To make an M1 Garand receiver requires an insane amount of milling. So many angles, radius's and other dimensions that need to be right. I'd wager a Garand made ala WW2 methods would run $3k easy, considering labor, taxes, materials, OSHA, and the real evil .... EPA.
Well it weighs as much as seven moving boxes and shoots a fifty caliber bullet so give the kid a break. AR 14s give cnn reporters PTSD just shooting them and them guys ain’t no soy filled cream puffs at all.

To make an M1 Garand receiver requires an insane amount of milling. So many angles, radius's and other dimensions that need to be right. I'd wager a Garand made ala WW2 methods would run $3k easy, considering labor, taxes, materials, OSHA, and the real evil .... EPA.
That first abbreviation is merely a suggestion, and the last one inconsequential. Especially the last one
I will be enthusiastically awaiting their bringing back some of those old designs. The Garand would be amazing. Thanks for the info. Great interview.
Man, PSA makes South Carolina proud! Thank y'all!
The resolve you expressed when he said "that stock is kind of stiff"
is commendable
Lol. Thank you.
That's what you get when you tell Arty that something is tough or difficult. We go "Oh really now?"
Sometimes it can lead to trouble.
My boy can’t figure out the shoulder thing that goes up.
Every stock lock must be super tight this year his big boy pants are getting a work out LOL.
Well it weighs as much as seven moving boxes and shoots a fifty caliber bullet so give the kid a break. AR 14s give cnn reporters PTSD just shooting them and them guys ain’t no soy filled cream puffs at all.
I was issued a H&R M16A-1 in Germany in the mid 80's I would love to have one of my own as a trip down memory lane.
M1 garand with modern machining & the ability to handle modern ammo will be awesome & different calibers
Modern ammo is no problem, just replace the gas plug with a Schuster adjustable plug. The Schuster plugs were $30-35 a couple years ago. Criterion made Garand barrels in various calibers years ago. They still have .270 Win barrels last I looked. I've got the .270 barrel its a joy to shoot with noticeably less recoil and very accurate.
I shoot modern ammo out of my first contract WRA with no problem and not using an adjustable gas plug, just make sure that you're using a new op rod spring and you'll be fine
Carried the M16A1 as a Sapper in the Fulda Gap. I'm a southpaw shooter and got a few hot brass in my collar.
brass deflector? Who needs that!? 😁
Definitely going to buy the m16a1
1:12, chrome lined pencil barrel? My hunt will finally be over. (Lots out of stock, some way too expensive)
Going to buy at least one of the M16A1 clone ASAP. Would love an E1 like Brownells made, but those are never in stock.
Thanks for doing the 1/12 twist! I’m glad PSA found the clone community and is catering to our autism.
Hell yeah
My 203/A1 (circa 82) was a H&R. Qualified expert with it Every Time. Loved that rifle
The first time I qualified in 1996 I used an M-16 A1. I ACTUALLY USED the trajectory map that showed the difference between A1 and A2 because I had never shot before.
M1 garand? Wow.
I'd like a replica M1 Garand but I'd prefer it in 308 not 30 06... I wanted one from CMP but I don't have a affiliated range near by so it's been a struggle finding one that isn't too expensive...
Join the grand collectors association, GCA. That affiliation will allow you to purchase m1's and other rifles and pistols directly from the CMP. Plus they have a great magazine and are dedicated to the history and preservation of the grand rifle.
@@allanking6848 thank you... I'll check them out...😃
Be interesting to see what they are able to do price wise with a new M1 Garand. Honestly I'd love to see them tackle a modernized top break defensive revolver, maybe something along the lines of the MP412 REX. Those are just dreams though, don't see that happening.
Excellent idea!
@@johnburnett5377 I'm honestly surprised no company has done it yet. I know people say they're weaker, but with modern materials/manufacturing, I don't think that'd be as big of a problem. Would be so awesome to have!
I hope they get the gas tuned right for the AR clone. If they do Im sure it will be a great product.
it's PSA i doubt they will get it right lol
I am so fucking excited about this! The M16 and the Garand will ABSOLUTELY be added to the collection! I have a 1944 Garand but I’d love to have a fun new production one to throw around!
I might as well just tell my employer to go ahead and start sending my paycheck straight to PSA every week. It’s going to end up there anyway. 🤣
Bring back the H&R 999 revolver. Top breaks are fun!
I am now holding off for this PSA m16 retro instead of colts in memory of my dad, a shooter and not a safe queen.
Totally getting that .22 when it comes out
Really like what I am hearing from H&R. And I now Hate Remington just a bit more as a brand destroying company. Would have liked to see some Handi rifles make a come back.
Damm I really like that little 22 in the beginning . That would be a fun little shooter . I have a a handful of ruger mags laying around too
I want that M16A1 clone. Brings back lots of memories. The stock on that clone however looks like an A2 version. Hard to tell but the buttplate doesn’t appear to have the rounded edges.
It looks like a Type D stock, its a pre 1970 A1 stock without the trapdoor and different sling swivel
Jah, the M16A1 had a chrome lined barrel, and a chrome bolt- carrier group.
@@blueduck9409 Not all had the full chrome carrier group. There were some that did but that was a limited number and I believe it was an early in the M16 adoption. Most I’ve seen and used only had the inside of the carrier chrome plated just like the current M4.
M1 Garands! Now we're talking.
Please keep it real though. No pic rails. No black synthetic stocks. No camo...of any variety.
I would like to see a modernized version. This is coming from someone who owns multiple M1 Garands.
