MLB ball girls started back in the early 70s.
Miss Texas was Daniella Rodriguez and she ended up marrying the Astros Shortstop Carlos Correa. He proposed to her on tv when they won the World Series in 2017.
Every pitch is not actually a different ball, but pitchers can ask for a new ball anytime. In a typical MLB game they go through about 100-150 balls. Once pulled from a game a ball is not used again. The balls get dirty, scuffed, and scratched up which pitchers can use to put extra spin on the ball. Umpires frequently check the balls to make sure they don’t get too scuffed up. In the early days of MLB the balls were brown leather and so dirty it sometimes became hard for batters to see them. A batter was actually hit by a pitch and killed which led to changes in how often they throw out used balls.
Morgana was a common sight at games in the early 80s. She would wear her tight shirt, run onto the field and kiss a selected player. You never knew where she would show up. And it was sort of a badge of honor to be selected for a kiss from Morgana!
Hhahaha wtf
The average MLB game uses 84-120 balls per game.
It is tradition that if you catch a foul ball in your beer they will keep the camera on you until you chug the whole beer. At least it used to be
Not every ball pitched is a new ball. Only if hit ground or scuffed by a bat . Usually a beeliner right to catchers mit is thrown back
to pitcher. Sometimes pitcher will not like the feel because of loose stitch or something and give signal to change ball
Sitting on a ball bucket is kinda tradition hahaha
She did chug the beer, the video just didn't show it.
It's so obvious which ones are athletes themselves. Like there's no in-between.
Crazy enough it's actually called an umpires ball bag
The ball girls serve two purposes, one is to protect the crowd and the other is to keep the foil balls from going on to the field.
You can get off a bucket quicker than u can get off a chair. In all directions as well.u guys are awesome love ur channel.
Guys check out the XFL as the NFL ends. It’s a lower-level pro football league starting back up in the spring. It started in the 90s and failed. Then it came back in 2019 and got off to a welcomed return until the pandemic ruined the season about halfway though. It will be back the weekend after the Super Bowl! Check out the top moments/highlights from the 2020 season as an icebreaker. It’ll help you get your American football fix over the offseason!
Sara Silverman’s standup comedy is GREAT! (She used to be married to Jimmy Kimmel…The funniest talk show host)
I had seats behind 3rd base in Oakland, and the balls would come at you from 90-100 miles per hour. The balls are hard, and I've seen balls hit people in the head or mouth and they were taken away by medical staff bleeding. Baseball has a way of putting people into a daydreaming place, but you can't be like that if a batter is up at the plate, or you could end up with a serious injury.
"Most beautiful" according to whom?
Before even watching this, I know Mike won’t blink while the video is playing
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not every pitch is a different ball. But in the Major Leagues they do use a ton of balls in a game. Like 100 baseballs. In high school and below they might use a rotation of 10 baseballs in a game, and if a foul ball is hit out of play, somebody will retrieve the ball and get it back to the umpire and put it back in the rotation. In professional baseball, fans keep the ball.
I would be interested in seeing if either one of the OB could catch anywhere near as good as those girls
We play cricket mate. We know how to catch 😉
Damn those Emirates flight attendants are beautiful.
"No bad hops there" ba dump bump.
Dave keeps grabbing the mic like it's a big black cawk.
All,the balls are numbered so the umpire would be able to identify which ball it was.
7:00 and 10:30
That is, Morganna "The Kissing Bandit". She was active from 1969 to 1999. She was arrested 19 times.
Ball girls are typically softball players. Record setting balls are numbered by MLB for authentication.
The ceremonial opening pitch happens at every ball game. It's not typically anyone that prominent, but they have someone do it every game (sometimes more than one person does it).
Sarah Silverman is one of the best female comedians, u guys should try some clips
Wasn’t a hairbrush….She was video taping the field from her phone.
