  • My RG Cube has escaped Customs and is finally here! In this video, we'll do a quick unboxing, take a look at the device, and see how quickly you can actually get from "opening the package" to "playing games". Spoiler alert: It's really fast and you don't even need to download anything if you already have your games on a microSD card.
One of the big concerns about the Cube was that early units - which seem to mostly have gone to CZcamsrs - were plagued by pretty horrendous backlight bleed (light leakage) issues. My Cube was from that eBay deal on Anbernic's official eBay store a few weeks ago, so I also have a short segment of the video to look at backlight bleed (or lack thereof) on the Cube I received.
I've also got some game demonstrations here (all PS2 games). Since this is a first impressions video and you're literally seeing the first time I even powered the device on, this is not the usual gaming from further into a game that I like to do, but it will certainly give you an idea on what PS2 performance is like with the default Anbernic software. If you've seen some of the demonstration videos of the RG556, this will feel like familiar territory since the RG Cube runs on the same (T820) chip. One note - the Star Ocean gameplay segment will probably have some muted music because, well, CZcams.
Since this video turned out to be quite long, I've put time stamps so you can easily skip to the parts of the video that most interest you.
