Great video! For the folks saying they prefer the illustrated and narrated Sensible Transfer videos, I'd expect them to bring those back for the Summer transfer window when there's more time in the schedule. This format is much quicker to produce, which makes a lot of sense given how busy Tifo have been with all the World Cup videos and livestreams.
Sensible production choices
They didnt...
I like the old sensible transfer style better. The drawings, music and Joe's voice acting made it feel soothing
Maybe they are now exercising a sensible budget
I thought it was Joe's
100% agree. Budget maybe?

Biggest club in the world lad
@@krish4246 Not really, lad. Itâs 2023.
@@M4NA5 it's literally in the top 3 biggest clubs in the world
@@krish4246 They've not been that for at least 10 years. Real Madrid and Barcelona both have better teams by far, better average attendance, more followers on social media, more revenue, etc.
Top 5 is reasonable, although it's based on the goodwill built up by Ferguson, not the recent past or the future potential.
@@andrasszabo1570 man its biggest financially
Juve are in turmoil, United should throw Dusan Vlahovic an olive branch
Financial or administrative?
@@anandmahamuni5442 both
Hey Dusan, get yourself out of that nasty frying pan and into this lovely fire!
United has been in turmoil the past decade đ

Another year, another series of Ibrahim Sangare fixing every midfield problem ever thought of.
This guy was supposed to be bought long time ago to learn from Casemiro who is going past his peak.
He would be great to go for in the summer.
@@espben360 him, Caicedo or Palhinha
On the topic of RB, the recent showings from AWB would hopefully allow that to sit on the back burner until the summer at least. Caqueret is a player Iâve loved for a while and would have him 100%. As for the forward role, I feel like if weâre keeping the whole sensible aspect of it all you have to consider Felix and Depay if only because theyâre both virtually on the loan market for January
Hakimi would be the one
He didnât have Phil Jones in his list of defenders, he can play as a functional right back in the John oâShea mold
@@TSF15152 I like him, but I also donât necessarily think we need someone like him with the age bracket Dalot is in and how heâs ever-improving
@@GuinessOriginal heâs not registered though
AWB hasn't even been good lol what are you talking about
For my money, I think Lille's Jonathan David would be the best move for Manchester United if they want a solid striker for the future. He's been a solid mainstay in Ligue 1 since he got there and was a massive reason they won the league a while back. He didn't have the best World Cup, but he's still a solid finisher who makes great runs from behind. I think it's the ultimate "low risk, high reward" move to make.
I agree hes class, but I think Ten Hag wants a big body number 9 who can be more of a presence in the box. Think David would just bring a more productive and dynamic version of martial, when they need a different type of player to round out the system entirely. Just watching united, even while theyve been winning the past couple weeks, they just dont have that aerial presence which could add another dimension of finishing to their attack.
@@grantwood2955 exactly and i think thats where we lack, our forwards none of them including rashford has the best heading capabilities
Love love love that the sensible transfers have migrated to the IRL channel. It gives more time and space for analysts to show why the move would work, rather than hearing stats rattled off. Great work, all!
Who else feels Sensible Transfers should always stay as illustrated videos
Illustrated videos are enormously time-consuming and costly to make.
I wouldn't be against them putting it on the back-burner and only making them for a long-form story if that meant they made more videos of the same quality.
@@andrasszabo1570 yeah this was obviously made over the holidays period, where most likely the illustrators and animators would also rather enjoy some time off than be tied to such time consuming project. They will likely do more of the old style videos too when everyone is back to work.
I think this format allows them to produce one video per day, which means they can cover more clubs than if they did the animation style videos. This was definitely a calculated choice
@@andrasszabo1570 Completely agree. As long as they don't cut back on the graphics John did use
Both add different aspect. We can have both you know.
I actually think unitedâs squad is in a good place. Spend all the available money on a mobile target man I think theyâll have a great season
We definitely need a right back and a cm isnât a bad shout but probably a summer target. I want caicedo!
Definitely in a solid position, RB, CM, ST, GK is needed, hopefully we can get 2 in January, ST, CM would be nice
@@nashequalizer8836 bonkers to me that Chelsea arenât going for Caicedo given Enzo Fernandezâ price tag. Bellingham/FDJ would be the fantasy world signings but Iâd love Caicedo also
@@samn90834 I donât wanna hear the name De Jong for a long time. If we sign him I want it to done so fast we didnât see it coming. Last summer tired me out.
For the rival fans complaining that Tifo have done another Man Utd video, the fact that youâre here engaging is exactly why there is so much Man Utd content. We generate clicks and push the numbers! Hated, adored, never ignored.
Exactly. It's like how television ratings of news channels are high when they're covering something bad/depressing.
