Can you show a recipe for kimchi pizza
Would this recipe work well with ground chicken.
So no pear in the ground beef bulgogi?
Is this healthy? Can you post the macros for us fitness guys?
Seonkyoung Longest- Where do you get that mini gas stove? Thatâs cool!!!
10 cloves of garlic - YES!!! Finally, none of this 1-2 cloves garlic stuff. Instant subscriber!!!
I agree. Garlic is the best lol
SAME here lol
I made it for my family and could only use 7 or so cloves for 3 lbs of meat... I was disappointed. Iâm a garlic lover. So for my plate I just cooked extra garlic(like a lot) and put it on top. Still great!!!
Right?!!!
I didn't know how much garlic Koreans used till I started watching their recipe videos.
Thatâs right! You measure that garlic with YOUR HEART! Not all heroâs wear capes!
No comments.. wow
I knew someone who didn't like garlic đł I never went out eating with her.
Considering all actual heros are people.. yeah none of them wear capes lmao
đ love this comment. I feel the same way about garlic
đđđđ€đ»
As a rise eating Asian myself, this is one of those dishes that will complete my day đThen if you add a sunny side up fried egg on top, I guarantee that the first scoop of a spoonful of it that you deliver into your mouth is enough to make you melt and crave for more!!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Yes and some sriracha or chili oil... heaven!
I used 1 TBSP of Honey instead of the plum extract was amazing delicious and easy thanks for this awesome easy to follow recipe. Love that you don't skimp of the garlic perfect amount. Lots of love â€ïž.
Thank you for the tip
This will be dinner tonight đ
I substituted it with homemade sour cherry jam. đ
Thanks for the suggestion. This was pretty much my only substitution and it came out delicious! So good đ
Edit: I also used rice vinegar instead of mirin but added sugar to it as suggested on websites.
thank you!!!
Is it worth paying the extra cash to get plum extract for taste?
Seonkyoung, that red looks awesome on you.
Nikita Parmar I agree! Looks so gorgeous!!!
10/10.
Get outta here you pervert!
Right? She always dresses so nice. I love her videos
This is crazy good & immediately went into our families regular food rotation - thanks much for the video!! đ
Just made it again tonight so I had to come back for a refresher on the recipe - such a great simple dish
@@NickFerry Hey Iâm thinking about making the for dinner. What do u rate it 1-10 and did you add or sub anything
@@Tstreet91 First off I have to say that this dish is really easy to make and it is really quite delicious - iâve made it probably a dozen times so far in the last six months or so
Given Iâve made it a few times now Iâve played around with the quantity of the garlic and plum extract (we use apricot jelly) and our family has found it great just as it is in the video - if you donât want as much garlic Iâm sure you could lighten that up but given the sort of braising that takes place in the cooking, the garlic really mellows out
@@NickFerry Okay thank you so much Iâm a chef and just wanted to switch up things for dinner tonight . Iâm thinking about sautĂ©ing broccoli or green beans just so I can have a veg
@@Tstreet91 pairs perfect with broccoli & we do grilled asparagus too
Well this is going on my quarantine recipe list.
I was just going to say the same thing. This would be a great food item to prepare while stranded inside the house. Looks amazing!
I JUST cooked this and it was DELICIOUS! A bit sweet for my liking. Not sure if itâs because I substituted apricot preserve instead of apricot jam. My local grocery store didnât have plum extract either. Iâll use less sugar the next time I make it.
Sameđ
empirex - Hey, did you make this yet? Iâm making it this week, would love to hear any tweaks youâd recommend
I'm gonna make this forever, I can't get enough of this dish, really yummy đđ
im so glad that i found this channel , my wife and i have created a few of these meals already. i LOVE Asian food !!!
Husband showed up just in time to help with the cooking.
I.m going to do this with lettuce cups.
G. Dub Yes that sounds very good.
brilliant idea!
How did it turn out?
With some Sriracha mayo, yuuum
Literally what I looked this up for
Made it last night without the plum extract and it still turned out very delicious! Thank you for the easy recipe!
Wonder if grape jelly would work??
Adeline Nicholas apricot is the suggestion, it works good! Bought it instead
Adeline.. maybe a Plum Jelly or Jam!!đđđ€
I used honey instead of plum extract and it was delicious!
