Did swim competitions so my only experience with “diving” is the two foot dive from the diving board into the water at the start of each race (except back stroke). Its wet most of the time, but usually keeps good grip for your feet. One time however, i must have kept my foot a little too far back and when i went for the dive, my back foot slipped. Since i didn’t push off correctly, i did end up slamming my foot on the rigid diving board. Hurt a whole lot but not enough to keep me from swimming. When i climbed out the water, you could see a cut/scrape on my foot. “Scariest” swimming event was a common occurrence but in a bad place. Had a cramp on my leg while swimming in the deep side during practice. Pain kept me from moving my legs, but we had trained before to just use our arms before, so it wasn’t too big of an issue. Just swam to closest wall and pulled my self out.
