i’m a vet assistant working at general animal hospital and omg the way people will go off on us because of pricing is crazy, like i can’t control pricing it’s out my hands at that point but how you mentioned we as humans have insurance so it’s not as much but we always strongly recommend pet insurance just in case an emergency because it’s really sad when people can’t afford to have proper care for their animals ☹️
😢 that’s horrible. I didn’t say anything besides cry bc we were charge 5 grand and didn’t have money. Found on credit somehow. Was an emergency. My baby was there for 3 days. He’s doing better. ❤
My teenage son wants a dog desperately and this is exactly what I keep explaining to him, pets especially dogs cost as much if not more than a human to care for especially if they get sick or hurt. We have 2 cats now and their routine visits and the occasional sick visits are enough. I definitely said if we get a dog we will have pet insurance and he has to help cover the cost since it’ll be his dog. Hope your kitty recovers well ❤

Just finished watching that 50 part story and so glad you guys are talking about it!!!
I took my dog to the vet bc she was acting weird. Spent $300 to get X-rays to find out that she potentially had ruptured something and was internally bleeding. My vet was so kind and straight up told me “you can take your dog to the ER to have an emergency surgery which would cost around $5k but since your dog is a senior, she might not recover”. So I asked the vet what should I do bc I cannot afford that. And he replied “don’t let her suffer much longer”. I had to make the decision to end her suffering within 24 hours. It was so traumatizing. 2 years later and I have yet to get another pet😔

As a Swiftie(who hasn’t and won’t be going to the Eras Tour😩), I can see how the reaction could be seen as “too much”. But hearing YOUR song on a night you weren’t in the stadium, that’s crushing. I cried when Taylor played my favorite song, New Years Day, the last night in LA. And cried again when she played it in Sydney with another one of my favorite songs. I was in Georgia last week and American Airlines desk people were SOOOOO rude, had to book another flight, the only one coming to Dallas was Frontier and my gosh, that was the absolute worst.

My 2 sisters are vets (doctors) and I can confirm security is so necessary to keep them safe. Both my sisters comp things off the bill and discount as much as they can and still get attacked!
Its so sad anything medical here in the US is so expensove for pets or people. My husband and I are 30k in debt from his cancer treatment and we have insurance! We are struggling and its hard but we Thank God everyday that he is okay now and healthy! 🙏🏻 Glad your doggy is doing well Manny im sure whatever it is it will be taken care of correctly 💖💝

My husky needed major surgery, hospitalization,and treatment. I got Trupanion and it only covered for hospitalization and took like 90 days for them to pay back. That was the only time they approved medical bills. Follow ups, scans, and meds were never covered after that. I finally cancelled them because it’s soooo expensive to pay each month to just not get anything back.

Going thru your itemized bill at the vet is so important! Not every vet will do this, but some will try to sneak in extra procedures that may not be relevant just to hike up the bill. That’s why it’s so important to look at everything and advocate for yourself and your pet! And if something doesn’t make sense and you can’t find your own answers, ask questions.

Dang… after you showed the clip of the girl at the Taylor Swift concert so emotional at the song I was not expecting you to make fun of her. If you’ve never had a special connection with a song I guess I can see how it would seem like too much. But you don’t know her story or what she’s been through - and for her to finally hear a song live that means to much to her was overwhelming. That song saved her life? I’m so happy she finally got to hear it live.
I think most people just found it funny because it seems like an obviously manufactured / performative reaction as opposed to a genuine one.
But she didn’t really get to hear it and enjoy it due to screaming & crying 😢

Trupanion is great Manny it’s worth it get it before they diagnose her with something!! ALSO I’ve worked in the veterinary field for so long and clients and their pets are so stressed and highly overwhelmed and it’s especially the CAT people, sorry Laura but the cat people are the insane ones😂😂😂 IDK WHY 💀 literally everything manny is so true about the way we go over exactly everything and itemize it hella , we do our best 😭❤️
My parents had to pay 10,000 for an ACL surgery (and we have pet insurance) so it ended up being 8,000 for our mastiffs and if they couldn't pay the vet said they would re-home her.....thankfully my parents are fortunate enough to be able to pay for that but imagine if we couldn't!!!!!! Vet bills are insane :( it's sad