@@angelicajuarez7891 Honey is the way to go
My mom requested this for dinner tonight! I made it once b4 to experiment with easy to make Asian dishes. Lemme note that she is 59 and the only Asian food shes had sadly, is a Chinese buffet. She said she LOVES it and could eat it once a week!! Thank you for helping me introduce new flavors to my child/mom lol
My mom has the same rice cooker!! đ always interrupting conversation
Angela Alcala hahahha that cooker always say when they finish their work!! Itâs annoying đ€Łđ€Ł
đ đ đ
OsakaRose usually korean model named Cuckoo has the ending sound haha
I have a zojirushi i bought in Japan and it interrupts me too! đ©
I had to go back & add grated ginger to this; I really felt it needed it. Served with rice, topped with a fried egg, a heap of kimchi on the side, & sauteed green beans, this did go down a treat. Great easy weekday (or weekend!) meal.
what can i use for the plum extract??
@@kdotwilly7935 honey
Like did you add the ginger while coming ? Or on top as garnish?
Tried this for dinner last night and my husband and kids absolutely loved itđâ€ïž Thank you for this great delicious and easy recipeđ
I just made this tonight and not only did it come out looking exactly like yours, but it also was absolutely delicious! Can not wait to try more of your recipes!
I was stationed in Korea for a year and a half and absolutely loved it. The thing I miss the most is the food
I love your videos and recipes. Recipes are easy to follow, but your sense of humor is so fun to watch đ.
I made this recipe and it was delicious! I didn't have the plum extract but was still very good. As you stated Seonkyoung it's important to let the liquid evaporate so the beef caramelizes. I also made this as a lettuce wrap by washing and drying red leaf lettuce, adding the beef, some rice and hot sauce. Thanks for this yummy and easy to make recipe!!!
Watched this video, went straight to the grocery, finished eating a delicious dinner 2 hours later. This recipe was delicious and so easy to make! I added eggplant, that I sauteed first, removed from the pan, and added back in at the end. My picky son loved it and I will definitely be making this again!
I did the same thing today! Turned out amazing and itâs the start of my bimbimbap journey đđŒ
I made this using ground pork and ground chicken. My husband loved it!
Got tired of the usual mince meals we make so I tried this recipe last night. Was a hit with the family! Thanks so much.
SO EASY and SO DELICIOUS!!! Made it twice. I love bulgogi, but using the ground beef is more convenient, since we always have it, but my toddler can eat it too... and she LOVES it! Used apricot jam the 1st time and plum jam my grandma made the 2nd time and both were just fine.
We have been making this at least once a month for a couple years. Iâm watching now while I cook it for dinner. We love your recipes! âš
thank you so much for this easy recipe!! I made it, adding a few tweaks here and there, and it was so delicious!! this is such a good recipe for students/busy people! Thank you đ
I needed a meal prep recipe for the week, and you just provided it!! Love your videos!
I just made this today and it was delicious. I cheated a little and used pre-mixed bottled bulgogi sauce because I had it in my fridge. I did add a little plum sauce and spiced it up a little with sliced jalapeno peppers and gochujang paste. I also added sliced carrots for a little bit of crunch. Thank you Seonkyoung for another great recipe!
I just discovered your channel about a week ago. Not only are you a delight to watch but the 2 dishes I have cooked so far have been incredible. I just made this for dinner tonight and it was one of the best things I have ever cooked!
Your videos and recipes just keep getting better and better. This looks great. Nicely caramelized. Thanks!
I made this! So easy and delicious. Adding this to my rotation of dinner meals
Same! I couldnât believe how easy it was. Especially because I cheated and used store bought sauce.
I love your recipes! Iâve made so many and they have all been favorites in my family.
I made this recipe tonight and I swear my 7 year old daughter asked for third serving and finished her meal in record time!!!!!!! She. Loved. This! Thank you so much.
I just made this today! I used ground turkey instead and I didn't have plum extract so I used hoisin sauce instead. It came out great!! We ate it with lettuce and rice.
Iâm in love with all your kitchen utensils! So elegant. Love all the rose gold colors.
Made this twice in a week and my husband loved it! Thanks !
I just made this recipe last night, thank you soooo much! You made this so easy for us to follow, my family absolutely devoured this, thank you again!
I sent an IG message to Jacob about this, but want you to see it, too: Last night my Partner decides he wanted Bulgogi. Bulgogi on Labour Day evening. I remembered this video and tried it - my man was iffy about it, but when he saw how much Jacob enjoyed it he gave it a shot "Jake obviously loves it. THAT is a Bulgogi happy face. If Jake likes it that much, I want some!" An hour later, NO leftovers, and he practically licked the bowl clean LOL Thank you both so much for making these videos! I love Korean food anyhow, but my partner was stationed in South Korea with the Army for MANY years and was married to a Korean lady, so we eat a LOT of Korean dishes - and your videos have REALLY helped me learn. Thank you and Jacob for making our lives better! (have to get some of your shirts now!!!)
So MANY recipes to try during Quarantine! This is going on that list!!!