Yes, that is the culture at games, adults give kids the ball unless it’s a home run ball worth something, and in Philadelphia at Phillies games an adult who doesn’t give a kid the ball will get heckled
I'm from San Diego. Yes, the Padres have proper ball girls.
It's harder to hit a fast pitch softball than it is to hit a fast pitch hard ball. The angle of the softball makes it difficult to connect.
I remember for some major homeruns like Bonds breaking the home run record there was like an official guy around and guards so when it landed and someone caught it they could escort them out and verify the ball. If i recall the balls were also numbered so they knew exactly what ball it was.
These yong ladies can make some nice catches.
The ball boys and ball girls a lot of time also get to play catch with left or right fielders in between innings to help warm them up. A friend of mines son did it for a minor league team for a few years.
Gotta react to Jomboy
They don’t use a different ball on every pitch. Only when one goes out of play or the ball sets scuffed/damaged. If the pitch is not hit and doesn’t hit the ground, they keep using it.
There is one where the ballgirl makes a catch at the outfield wall and does a two step jump climb up the wall to make a mid air catch. Even the players couldn't believe it. I'm surprised its not in here, Here it is. czcams.com/video/xKJZ0Qzrxr4/video.html
Because it was for a commercial.
I remember one girl scaling the LF foul wall like a pro on the field, friggin Spidergirl. Maybe it was the Big Green Monster? Amazing.
Fun videos 👍✌️🏢🚹🚹🚹
fake ,it was for a commercial.
Notice most of the ball girls are at the San Diego Padres stadium. Ball boys have been in baseball for nearly a hundred years. They used to pick up the bats as well.
Imo the Padres ball girls are top tier. They are most of the clips in basically all the vids like this one. This is from a braves fan fyi.
Sort of an unwritten rule is to give the ball to a nearby kid. Let them take home a tangible memory of the experience. Many parks and adult who takes a ball away from a kid who had a shot at it will get boo'd and harassed. It's just a dick move.
The ball boys/ball girls are also there to keep stray balls from maiming fans cause there's usually no nets down the sides only behind. And i think you're right, I believe it was traditionally "ball boys" and overtime they let girls do it too. So i think they were pointing out that time was changing.
for a good laugh try the worst first pitches.
I think we did that already right?
50 Cent
10:26 “Just play with them” you said what we were all thinking Daz good one
"beautiful girls"
The second girl who caught the ball caught a fair ball she messed up a bad play
Ball girls isn't a new thing. I don't know what that Cincinnati announcer was getting at.
Ballgirls goes back to the 1970s. I think Oakland was the first team to have one. If you guys have Mrs. Fields cookies in England, the first ballgirl later went on to found that company. (Looks it up).
OK, she was one of the first ballgirls -beginning when she was a girl - not even a teen. It began in 1968.

The Blokes should do "First pitches." Some of the celeberties cannot throw a pitch.
someone keep a close eye on the dude who made that compilation lmfao
React to Shohei Ohtani please. He is the best MLB player right now
Anywhere from 84-120 baseballs are used in a Major League Baseball game. Balls are replaced if they are scuffed up so a pitcher can't use thst to his advantage in making balls dart around more than usual. Also foul balls and home runs are not returned to the game but are kept by the fans.
every pitch isn't a different ball if the catcher catches it and throws it back..... and Dave its not normal to have a ballboy attendant.
There's at least 3 plays where the ball girl grabbed a ball that was in-play and gave the team a double.
Ok..
Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball from 1998 sold for $3.05 million
Definitely worth watching some College Softball and Little League World Series clips.
Sarah Silverman is quite athletic. She plays pickup basketball in her spare time.
Every pitch is NOT a new ball. That's fricken insane. Tjhey use 'em until they are scuffed up too much for accurate pitching.
Gotta do a reaction video to Softball now guys
"Most Beautiful Girls Moments." Right away a 13 year old. Then a 15 year old. Who made this compilation, Anthony Cumia?
Nah, it was “Sniffy” Joe Biden.
