    Doesn’t matter - like you said - it’s theatre - and Barcelona pulled it off better than anyone to date.

    It worked perfectly. The arrow was supposed to fly over the cauldron and it did. All the Spanish media explained it the next day of the opening.

  • @Cesare996
    @Cesare996 Před 18 dny

    Clearly, the footage of the arrow outside the stadium is not the same night as the opening ceremony. You can clearly see that the cauldron was surrounded by darkness in the ceremony opening. The footage outside the stadium clearly shows much brighter surroundings. Not the same night, and how the flame ignited is another clue, but I let you guys figure that one out.

  • @chrisliddiard725
    @chrisliddiard725 Před 24 dny

    'Close enough to ignite the gases'? I doubt it even did that. It's more likely the Olympic flames was simply turned on at the appropriate time.

  • @huge4754
    @huge4754 Před 24 dny

    Considering the strong wind that night, it's almost impossible to generate a flammable gas mixture at that height away from the cauldron. Secondly, if the cauldron flame was ignited by the arrow, the flame should travel from where the arrow was to the cauldron. But the fact is not. What I'm thinking is the cauldro was ignited by some device in the cauldron itself, had nothing to do with the arrow.

    I'm not sure if that flew by close enough to fire up the gases. To me it seems that the gas lights up from the bottom to the top instead of from where the arrow passed by

      Yes, I can't agree with u more. And, the flame was not travel from where the arrow passed to the cauldron, oppositely, the flame was rose from bottom to top.

      @alessandrobertulli425 Před 6 dny

      I think this is what happens when you ignite inflammable gasses (like methane, CH4). The fire is an optic effect generated by heat, you saw it coming from the bottom possibly because that's where the combustion built up heat sooner. You might want to ask a physicist or an engineer tho

      You should watch the '92 opening ceremonies - like 2012 it's about the pandemic. Very creepy.

  • @eduardomontillamoriles6330

    was not a trick or deception, it was done that way on purpose. The technicians did not want it to fall directly into the cauldron although the athlete was willing to throw it inside as he has commented on more than one occasion. Just passing it through the gas jet was enormously difficult and meritorious.
