- In the late 1970's, a spiritual earthquake was about to affect the oldest Amish settlement of Missouri in the small town of Bowling Green. Its tremors would be felt around the world in the Amish and Baptist faith.
When Ervin Bontrager was confronted about his religion by Carl Hasty, the flame of conviction ignited. This wild fire of the glorious Light of the Gospel began to grow into a blaze as it enlightened the hearts of many more families, and the blaze continues to widen today.
God's Word does not return void as evidence by this film. May you be pricked in the heart to be a planter or waterer of the Seed that is the Word of God.

@@jturner2577 I am born a Jew, thinking I could earn heaven and also to reject Jesus. When I had everything in life i was empty inside and decided to kill myself, that week God sent a man to share the gospel with me of His love and forgiveness and friendship, and i came to His amazing grace. Joy to the World, listen to what your grandmothers told you. I ended up leading my grandma to the Messiah reading Isaiah 53 with her..she got the joy of salvation too in Him.
THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM. Knowing the severity of The Lord men depart from evil. GODS HOLY SPIRIT leads ppl to Live HOLY. FEAR is not wrong unless it's a yoke!

Who says they weren't following Christ before, their culture was different that's all. They broke away from their culture and changed their pov regarding the scriptures. Not all interpret the scriptures the same and not one can say they are 100% correct. We are too quick to point fingers at other churches because we all think we are in the right one.

I was once in a cult and it is only.by the sheer grace and mercy of God that I came out of darkness into God's marvellous light. You too, if you are willing to read the New Testament with an open mind, and especially the Gospel of John, will come to know that you need to be born again, born of the Spirit from heaven above.
The conversions in this documentary are genuine conversion, and from thousands of miles away, in a far-off land, I can say emphatically that God worked wonders among these young Amish couples. That they have kept their faith vibrant over 40 years is itself proof of the amazing, almighty power of God, and, of course, His abounding grace!

@@blessed4737 my dad was raised by Amish. I'll always be grateful for the things they taught him about work ethic and how to be a real man and dad. I'll always cherish my childhood friends that we would play with in the barn here in Ohio. I have many MORMISH (Amish who are now Mormon) friends who I deeply cherish. I'm so going that you'll be happy, prosper n remain blessed by the gospel of Jesus Christ

wow, this video helps me understand what I have been through as born a Jew taught my good works would get me to heaven, & told by my mom she would have a funeral for me and I would lose my inheritance too, if I did not give Jesus up. Since then i led her mom reading Isaiah 53 with her to forgiveness, and friendship in salvation in amazing grace, and now my Mom & Dad has come too. I have no regrets, He has been everything to me.....thanks an Amazing video

I called upon the Name of the Lord (and his Name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth) and got saved.
I lost children, dear friends, and finally God took my spouse. But He himself became my best friend and my beloved husband as I have learned to walk beside Him, following His clear promptings, wise guidance, and learning
more about His goodness and mercies day by day.
He never ceases to amaze me in how He works through people whom you least expect.
May we all continue to work in His field until harvest time. ❤️
I haven't been a Baptist for over 30 years, but this pastor seems to be a good pastor. No one should say that you can't go to a family funeral. That is flat out WRONG! You don't tell anyone that he/she can't go to a parent's funeral, no one.
That's just cruel, mean and heartless. Of course people should be allowed to attend a funeral. Where's their forgiveness, their acceptance, their decency? That's just plain horrible.
No one should tell you , you can’t see anyone or do anything you don’t want to do and punish you like that for it. You have your own free will to ask for forgiveness from God..NOT the community or elders!!
Yes where is God's love in this kind of behavior.?
Remembering when I was saved and facing my own fears of the unknown brought tears of Joy all over again as I watched these incredibly courageous families follow Christ. The way that He placed Pastor Stowe in the right place at the right time was truly Devine! God Blessed you tremendously! May He continue to Bless your generations! 💕 Hallelujah!!!

@Floyd Yoder, this documentary is so beautiful! Praise God for drawing the Amish in that community to Himself, and praise God for Mr. Hasty and Pastor Stowe's ministry to the vulnerable folks coming out of a works-righteousness mindset.
Beautiful testimonies of God's grace reaching these dear people who are so heavy laden with works of the flesh. Jesus words are so true "come unto me and I will give you rest."

I live in Intercourse Pennsylvania, I’ve tried teaching the word of god to my women of the Amish Community and one found out by their husbands I have had my Bible throne through my car and out my other window they don’t want to hear the word maybe they’re afraid but I still try until the Lord calls me home.

I've been to Intercourse PA. Such beauty up there. The landscape .... Oh my... And the jelly is delicious. I don't know much about the Amish community but I don't like the way they stop the kids education.
Control from some of the community, especially the so called Person that represents the pastor. They sometimes pick who the girls are marrying. Plus he controls the money from other workers of business. Then if they leave they do not own the homes they have put their money into. I pray and ask God to bless them in the decision to move toward God. If they believe and keep Gods focus. God never intended for men to act as women were slaves.

God hates the sin of pride. The Amish have been told for centuries that their way of life is the only way to heaven and most aren't willing to let go of their tradition and admit that they're wrong.
What humble and delightful folks. Made me cry. God loves humility more than anything else. I’m so happy for you all! I’ve learned a lot from you.

I grew up in Philadelphia Baptist Church! That’s the church I accepted Christ at, where I got married 46 years ago. This video blessed my heart so very much! What a wonderful God we serve!
Watching and listening to these people express their feelings, struggles and true faith reminded me again of my parents, now gone. My parents left the Amish in a very similar way in the 1950's. They also left with friends, shunning and a bishop from the Amish church. My dad's favorite scripture was Psalm 27. My heart is so moved with new respect for the struggles they had, trying to parent us during a time of deep trauma along with their joyful faith. Thank you to all the those who shared so freely.

Praise God for these folks salvation. It blows my mind that the Amish don't allow Bible Study. I used to think the Amish were saved just different than some other Christians.
I think most Amish DO study the Bible. But they are in communities where every community is independent and have to obey their bishop no matter what. So some Amish communities may allow for Bible study and are truly Christian just narrow about it, and some may not. It sounds like this community wasn't, but God has a way.
@@sistermadrigalmorning233 I agree, it depends where you live. Will also depend what type of Old Order or New Order Amish group you belong. If you live in a larger group, many church districts, it would be problomatic to have some districts study the bible and some not. For the sake of not splitting the community , all would be typically the same in that manner. Some may not accept bottled gas or power lawn mowers. Bible study would be settlement wide though.

@@spongemonkeysooz yes, he just turned 17, they never figured out exactly why he was sick but it was about four days of deteriorating health before he showed any improvement.

These stories brought tears to my eyes... It is so sad when you need to read the Bible in secret. You know something is wrong when you have to do that. When tradition is more important than the truth of Scripture, it leads to all kinds of errors.
Are we sharing God’s truth from His word? Have we lost our zeal to go and reach the lost? Who told us about Jesus Christ and salvation? Thank you dearest Lord for these testimonies from the ex Amish people may they be blessed. and continue to be a blessing that others will receive your grace truth and love.

What a wonderful story! I grew up in Jackson County, Missouri and never knew about the Missouri Amish until we moved to Ohio. Pastor Stowe was such an inspiration to the Amish who attended his church.

So glad this pastor was willing to visit ex-Amish & set up a Bible study so they can learn the truth of Jesus. Earthly traditions will not save only accepting Jesus as your personal savior. This is the love of Jesus Christ being put into practice.