Several months ago, I was craving Bulgogi but didn't have the money for sliced beef. I made up my own recipe that I called "Budget Bulgogi" using ground beef. It is very similar to your recipe, almost identical, actually. I have served it every other week, sometimes with rice and other times with rice noodles. The family loves it and it works for my gluten free son.
All this time, I felt like I was cheating or it was second rate but you have vindicated me!
Also, this is only the 2nd video of yours that I have watched. I intend to watch them all. Thanks for the encouragement to keep cooking!
Great recipe! I added bean sprouts for freshness and peanuts for added texture. Also included fish sauce and hot chile flakes to marinade.
I still love cooking this from time to time.
Just tried this tonight! Itâs so quick to make and it was a big hit! Thank you! đ„°đ„°đ„°
I have made this like 10 times since you posted it! Itâs my favorite! And so easy
Thanks, Seonkyoung! I made this last week and the family loved it! Itâs the first recipe Iâve tried from from your channel and I canât wait to try another! Whenâs your cookbook coming out?
Made this during quarantine for my family and even my picky eater was in love. Thanks for the recipe!!
This was really, really delicious! My family loved this dish! Thank you for sharing.
I just made Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles following your recepies yesterday!! They were so good!!!đđ
Me too. I made the Drunken Noodles this weekend. Sooooo Goood! đ
OMG. I made this tonight for my wife and youngest son (17 years old). We polished off 1 1/2 lbs no leftovers! I can't stress enough how amazing this was. I didn't have mirin so I used rice wine vinegar with 1tsp of sugar per 1 tbsp of vinegar. I didn't have plum extract so I used peach jam with a splash of plum wine. Put it on steamed rice with some stir fried bok choy on the side. Lots of sriachhia and it was Unbelievable!! I can't stop thinking about it. Can't wait to make it again!!
I followed your recipe and made this today, Seonkyoung, and it was delicious! Everyone LOVED it. Thank you so much!
Her husband looks very happy. đ€ Her cooking won his heart for suređ
Yes haha i noticed that. So sweet!!
You've got a new subscriber! This was so yummy!
I made it this evening and it was a hit. I made a few alterations.
I didnt have rice wine so I substituted it with coconut vinegar and just added a tiny bit more sugar to balance it out. I only had raspberry syrup lol so I tried that.
Lined my bowl with spinach and arugula before adding the rice + beef..... then topped with sliced avocado and spicy mayo I made!!!
Cant wait to make more. Thank you

OMG this would have matched up perfectly with my jasmine rice and stir fried watercress instead of meatloaf for lunch this week.
Sriracha makes everything and anything taste better - more please!!!!! YUMMMMY

Hi i made this tonight, and my picky husband loves it. Thank you so much. I used Rice vinegar and dry minced onion because thats only i got. I did'nt use plum extract but still came out so good.
thank you for sharing this suggestion!!
girllll u need to add that plum extract next time! it gives it this nice sweet flavor!
Always cook with what you've got!
Cooked this with my mum and had a great time! The results are really delicious tooâĄ
Made this the other night. Substituted Teriyaki for plum. Cut garlic in half; my preference. Very, very good. Used recipe again last night to marinate my beef for stir fry. Amazing! Itâs a keeper.
I made it my wife loved it more the original from the restaurant! It really was perfect! Thanks
I was stationed for a year in Korea while I was in the Air Force and this was my favorite dishâŠAnd Yaki Mandu.
This is a classic that is enjoyed by everyone who has tried it so far. Thank you!
Just tried this and it was so good! I wanted more color so I put a bit of red bell pepper and it added great flavor too. Thank you!
A fried egg will complete the dish!
fried with crispy brown edges... oh yeah!

I'm half Korean and I love Bulgogi. Sometimes we had it cooked on a charcoal grill and that was my favorite.
My mom is Korean. She moved back to South Korea after my dad passed away and lives on my Korean grandparents pear farm..
Those Korean pears my grandparents grew were the best pears in the world. They were huge and so juicy.. I never seen another pear come close to grandparent's pears

This was absolutely amazing. I used the apricot jam because I couldn't find the plum extract. So delicious and not overwhelming like some bulgogi I've had. Thank you!
Apricot jam, what a great idea. :)
wow, I just made this and I'm in love. The only thing I did differently is I added 1/3 of a red bell pepper to the mixture. I can see myself making this once a week as a staple. So delicious!
You have such a lovely energy about you! Thank you for the recipe ideas and for the sunshine you bring to the screen :)
You had me at the 10 cloves of garlic †Garlic lover here
Growing up this was called the struggle food. Just rice beef and the green onions and garlic. If there wasn't much this would definitely feed the house hold. Now that I'm grown my kids love this just to have it.
