I do pilates since years. I have a certificate. It requires much concentration and body control, self control and meditaeditation as well. And for sure pilates is NOT for everybody like yoga and meditation isn't for anybody.

Thank you sooo much for such an informative piece. I've tried Pilates today for the first time and i must say it's going to be my favourite class. I enjoyed it sooo much and at the same time i've realised how stiff i am and offf balanced. I trust tht Pilates will help me on my flexibility and being balance. nice video but at 3:06 wrong info. Pilates emigrated nearly 10 years before 1933, when the Nazi regime came to power for 12 years. In 1924 Hitler was still imprisoned in a Bavarian state prison. Even at that time there wouldn't have been repression on persons like Pilates because he was already famous for his training of german warprisoners in English war prisons after 1917.

Reformer and Cadillac have been switched and mislabeled. It is imperative that this information is fixed, and it is even more important to educate the public with the correct knowledge, always check your work.

yes in researching the video, we found that one of the ways Joseph was picked on as a child was by bullies making reference to his surname Pilates. Of course it was Pontius Pilate who condemned Jesus to death - Hence the bullies taunt.

From Yoga in the 88, 89 90 91 , I developed myself what we know as Pilates , and of course with a greater range. It is your body . It is your life . ! No I did not want to become rich . I wanted to know the plain life. When in the 80's I realized how this society ignore the body and mind . People just follow trends ! It is not outer Technique it is inner. But still of course people need someone to rely on for everything ! So of course it is so easy to deceive people ! Nobody eats a pangolin and spread a virus all over the world ! No matter how much you travel!! Predictive fear ! Inmature modern society! !!
