The ""...it just works" mission of iOS.
Is actually what enables Anki to do this. A pretty much set hardware specs and host system.
Anki can therefore put their time at perfecting what they aim to do with this, which is no simple task, I'm very impressed.
If they succeed, then it's probably just a matter of time when it will be available to other platforms.
I would love this with classic cars, no weapons, just classic racing. I assume there is a no weapon mode.
Now just to wait a few years for anki fly :D

So I asked Perplexity for some help with introducing my friend to examples of what AI can do.
He’s into cars and it recommended this. This is 9 years old though! 😮 I’m gutted I didn’t know about this sooner.
Hi +Anki I have a quick suggestion. What is the cars could refuel at fuelling stations? What if the cars could run out if fuel or get faster when they had lots? Maybe, there could be a point system where you could upgrade your weapons or get better fuels that would make your car more adaptive and agile. I think Anki are the next generation of toys, and I want to be involved in it.

I would have been the same age if I knew about this 9yrs ago. It’s amazing that a lot of what people are saying in the comments can just be promoted into existence, within a few sentences.
i think that anki overdrive is better than anki drive because you can make your own tracks and there's more weapons to go through and you can upgrade your cars.

@@kungfudell07 i did forget to mention that you can still play the original app but only on android now, also you can use anki drive stuff on anki overdrive (also why am i saying anki when its now digital dream labs), so you can reuse what you have
I've been wandering about this since the apple conference. If I put a book on the track, would it adapt and dodge it? Or would it simply bump into it? A customizable race track would be really sweet.

Hello there. I have a suggestion for one of your future products. I think that the next type of product. I think it should be a similation racing game. A type of racing game with laps for the race and no weapons or anything like that. With the way the tracks are setup I think you should try a NASCAR game(This is coming from a nascar fan). I have always dreamed of having the entertainment of the sport right to my living room. Or just a similation that covers the basics of this simple type of motorsport. You dont have to get license from nascar either. But if you did that would be amazing. Maybe switch the field from a maximum from 4 cars to 8 or 10(if that is possible) And then change the format to a lapped race instead of a weapon battle. If you could change the way the bodys are and make them look like the ones they currently run, that would be absolutely amazing. And if you cant get the license, maybe try to get sponsors. Or sell blank bodies for us to customize. This is just a suggestion, but if you could do that, it would be like a dream come true. Thanks.
Android isn't as fragmented as you may think, with most devices running API Level 14 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or above.
Even then, creating an app isn't much different, the only real difference between Android versions are the API's available to you to use.

I was looking up cool gadgets of 2013, trying to think of what I wanted for Christmas, and this just hit the top of my list. I've always been into racing games, and this looks awesome. Just wondering, will you sell new tracks in the future? I'd love to have a collection of race tracks to roll out and race with my friends.
thats untill you realize that its been 9 years and they still have not launched it. And you have to pay 3 dollars to play the original which is just puré dogshit

You have to use it on the track only.
so what is the difference between anki overdrive and this because on the site it only shows the 2 supertrucks and the 6 supercars.

Cool gift for your kid , next they should expand the line , i want an 1/8 scale out door version that doesn't run on a fixed track , with a camera ! and sorry i dont care much for the ai unless we can program them to run on a real rc track .. Then i think you should have a tiny car for indoors with a track more like f-1 ... Anki should hire me lol i already have 1000 ideas
I would of preferred a reply of "Android version coming soon". :-) But this looks like it could be the perfect gift for my friends kids with iOS devices.......I will just hang out their house all the time.

Karvak, tell me again how iOS 7 works on all versions of iPhones etc and not just 5 if you want all the features and remind me why that is not called badly fragmented? (You did say AS and I appreciate that...but....:-) )

This is literally everything I'd ever imagined as a child, playing with track cars. This makes me wish i was a kid again! Now I'm going into uni and i can imagine myself making things like this!
but seriously guys, you HAVE to bring this to android aswell. Android is a major part of the phone market, if not the leaders, and more people will be able to buy your product if you do!

I don't understand why this is IOS only. As of 2013 Android has 38% market share globally while IOS and MacOS combined only have 11.7% market share. You don;t have to take my word for it though just do a google search for "Windows worldwide market share is stuck at 15% and falling" and the first link goes to an October 2013 article on the Computer World website.

I would buy this in a second if it was offered for Android. The type of people that grew up on slot cars and liked to customize/tinker with their toys are also the type of people that are not attracted to the "it just works" mission of iOS.
Seeing this made me feel like a kid opening a Sega Genesis on Christmas morning, just to find out it was a box full of clothes. I hope you guys are just trolling us with the iOS-only spec...
I would love to do a POPUP food truck event with your product and crowdpurr.. have you seen their live events? I think these would be sweet.. check out street quick revolution.. setup a large track in middle of a parking lot and have people bring their own cars which event to even will evolve.. and have food trucks..live music.. etc.. display brands and info on the cars on the crowdpurr wall, and users can vote etc using crowdpurr..
Just whipped 3 hard level AI cars. Close score though. Katal reflective shield for 25000 pull a reversal for the last point.

I don't think so, there are plenty of people also willing to spend the money to buy the high end line of the Android phones. Even if they don't, having a 'cheap plastic phone' doesn't make them poor.
I own a couple hundred dollar phone, but I've bought multiple guitars in the past few years, and they sure ain't cheap.

Anki Why is it so expensive? It looks like amazing fun, and I would probably have all of it if it weren't so expensive. Hopefully I can get it soon though. Other than the price, it looks amazing. Thanks for revolutionizing the modern game though. :D. Keep up the good work.

Hi, sorry to disturb but I really really really don't understand what is the big deal with Anki... All the videos that I see just make it look like any basic racing (video or not) game. Except that it's written in big "AI". But seriously considering its price there is no way that I buy this if I don't see anything convincing... Is there any video which actually displays what Anki has that others don't??

iOS is 100 times more stable and error-free than android and is probably one of the reasons they did this. And also, i disagree with you, i am the kind of person you mention about but still, i prefer iOS over Android ( i also owned android on a Samsung S3 but enough of that ).

A lot of cheap plastic phones being sold doesn't equal a great choice for releasing something like this. iOS owners are more likely to appreciate this, not to mention spend the money. I'm sure an ugly sister Android compatible version will come along eventually...

Too bad you are only thinking mostly about North American markets (where most Apple consumers are), markets like Europe would also enjoy this "game" you created, but don't expect this to sell there if you keep it IOS only, since other brands like Android and Windows Mobile actualy rule.
You dont control the car at all it's all auto pilot I watched another actual vid about this product and it will get really boring really fast was a decent idea just not fun for long
Its disappointing that this is being released on a dying OS. You would have gotten a lot more people buying this if it was for Android. Including me.