Bet your not from Manchester

@Stu0602 (Tony Tynebridge) Its almost like soccer is an international sport. And clubs spend a lot of money on marketing overseas. So long as people love the club it shouldn't matter if they were born in Timbuktu.
Also yes I call it soccer cause my country has a game called football that was here first.
Caqueret would be superb. His defensive work rate is exceptional (particularly last season), and so would give us a brilliant option in the place of Eriksen both as a starter in games where we would be concerned about being out-worked, and as a substitute later on to shore up a win without losing too much attacking threat.
Thuram is a non brainer, great player
The guy with the serious year long injury is a no brainer?
@@robovac3557 yes, only no brain people would bring him on

Jota is a good example of a player who was in a Goals vs xG slump, which resulted in him being available at a good price
Would have been good to go over backup keeper. Wasn't touched on in the vid, probably because it happened just the other day, but Dubravka is getting recalled to Newcastle and United would now be in the market for a backup keeper.
This wouldn't be a January transfer, but United need a new long-term first choice goalkeeper as well as a backup
Dubravka got recalled back to Newcastle, so might want to consider Ivarov for back-up :) (if anyone understands the reference)
Great solution đ as a united fan, I'd love to see Thuram start as a striker until someone comes in in the summer, and Thuram can play out wide
united don't need anymore wide players
Castolo #9 is that a Master League reference? If so big props!
Noticed that too đ his colleague Espimas might provide either good cover/competition for Dalot
Very good suggested transfers. I would also look at enzo le fee for the position of back up for eriksen. Cheap and his numbers are good. Caqueret just signed a long term deal which may be a bump in his acquisition.
Marcus Edward's would have been a cheaper alternative to Antony and he is performing very well. Hope Antony ups his game coz he has the skill and talent
Enzo lee would be ideal to united. He is quite like verrati. Fred contract came to end so utd can sign him. But the problem is UNITED SCOUTS, idk what these guys are doing. They don't suggest any good player all utd sign is close to 100M player. Antony's backup is not req., we have Sancho at that position. Also Amad is also doing really good.
@@3Times3PeetTREBLE amad actually may end up starting instead of Antony if Antony doesn't get his game together. I just think man utd missed up on the Edward's opportunity.
Enzo le fee is a bargain who would come on the cheap and his skill set best suits ETH and an ideal replacement for erikesn who would make good competition with iqbal in the future.
Man utd also need a goalie since dubravka is back at Newcastle.
@@claywandera2486 Antony is 22,. He is still developing under Eth though 100M is not his price but we should have patience with him.
Gk is not required, we should work with heaton and academy gk. And go for better Gk and end tie with de gea. He is clearly not eth's type of gk. His buildup from the back is horrible.
Send atleast one of savage or iqbal and pellistri to loan, it's better for their development.
@@3Times3PeetTREBLE Antony of course should be given time and has a lot to grow in his game. What I am saying is, diallo will take his place next season because he is delivering very well at Sunderland and will, if not take Antony's place, provide good competition
@@3Times3PeetTREBLE de gea should be kept and man utd need at least two good keepers capable of starting. If de gea could reduce his wages, he should be kept. Otherwise ETH would have already been on the hunt for a new Goalie like he want a new CB and RW. De gea is very good. And he is showing willingness to work on his weaker aspects
8:29 dubravka's loan actually got cut short, he's back @ newcastle now
Hey, just noticing "Castolo" on the back
Such a great memories playing early Master League mode.
This might be the first time TiFo haven't mentioned Sangare to United after the Casemiro signing đ
What a nice idea for a series wish the same kind of content was made for my rugby club. Great stuff!
Excellent video. These are my sensible transfers too! Iâm ready to work for TIFO!
Great video John!
Love the "burst onto the scene" Micah Richards reference
Thuram, Thuram, Thuram...
And also, Sensible Transfers videos should stay as illustrated ones, though I don't mind the switch
Excellent video, with great rationale to your points and selections đ
What is Luke Shaw doing on TifoIRL?
He looks nothing like shaw
Great video love the NordsjĂŠlland shirt đ©đ°
Love this content!!!!
Remember when it was rumored United could've had a swap of Ronaldo for Osimhen in the summer?
They'd be legit title contenders if that'd happened
Will you be doing one of these for Brighton, by any chance?
Jon, I keep on saying it but youâre amazing. Keep it up!
A video like this for Chelsea would be great too considering we are light in rb, cm and st.
Do Everton!! Great vid dude awesome content.
Great analysis as always!
Is the Castolo shirt in the background a real player or a nod to the old pro-evo master league??
@tifo what do you think of Depay? He can probably get loaned for free and imo has the requirements to play the football Ten Hag wants
Fantastic analysis đđŒ
Wonderful presentation
Wanted Juranovic, but after Wan bissakas recent perfomances i don't think we neccessarily need a new rightback. For the striker position there aren't really perfect options, I would've liked Toney or Vlahovic but they don't seem to be available for different reasons. Wouldn't take Felix or Abraham tbh.