Prince Andrew
Your dad probably 😶
Bill Cobsy
If the first girl is 13 then I’m Obama
Can't wait for the Superbowl
Morganna the Kissing Bandit probably has enough content for her own video.
I completely forgot about her.
Funny enough baseball doesn’t exist did one on her
You never want to be the person doing the opening pitch. It is a no win situation especially for celebrities. George Bush did it as President and he practiced before going out because no one wants to become a meme.
Educate yourselves!!! Ball is fair past the base...then it can go wear ever it goes, and it's fair. Ball girls save time chasing down balls and often protect spectators from getting smacked. Kid congregate in the corners for balls.
The reason they are sitting on buckets. Is there are buckets all around because that’s how you carry the balls. Then you use them to sit on.
during the commercial break the ball boy or girl will normally throw around the ball with either team’s outfield so they don’t have to sit there for hours.
Celebrating Luke Kuechly, Smartest Linebacker in the game | NFL Films presents... NFL Films is how a lot of people become fans. The interviews, and game footage are next level.
When I think of "Ball attendant", I think of the bath scene from Coming to America
In the MLB they use a new ball anytime the previous ball hits the dirt or the bat as any kind of scuff on the ball might be used by the pitcher to manipulate the throw.
A good follow up to this might be reacting to the Tennis Madrid Open, when someone had the idea of using models as ball women dressed in Hugo Boss gear!
Sometimes when a career accomplishments happen and a ball is worth a lot, the player will want the ball and will offer season tickets money and jerseys etc. Depending on the significance of the situation.
It isn't easy to sit on a bucket then catch a hard hit ball. I have been to a lot of major league games and never seen a catch as good as these. Also, MLB has put netting up in the areas where these girls were sitting. Too many fans got hit by balls and bats.
And that's not her husband at 8:50. If you're wondering, that's Sarah Shahi.
Hey could you blokes react to all the NFL super bowl wins thank you
React to some NHL goals/saves!
Ms. Texas threw out the first pitch at an Astros game and ended up marrying Astros shortstop Carlos Correa.
Mike "Is it every match?" Oh Mike, bless your heart.
I don't get it. Is it every match?
@@elijahfoster2 In Baseball, it's a game, Tennis would be a match
@@diggity1039 but is it every match?
@@elijahfoster2 It's not called a match.
I believe Baseball might have the best chance of integration of females into professional male sports. I could see a female pitcher Ala Greg Maddox style. Just great control of the ball.
And most of them can't throw from the pitcher's mound
Office Dave you were very correct in saying how difficult it is to keep your attention and makes plays like those. Baseball as a whole is such a mental game that requires a lot of attention even when the game is going slow. Well done Mate!
Requires a lot of mental game just to watch it and not fall a sleep while it goes on for 43 hours with nothing happening.
@Plague Doc well you must not understand the game fully then. And 43 hours?? 🤣 I must have missed that legendary game! I will so tho, something very soothing about falling asleep to a ball game
@@Ordzo88 The average game is over 3 hours long...and you sometimes go over an hour or two without a score. That's dreadful.
@Plague Doc it certainly is when you don't understand the game, mate 🙃 That would be like an American saying soccer (sorry futbol) is dreadful cause the game can end in a draw or only have a couple goals. They would be ignorant IMO and just don't understand the game ya know? Ehh just my opinion tho!
@@Ordzo88 But that sport is on average 2 hours long. Your sport is 50% longer. Not to mention baseball has so many short breaks in between batting for example. Atleast in soccer its going for 45 minutes excluding fouls, but that time gets added on.
I understand the sport, It's just terribly dreadful to watch and drawn out. There should be like 6-8 innings instead.
I believe that's part of the reason the viewership for the sport has dropped off massively. World series in 2022 had an average of 11.8 million viewers, that's less than 50% of 2016 which had 23.8
The sport is just not as exciting to watch and too long. Especially in todays world where everyone has a 5 second attention span.
