  • In this video, I cover specific mineral nutrition requirements for grapevines, show images of mineral nutrient deficiency symptoms for grapevines, and discuss the importance of each element, including nitrogen which not only impacts vine growth but can impact wine quality by making it better or worse depending on the amount.

my table grapes (that are supposed to be disease resistant) always grow gangbusters (without much fert) and then either become deficient or come down with white mould, aborting early fruit.
this year i sprayed for disease and got good fruit set but then slow fill out and leaves went pale, but didnt look like potassium deficiency. applied all the micros with little improve, then magnesium, and finally potassium carbonate spray brought the leaves back to green.
diagnosis so difficult when some nutrient (like potassium) could be actually unlocking something else. Had some almost good grapes first time this year. bloomin birds dont help 😂

Good luck! Sounds like you are on the right track. Multiple problems do make analysis more complicated.

I was taught how to make dolmathes (stuffed vine leaves) in Greece. But the leaves on my English grapes are too 'fingered' to do this. Climate, variety or nutrition please??

Most likely it is the variety that is giving that leaf shape. Herbicides can cause odd looking leaves as well.
