Meet HONG 10:
A former member of the Korean crew Expressions, Kim Hong-Yeol, aka Hong 10, is a current member of 7 Commandoz and Drifterz Crew.
Recognized for being one of the most creative B-Boys in the world and having a great deal of stamina, his signature moves include the Hong 10 Freeze, where he lifts his legs up horizontally over his body, balancing only on his head and hand. Yeol means '10' in Korean, hence his nickname.
B-Boy Hong 10 is not your ordinary world champion. After winning his first Red Bull BC One World Final in 2006, he returned in 2013 to the notoriously challenging Red Bull BC One 10th Anniversary World Final. This competition gathered all the previous world champions along with the year's best up-and-comers in Seoul, Korea, Hong 10's home country. Amidst the pressure, he came out on top and cemented his place as a two-time Red Bull BC One World Champion.
Since then, he has been recognized globally for his creativity, stamina, signature moves and passion in nurturing the breaking culture for the next generation. His major solo and crew titles span all the top international events, including UK B-Boy Championships, Battle of the Year, New Taipei BBoy City and Freestyle Session Korea.
To Hong 10, breaking is a two-way street. You gotta give respect to earn respect!

IMO, dude is the GOAT for the breaking culture. Not just cause of his style, but his story is literally something out of a movie. I still remember the hype watching the 2013 BC One after a pretty rough period for him at other battles. And since then, he’s managed to still be active and throw new sets together. Absolute legend!
100%, Hong10 has the spirit of breaking like I have simply not seen before. His trials and tribulations leading to a win at what’s, 391? Is just incredible. Great video here to showcase his journey. Hong can rest easy knowing he established himself and pushed the bar, serious inspiration.

Also both Japanese and Korean bboys are always feared because of the legacy created by legends like hong10, taisuke and wing. But this year Japan's BC one has the worse judging. It had nothing to do with their performance but more like who's black and biracial lol any rooting for FE and I hope he will bring the title back to our motherland Asia 🤞

Imagine one with Amir. Or Phil Wiz. Or Alvin. Or (Insert favorite Bboy here). This is so well done. And I know a lot of people sees Hong 10 as the Michael Jordan of Breaking so it’s definitely a privilege to see his life story and journey since the beginning.
@TheBootyGoonz Oh yeah. And actually that's the 5th element of hiphop - knowledge. So these kinds of documentaries would honestly improve the development of the culture, cuz a lot of people don't know a lot of things, including me. I would like to see a documentary of one of old school bboys, like Casper (even though there's already one on YT), Kid David, Luigi, Focus, Poe One or Dyzee. We've seen plenty from Crazy Legs already, but I'd like to see more of Alien Ness as well. These guys who were creating it without even knowing it. Wow, history of hiphop is such an i credible story :o

I dont even bboy any more (its been over 15 years) however; I still follow the scene from time to time, mainly because of seeing bboys around my time still doing it like Hong 10. Because of bboys like him, I am able to discover new bboys and kept interest in the dance. To see his evolution, passion and more insight on how he is as a person thru technology; on top of seeing him still dancing and having the drive to COMPETE and WIN is amazing! No matter what he decides to do (stop dancing or keep going) people need to put him down as a Goat! No doubt 🐐

Recovering from injuries is no joke mad respect. The mental devastation of missing out is hard to overcome
So inspiring... I remember taht after Hong 10 lost in 2007, he lost his confidence and wasn't as clean as before. People were mean, saying he was finished.... Then, he came back stronger than before. All the best in Paris. I will be there to support you.
I remember seeing him in battles and he was so sloppy. Now I see why and I’m glad he bounced back from his mental breakdown.
I remember when Hong 10 was chosen to be a judge at the World Final in 2008, everybody was like "well, he and Lilou are judges now, they will never come back to battle"

HONG 10 has been my favourite break dancer...ever since I watched Redbull BC one! Deep respect for his determination and dedication. The final in 2016 I thought he'd won...I would have thought he'd stopped by now! Very inspirational. Hope to see him in his best condition in Paris! Fighting!!!

Hong10 is undisputedly respected. He has respect for others, and everyone respects his dedication, intense hard work, and vision. That being said, I think the new generation will give Hong a difficult time. New disruptors like Phil Wizard and others are really ripping it up and if anything, they seem to be inheriting Hong10's young energy and stamina. I'm excited to see Hong10 come back for a strong hurrah, and also really proud of the new gen for carrying the torch.

Mad respect for this dude. He's 38 years old now and still rocking as hard as the young bucks and consistently bringing world's top class bboying skills to the table. I used to bboy back in the day and I'm trying to rehabilitate my arm & shoulder from a bulging disc as well so I know how hard it is, even when I'm trying to do normal exercise, so I can't even imagine the difficulty for him with his bboying. Cheering for Him to get that 3rd belt! Let's go!

This guy is amazing, I have been following him since I was a child and I started to dance because of him, I think that he won the bcone 2016 too, so for me no matter what happen this year, you are a three times champ
I am someone who was forced to quit breaking because of A disc injury at the age of 29 , my disc injury was supposed to heal in 1 and a half years, but because i went back to breaking, i fractured my disc again and made it worse and almost caused myself permanent paralysis, couldnt even stand up for 3 months, it took 10 years for me to just be able to walk without pain. hong 10 should be very careful, disc injuries can cause paralysis, he is already a legend, and imho much better than anyone who won bc one 2 or 3 times, there is nothing to prove anymore, health should come first, at the age of 40 and plus, our bodies can't keep up with the insane stress that breaking causes to the disc especially the neck area and lower back area, in hong 10 's case this amplifed because his move arsenal is so focused on the neck and disc areas, in anycase, i hope he is safe, iv followed him for the last 22 years, always a pleasue to watch.

All korean males have to serve a compulsory military service. Very few people are exempt and those that try to get out of it legitimately are looked at in strong disdain.