Good analysis Jon.
Amazing analysis
Nice analysis.
Q - Why doesn't Ten Hag favour VdB when he worked so well for him at Ajax? I know he hasn't performed well since his transfer, but I for one hoped ETH joining might provide him with a boost.
Same
I've always asked this
it;s a case of dvb worked for ETH for a specific project, now with the project his building at united, he just doesn't fit in as well. i think it's a good sign that ETH isn't just blindly starting DVB because he use to play for him.
Caqueret is one brilliant mid fielder that's plays similarly to frenkie de jong and would be a good signing in the same position with Eriksen đŻ but I just don't know why Man UTD are not looking towards he's direction đ€·
Honestly, Thuram is a player I would love to see in a ManU shirt but it takes some 'X' factor to be a ManU striker (Cantona, Sherringham, Nistelrooy, Rooney, Ronaldo). The long-term solution is Dusan Vlahovic with all characteristics and a natural eye for goals. Frenkie de Jong is my pick to take over from Christian Eriksen. And let's get a good backup goalkeeper please!
Please do one for Newcastle too
Joao Felix and Alberto Moleiro would be my 2 signings.. I really think Iqbal should be given a chance in midfield. And Awb can be the back up till summer
Can you do a video about City and how ii think they need a winger who takes risk and can take players one on one as they seem to struggle against back 5
What jersey is that?
The problem from United on the past is they transfer target is only from the big clubs w/ big names, but now this year we hopefully that United will bring some "real" potential young talents coz it more cheaper & this young talents need is trust so they can fight for the team for a long time đ„
One problem with the title of this video - Manchester United donât do sensible transfers đ
I needed this, hope
Huge fan of Caqueret, he is a fantastic player. Still not sure why top clubs are not after him.
I like the idea of Tammy Abraham in at number 9 that's a good shout marcus thuram's a good shout too.
Can u make a video on how enzo fernandez can help chelsea and the impact u feel he can make in that team.
Not so sensible, but i think make sense for United is Harry Kane, 15 goals 10 assist year in year out, contract will be expired on 2024.
I don't think he will move this transfer window, but in the summer the chance will be quite big
Great Player but there's better, younger options out there
I don't think there are a lot of striker better than Kane, probably only Lewandowski and Haaland. But Kane is a lot more flexible than both of them.
Saw the data on Osimhen it's very good, but there are usually a transition struggle from new PL striker even though the underlying data is really good before the transfer as seen with Nunez, Morata, etc. Harry will fit right in.
Historically United has done it so many time, acquiring best available striker in PL with Cole, Rooney, RvP
They prefer to sell the club before they do anything sensible. They were like: "Sensible transfers? Eee,We don't do that here"...
Do one for A.C. Milan!!
Love this guys style
Sensible transfers, for sure. But unfortunately - thanks to the Glazers - we barely have any money left to spend. We probably still could afford Marcus Thuram, but he may want to stay at BMG till summer, so he can choose from different offers. It'll most likely be a loan deal IF we sign anybody at all. I hope United proves me wrong, but I don't think so.
This presentation on Manchester United transfers was really interesting. But now I have to sign where to get my package?
I think a backup goalkeeper is a big issue, with Newcastle just recalled Dubravka from his loan so an able deputy to De Gea would be a good snag.
As a Utd fan I'd rather a more capable no1 and bin off DDG.
Heaton and academy gk can fill that gap. I hope utd let go De gea and sign better gk. Our buildup from back is horrible.
A good what? Oh...
Buildup is terrible at times, De Gea a clear liability with the ball at feet. A while ago I saw some links to Sommer, would much prefer us to go for a younger profile.
Nice video can you do Arsenal
Any opinion on Johnathan David?
I've been saying Caqueret for ages. Maybe I should work for you guys. Alternatively we both use fbref and came to the same conclusion which is that Caqueret is one of the only affordable and available targets for us that is both a really good ball-carrier and ball-progressor *and* is quite accurate at passing the ball. Most midfielders are quite good at one or the other, very few are elite at both of these skills. This is why Ten Hag was originally so keen on Frenkie de Jong as he is elite at both of these skills.
Am I correct in saying a ball-carrier carries the ball into the final third and a ball progresser passes the ball into the final third?
@@JA-pn4ji It doesn't have to involve a pass/carry into the final third; I think it is defined by moving the ball by something like 15-20 yards beyond the previous 5 passes that had occurred in the action sequence (according to fbref).
But yeah you're almost correct.
You should make more videos on other clubs too
Thank you Jon I appreciate your energy!!!
