I love how the pace car is fighting for it's life while Vettel drives pretty much at idle.

Yeah, can only guess how the sound would be with full throttle, this was slow pace. Still happy to have seen it live in Galgenkpopf, still awesome sound at half throttle. :)
I bet half the spectators would have stayed home, had they known Vettel would be wrapped in those moving chicanes. Considered going from Italy, and boy am i glad i didn't.
I was suspecting Red Bull might do something like this but I didn't expect Seb with that glorious V8. This made my day

I nearly cried of excitement and had goosebumps all over my body when the F1 cars went by. I would've loved to be at the Nordschleife, but sadly the V10 was only on the Nürburgring, which is why I stayed there

These cars were so much better than the current v6 generation. The racing was insane and the field was quite close packed together.

@@dohvakin68people always get caught up in the one team that's head and shoulders above everyone else. Probably because they get more TV time for some reason. I agree though, if you look at the midfield at a macro level, there is some fierce competition in there, and upgrades causing teams to shuffle around in performance. Just ignore redbull and we'd have a great championship on the calendar.

everyone is talking about the red bulls but i loved the ferrari 312T just as much. that was a time where the driver made the difference not just the car. manual unsynchronized gears no electronics almost no downforce. love it

this whas really a great weekend . on friday eve on audenaur forst seeing them doing test laps and filming . saturday the sound on the start finish line 😇 . in the evening back 2 adenaur forst for the 6 hours NLS 👍 in the dark pfff . ik wil je bedanken voor alle goede content die je maakt ook samen met stateside 👌

I like how the change from these in to the modern era separated the people who watch for the cars vs people who watch for the technology.

Rubbish. It was just for precautions and all the red tape garbage that would have had to do to let these cars on the track.

Honestly, go look at the kind of cars that drive around there at full whack, if they crashed those guys could kill themselves easily. F1 cars can go into a wall at 200mph these days and the driver will walk away with bruising. Every year people get killed in motorsport all over the world, look at the Isle of Man TT to name just one such case.
Yet, in some of the safest cars, people are still trying to wrap the best drivers in the world in cotton wool.
F1 could absolutely race here with sensible precautions and it would be no more dangerous than any other track where tragedies can and have happened. I would almost guarantee that, given the chance, Vettel and DC would have gone for it.
The more likely reason for F1 never returning here is that it would cost a lot of money to take the above sensible precautions.

@@therealtechfromheaven F1 cars wouldn't fly away like a GTR, the amount of downforce they produce is massive. Their weight can increase by 2-3 times once at speed. 'What about when they are going too slow for considerable downforce' I hear you ask.
Well then they aren't going to take off and/or get hurt.
Cars race on the ring that are far less safe than F1 cars, one such example you pointed out. Look at Zhou's crash at Silverstone or Aloso's in Australia 2016. They walked away, no damage.
How many wingsuiters die? Rock climbers? Skiers? Mountain bikers?

@@nuckels188 Yeah, but it's dangerous in the eyes of the organisers. If something happens, they at least had safety precautions. However, the commentators mentioned they had to drive behind the pace car, because of Germany's absurd noise regulation, so there would be a pace car anyways
I'm sure they have set days per year where certain race cars are allowed on track that breach the decibel limit, the surrounding villagers are made aware its on these set days

I'm sure he was pushing as much as the safety car in front would allow, which isn't enough to get the demonstration compound tires and brakes up to temperature. It is still great to hear the old beasts driving around a track so I'll appreciate it for what it is.

It's the first "modern" F1 car to drive the Nordschleife in 20+ years.
No it's not. I think it was either in the 60s or 70s, when the F1 cars were as fast as todays supercars, they actually raced there. But they realised it was way too dangerous. I think there were deaths involved and Nicki Lauda had a rough accident as well there. So yeah, it's not the first time an F1 car has been on the Nordschleife.
