  • Here is a TimberPro TL775D fellerbuncher outfitted with a Quadco 27b hot saw. This video was shot during a demo. This particular job was to cut leftover viable timber leftover from the Beachie Creek fire that spread through Oregon in late 2020.
A big thank you to Modern Machinery's territory manager Kirk Luoto for providing the excellent footage.

Yes, operator is new to this machine. It’s a demo. 38 dbh and 175 foot trees. Log max 10,000 processed all this timber. Seeing how machine handled this big wood. Operator does hand saw when it’s needed, but usually is tethering.

Wow, I'm impressed by the efficiency. Looks perfect for removing standing dead timber with a minimal crew.

When I said nice Buncher I meant it, I know this was a few months ago when it happened, but I was the first to comment if you remember me doing that, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, I was only complimenting your company for how awesome your Bunchers are.🙂

Only thing missing is a big clam bunk forwarder skidding out. I cut in front of Timberpro forwarder years ago. 2 of us cutting opposite sides of a ridge, 2 cable skidders pulling up to main road on ridge line. Tree's were averaging 26" and he'd pull about 16 in a turn. Very impressive.

I've triple cut with tigercat, I'd like to try this, omg gonna wreck shit trying to move them around on the ground, when huge wood, it's cut n push, sure alot of waisted time moving trees on the ground, thats gotta break a tool cylinder or a grab arm soon !

1st off thats one fine machine the way it travels and cuts so easy. 2nd i have a question does a burn site have to clear cut? Maybe its a stupid question but just curious.

My understanding is yes, because the timber is still good, but will soon go bad if it is not harvested. After they cut this timber the land was replanted.

Standing dead timber is a safety hazard. You never know when it's going to come down, and you just better hope nobody's there to get smashed when it does.

Operator seems to waste fuel and time. But maybe there are valid reasons he messes with felled trees like that.
He must be very new to this machine, he tries to tilt the head back in the cut. All that does is stop the saw.

It can cut them, obviously, and it isn't hurting it at all. But he is wasting time and fuel and adding wear and tear. And he needs some seat time to get good with it.

    • @patreekiller
      @patreekiller Před 3 lety +4

I think its just a demo. Probably playing with the stuff to see what it can do. He is off on his cuts but he probably doesn't want a tree like that coming back on the machine. Since it's not there machine. Plus a tree that size falling on the cutter would probably total it.

I have sat in my own buncher for nearly 4 years straight now. I know what I am talking about.
He is new to that machine, that is clear. He was moving felled timber for reasons that escape me, but I am east coast.
He is binding the disc in the cut on several cuts.
Not dogging him. It takes a lot of seat time

@@oldtimerf7602 Yea I have been in the woods myself 27 years and inherited a 49 year old company. I have done it most anyway and have owned most any machine. There are better machines for different things and it all takes seat time I agree. And nothing takes more learning than doing it by hand. I was just saying that the people who think one machine or one way of doing things is always the best are usually the ones who have not done much themselves.