The best series is back
Orkun Kokcu from Feyenoord would be a perfect option to cover for Eriksen. Very similar profile, but adds mobility
Is the Castolo shirt on the wall a reference to the KONAMI PES-series player?
Bring the old Sensible Transfers back!
Love you Jon
We should've got Sesko but besides that I agree with both suggestions
Please sensible transfers really aren't our thing. We'll just get some dude Erik once met on a train
And he'll be brilliant
Glad you mentioned Huntelaar.
Also Maguire should be sold in this window ASAP.
Can't sell somebody no one wants to buy....

Challenge for the title with this squad. Caquaret is great but I'd sell Eriksen before signing him.
This is if we get Dubai owners.
Unfortunately canât afford anyway rn. Well not unfortunate since itâs bcoz the Glazers r leaving so itâs good. I quite like Thuram and Caqueret tho. Very sensible lol.
Well it ainât Gakpođ
United need two strikers (lowest scorers among the division's top 7) at the very least, apart from a RB (second-choice), a GK
apart from a transfer negotiator. Drolysden lad McNeill needs to be managed well as he can be the next shining light emerging from Carrington.
Lastly, I think United need to improve their defensive cohesion as United's goal difference is poor too.
Joao felix or memphis depay for now on loan to play like dusan tadic did at Ajax. Or Thuram, moukoko or Lois openda for cheap now, or even Martin terrier is a decent option. And either Vlahovic, mitrovic or Goncalo Ramos in the summer window, along with either Neves, Tielemans or de Jong.
As a dane, I appreciate the bants with the FCN shirt. Shows you guys care about football outside the prem
Martial is a good forward that can drop deep and create chances but aerially he is not strong enough to convert headers or receive long balls from casemiro or eriksen we saw he missed 2 open heading opportunities against bournemouth and is not strong enough to hold off defenders but was good with his feet so he can be among the forwards who can be rotated in for games which require more delicacy but we need someone like ivan tony who can bully defenders has good aerial presence and is quick as well i dont know why TIFO missed him, if possible someone like vlahovic will be absolute perfect fit in the system, a forward lineup of rashford, vlahovic, martial antony, sancho and garnacho will provide a better depth as the season progresses and players would have to play 2 games every week. But I dont think the move is possible currently and feasible from pov of glazers who intend on selling the club next summer. Bringing in felix will be another bad deal coz we will overspend on a player that is not required although world class would not fit into the no 9 spot and ten haag system. Thuram is I think most sensible option as suggested here but if I were to buy a forward I would go for Toney out n out proven in epl is in form from past 3 seasons and fits the role perfectly.
Memphis Depay would also be a good temporary fix for the rest of the season
Great Video mate, clearly i'm not a big fan of Thuram not very decisive in big match (neither in the WC). A guy like Abraham or Aboubakar (for a loan) are better option
Even a fighter with big mental like Kolo Muani would be pref
Update: MU is loaning Wout Weghorst from Burnley instead.
I really do not like the mention of Tammy Abraham. Sure, he's a decent player but not an improvement on Martial so it would only be for competition/squad strengthening.
i think man united should go for yussuf Poulsen or breel embolo, really good and gettable players
Bro is that Castolo's Jersey from pes 6????
Alex Telles and Dubravka are listed on the bench and arenât even on the team anymore⊠please update this!!
I have 3 strikers that i want to buy 1 is jonathan david 2 is thuram and 3 is openda from lens
Key signing would be
Victor. O St
D. Rice CM

Not sure i agree with Jon's rationale here - we definitely do not need another attacker who is best off the left - we already have Rashford, Sancho & Garnacho in that role, plus Elanga if he does not go out on loan and even Martial is comfortable off the left. If we were to get an attacker who can play wide as well as up front then we need someone who comes off the right. As for midfield - i suspect ETH is waiting on De Jong and won't get a play-making CM before the summer as VDB and Sancho can both play as a 10 if required. Eriksen and Bruno are more often in a double 8 role with the ball and in that formation, Fred, Scotty and VDB could come in depending on the opposition.
I would go for Toney if Brentford accept installments, and otherwise get someone on loan with an option to buy - Atletico's Felix would be ideal if they don't want too much of a loan fee - after all, Atletico still have their own financial constraints to cope with so getting his wages off the books must be a priority.
Can you do the same with Liverpool? as they need new midfielders
Please do Barcelona. I really want to see how they can improve considering their economic situation.
This is really good content. The data backs the analysis and conclusion. Which baffles me why the utd "scouting department" isn't already doing this or using this data.
They are. They have a scouting department who have data far deeper than what it covered in this video.
@@5mattcolour the problem at United isn't so much the scouting department, it's the people who make the transfers. Could've got Antony for 50m in June, decided to wait and splash 86m on him months later đ
