangers are titanium and they're axleless. Not sure if you guys noticed when you grind them they tent to stop a bit by friction at some point. Another fun fact is that if you grind them non stop they start to burn the concrete to the point that you can smell it, and they spark a lot. The sound of the grind is different than a normal aluminum truck, is more thin. I like the design of those but it can get improve it a lot more
I love 3D printing and I use a CAD program that is part of the company Autodesk. Autodesk is one of the best businesses in the field if not the best.
try build lightest deck setup possible
Incredible idea! 🙌🏻
Glad they finally took it back to the skatepark lol
Me too. Trying to get there more before it starts to rain
Nice! Would have been interesting to see how the aluminum version holds up as well and what it cost to make those!
I think they'd wear quite quickly grinding concrete as theres not much surface area on the grind face of the truck plus it looks a lil angular so I would guess would catch on stuff real easy
I shat myself when i heard the price for them. Thats crazy!!
Crazy right?!
"I'm not crying, I just have sun block in my eyes" - Aaron Kyro 2018
This ideal for the markforged continuous fiber printing process. You can get it even lighter
I think they should 3d print straps that surface the area skaters use mostly. With an imprinted key to replace then and have them strap in an almost figure 8 design across the strings. Would be cool.
Aaron: you guys ready?
fetty: yeah! im fetty
ı laughed so hard man:DDDDDDD
Amazig that could be the future it seems like they last forever ps. Fabian is in the states please make videos with him again. Keep on skating all around the world!!
Totally
They look sick
Christian Slater really needed these trucks in Gleaming The Cube. They'd go well with that sweet diamond plate deck.
imagine flying into lawndale and hitting him in the face with titanium trucks
Is it just me or is there a echo?
Aron sound so wierd
Yes i hear it too
I hear robots
it's because, almost everyone has a mic and they are ON at the same time.
Nah its they r just robots
Cool
great video thanks, this one was awesome. I'm a big tech geek and software developer, so this is ace. Protip btw audio editing, chain a limiter up in your software man, or bump it up. those loud yells i dunno if it's the braille style but anyone with headphones is getting random eardrum damage, or in my case, super loud stuff in the night across the house :D
you can keep the spirit of the yell without the actual large output. look at aggressive electronic music styles, they control distortion and levels without compromising grit and presentation
Dude those titanium trucks are literally indestructible.
Why haven't there been carbon fiber bearings put on all this sexy skate tech? And this dude talking about "A.I. is still kinda dumb." Have you not heard of the Singularity?
Fettys reaction when he felt the weight sounded like Owen Wilson “Whoaw.”
I use Fusion everyday at work. Keen to get into more generative design
This just gave me a good idea! How about using a.i to design boards to be perfect for each person. No one will have the same board, because the a.i designed for that person so it’ll be easier for them to skate or make them skate better!!
