I don't think he would have got over in mainroster realistically in this stacked roster. Dijak is better off in MLW or TNA where he can get spot and not get a 50/50 booking.

    This situation is honestly why AEW and other alternatives are great for wresting in general. If someone just can't get over in WWE, they can have their stardom in AEW and vice-versa. Plus, it can help WWE who can let wrestlers go then rehire them when they have use for them

    • @jeffmendez02

      If Tony Khan wasn't booking the show, he would have been a perfect fit for AEW. But unlike 2019, AEW themselves have bloated roster and no defined brand their own talents are struggling to get TV time.
      AEW for now is good for a good pay day and very light schedule. But overall in terms of wrestling career i don't think so. Given the fact Dijak is just 37, its depends whether he will like a good pay day or Tv time.

    its very unfortunate that some of these wrestlers are leaving WWE but imo sometimes people overate these wrestlers yes some of them are talented but there’s just so many talented people on the roster not everyone is going to be able to get tv time. • @VanezBane
      @VanezBane Před měsícem +1

      thats true of course but in a case like Dijak you have a guy who performed stellar matches in NXT, gets called up to the main roster only to end up in Retribution that does nil. then he comes back to NXT, with a new character, gets it over, has more great matches only to get called up without anything to do. must be quite frustrating. you can't reach the upper echelons if they don't give you the chance to go there. so what is left? leave and try somewhere else. i personally hope he goes to japan, maybe does something there, AEW roster is bloated and has the same problem as WWE.

Hence guys like Johnny Gargano, Ciampa, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Melo do not get over even when they are pushed, as crowd do not connect with em.
      Bron Brekker, KO, Zayn, Gunther, Daniel Bryan and Ilja Dragonov are few exceptions who have mainstream appeal because they stand out.

    • @VanezBane
      @VanezBane Před měsícem

      @@jeffmendez02 well i'd say WWE is pretty much to blame for that, the main roster barely talks about NXT unless it is to promote the next PLE. on NXT they show clips of what happened on the main roster so you tune in, but not vice versa. casual fans oftentimes simply don't know who these people are. thats totally on WWE.
      and yeah getting over is a fickle thing. but Dijak did not even get the chance this time on the main roster to get over in the first place. like a said, bloated roaster makes it hard to showcase all the talent. it's just a pity because he is a great worker.

He was not lucky like Priest to be on top Faction nor he had the personality like LA Knight to get over. WWE bringing him up on main roster without a plan was a bad idea.
      But its fair that his contract expired and he was not released in middle of a storyline unlike Mustafa Ali who got released after getting featured for NA Title now that's WWE fault and the talent has right to unhappy with WWE. But everyone has their own opinion.

It's the fact that WWE made the concerted effort to call him up through the draft and then let him sit out with seemingly no storylines ready for him to try and get over on the main roster. Whether they were planning on letting him go regardless or not, they could have just let him work the remainder of his contract on NXT at the very least.

    • @jeffmendez02
      @jeffmendez02 Před měsícem +1

      I will tell you why, three points.
      1)With Vince the the booking was horrendous from top to bottom with few exceptions, so fans were quick to jump in conclusion that WWE didn't utilise them properly but most stars who got released in Vince regime never had a successful career and in a way proved Vince right and IWC wrong.
      2) With HHH is different, the product is better overall and the owner of the company is different, yes the fans have biases here and there. But most fans are now well aware about the ratings and they know that not everyone is meant to be on TV. Most of the talents HHH rehired who were released in Vince regime aren't getting over, which was rude awakening for HHH, thus he doesn't push some of the wrestlers that were over in NXT to hardcore fans, as they don't have mainstream appeal. Dijak is not someone like Wyatt who was super over with masses.
      3) And WWE didn't released Dijak, his contract expired and they chose not to renew. So its a fair play on their part. It's a business so at the end of the day their will be hirings, firings and non-renewal of contracts. Him getting drafted was questionable decision as the draft was poorly executed. But over-all no point debating WWE books to appeals casuals not just hardcores. Dijak is better off in TNA or MLW, instead of ending up like Karrion Kross who gets zero reaction and ending up getting 50/50 booking

      @@jeffmendez02 The best moments in wrestling history happened under Vince... spare me the "booking was horrendus" bs. You people are just trend chasers and right now the trend is to hate Vince no matter what, and even though he deserves some of the hate, most of it is undeserved. Like claiming that the booking was horrendus under Vince when the guy has literally 3 and a half decades of legendary content that pretty much solidified pro wrestling as top entertainment and a cultural movement. Vince's vision did that...

      @@oldmanjesus9855 Vince McMahon Ruthless Agression Era and Attitude Era was one of the best, he made wrestling mainstream that's facts.
      But if you tell me his booking from 2008-2022 was not horrendous than that's absolute denial. His booking declined and he was not no longer appealing to most casuals and hardcores and got lazy. This is the same guy who started bringing up Zombies in wrestling. He was right with most the releases he made back in the day, but it's also facts that WWE declined during his PG Era. Hating Vince ain't a trend, his PG Era bs and his controversies is what led to his end.

    • @oldmanjesus9855
      @oldmanjesus9855 Před měsícem +1

      @@jeffmendez02 going PG was what prevented the WWE from shutting down, they woudn't get solid tv positioning without going PG, if you think Vince wanted any of that for his company you are the one in denial. Want to blame somebody? Blame bored suburban housewives too lazy to raise their kids so they forced TV programs to mind their undisciplined and easy to impress children when delivering content. Had Vince refused to go PG we would probably be discussing how WWE went under because Vince didn't adapt to more tamed times. And keep in mind that the PG era is the most profitable era the WWE has ever been. so even with all that Vince's decisions kept the business rolling in money.
      About the booking since 2008, we've had the nexus, cm punk, The shield, Daniel Brian, The wyatt family, not to mention countess solidified legends already in the main rosters. Of course there isn't enough time to book all the talent for each show and things could've always been better, but to call it horrendus since then, when we've got countless icons as shown above, is just ridiculous. The hate Vince gets is 100% exageratted and fruit of trend chasing more than actual bad wwe moments.

      He shouldn't be used as enhancement talent. The reason most over their careers were jobbers, was because they couldn't really wrestle. At any level were they stars. I mean small regional promotions they lost. No one paid to see them. Ricochet...I'm not saying World title, but he was a draw on the indies and is really good in the ring, his size and okay mic skills is what hurts him with the fans at a large level, which turns him into essentially a jobber.

And WWE ratings are no where near bad. They have went up and down over the last few years. But, they haven't tanked. Some people are talking about the drop off recently, but that was the Rock boost and him leaving, didn't drop ratings to danger levels. The numbers aren't the same as they were during the Attitude Era, but they weren't after the Attitude Era. And television is selling out every week almost and the attendance is up in the arenas. people are enjoying WWE, because it actually has continuous story telling and better endings.