James Vatter I want to see an M1 rifle that is more affordable for the average person.
The Retro stuff is exciting ❤️
That was the best video coming out of Shot Show I've seen so far this year. thx
Glad to see H&R didn't disappear. A new M1 Garand? Wow. I hope it costs under a grand.
I’m happy to see the A1 clone, I will be buying one of those. I will probably get the garand when that is available too. While I was doing some research into what other cool guns H&R had made, I found the T48 FAL. If you guys do a FAL I will buy that in a heartbeat.
I hope they make a FAL
Question though: Metric pattern or inch pattern?
Can they do it close enough to DSA quality?
Well they never came thru with there mp5 clone don’t hold your breath
So glad H^R is back may the new owners grow the brand and I would buy a quality gun from this guy in the video. Make an H&R 1911 as well. Maybe we need to start an apprenticeship programs with companies.
I really wish they'd hurry up and get these on the shelves! I've missed my chance at other m16a1 clones over the past few years because I didn't follow 2A news very closely and didn't find out about them until they were discontinued (brownells) or sold out (colt's "retro reissue").
Yeah I missed out on the Brownells retro model 605 and now they don't make them anymore in the 556 223 in the 10 or 11 inch barrel configuration but the price point was too much for me at the time but still somewhat affordable !!!
Gotta say....First time I have been excited about PSA in a Long Time! Im an Old Guy who qualified on the A1 and I will buy one if it isnt totally ridiculous in price. I dont have safe queens.....I shoot Everything I have, including my collectibles!
I'm really, really, really, really, really, excited for that H&R M16a1.
I really hope it gets off the ground enough for it to not be discontinued any time soon.
I would love to see a M1 made again, I had a H&R M1 that I had to sell years ago, always regretted that.
I had an A1 in basic in 1988 also. Shoot well. Used an A2 for BRM. Then got the A1 back lol. Many miles carrying that thing around Ft Benning School for Boys. Looking forward to see what they make
I love the idea of the M16A1 clone. I was issued the M16A1 from 1981 until 1989 when I got to Alaska and we got issued the A2. As I have to shoot long guns left-handed due to my eyes, so I hope they make brass deflectors available.
I still have an H&R Handy rifle. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
I’d like to see their old break top revolvers brought back, and preferably tweaked to allow modern full powered cartridges.
I agree can’t find a 999 for less than 700$
I'm assuming he meant a visual clone of the CAR-15 flash hider since the ATF, in all of their infinite wisdom, declared that particular version is actually a silencer.
To do H&R justice
1911s - very bare bones but quality specs
Handi Rifles and barrels
Revolvers
I would love a M1 Garand that can shoot modern 30.06.
Just get a universal gas plug.
God please bless the hands at PSA 🙏.... Maybe PSA will be the ones to bring us a FN FNC repro...a brother can hope...but I will def be in line for an a1...40 round pmag and 50 grain TSX....
This, so much this. I would be willing to commit unspeakable acts for an fnc
Making the M1 sure sounds cool but they should also ramp up and start making a ton of M2 Ball ammo as well so you can shoot it
I used an M-16A1 back in 1979 and it worked faultlessly..
I nearly shit a brick when he said they're bringing back the M1 Garand.
I can’t wait for these A1’s to hit the market
Would like to see them produce a break-top revolver in .38 Special that won't poop the bed because of crappy parts
With the 12 twist you can also shoot cast bullets near to fmj velocity (powder coat). Cheap ammo is good!
PSA is killin’ it.
👍 on the garand, bring back a trapdoor, everyone loves the 999 22 revolver!
Keep the videos coming your really getting all the good interviews and all the new products
Every stock latch must be super tight this year his big boy pants are getting a work out LOL.
I have a brake action 12 gadge that my grandfather got me for Christmas when I was 7 years old. I'm 50 now and I still shoot it. The old H&R's are tuff. I would like to have it re finished. I'm not worried about value. I'll never sell it.
Excellent interview! It will great to see the M16A1 H&R come back.
The little ruger 10/22 folder is badass, I want one
I'm in love with that stubby 1022 clone!!!! Take my money!💲💲💲
That 10/22 is awesome! 👀 I'd sell a kidney for that! 🤣🤣 Well, probably not.
One of my best CMP Garands is a H&R! I would like to see the H&R M14.
I will buy an A1, I have always wanted a rifle like I carried in the Army.
AWESOME! I’d love to see an integrally suppressed SBR 10/22 style.
Let’s abolish the nfa first.
Yeah to post nfa, i love the concept but the extra $400 is hard to swallow
PSA is the party. Everything they're doing is fun.
Makes me excited for H&R
My Mk.12 Mod.0 currently uses a PSA PA-15 lower I bought at one of the brick and mortar PSA stores in 2015. An A1 profile lower is one of the final pieces remaining to complete the whole thing.
The current unobtainium that I'm hunting and saving up for would be a Leupold 57055 (Mark 4 3-9x36mm MR/T, M3, Mil-dot, matte black).
Mike answered the 999 revolver question at the end, loved mine but it was crap broke parts.
Yooo! Hell of a new CEO they got! I fking love NDS.
You can say whatever you want about palmetto but they put some cool affordable stuff on the market. I respect it.
Dear Lawdy, I was THAT guy ..asleep holding the guys alice straps in front of me.
I may as well have work make my paychecks payable to PSA if all they want to produce actually comes to fruition! Fantastic company! Excited to see what all comes out in the next couple years!!
