This video made me cry. I've lost my hair due to chemo and have been adamant about not getting a wig. But, when I saw how beautiful she looked with it on, I realized I have some emotional issues to deal with over this whole cancer that go beyond the loss of my hair. I am rethinking getting a wig now. glad to hear yvette is doing well-she was so brave to do this video! esp when she said she wasn't feeling brave enough to go out bare headed yet! love how the Cristi wig looks on her eep-very youthful despite being gray. am interested in this one myself, but it seems like the bang is different on yvettes than on current video on web site. do you recall if she cut the bang or not, or is it just tucking it behind her ears that changes the look. Am between the peggy and the cristi also in the silver stone color which matches my own--only better! love the bangs too for when you don't feel up to wearing a full wig-which often is the case while doing chemo treatments. Great idea and looks great!

Not always true about chemo working as I lost all my hair and the chemo spread My cancer . . But the video is good along the wig fitting hun .I was the same I always pinned abit at the sides with wee braids or twists to make it not look like a wig .. as this is the last thing u want at that scary time...there isn't enough help out there to help others . I'm a hairdresser and now going into wig fitting and styling/cutting .to help others ...ur doing a good job hun x

I’ll start chemo in a week and I hate it when people says to me it’s just hair and it will come back whenever I tell them I’m worried about the impact of losing hair to my mental health. As if my worry is not valid.

Take notes on the styles and colors that you may like. Then, go to the website and find the wigs you may like by clicking on "Short", "Medium" or "Long". When you see a style that's on your list, click on it. There you will see a short video all about that wig, happy client reviews on that wig and also the area in the middle that says "Choose A Color". It's there that you will see all the colors that come in that wig. Some styles come in different sizes, but all come in average and can be tightened or loosened. Some styles come with or without "Roots". Make sure to confirm by reading the heading for each wig.

I wish I knew about these realistic wigs when my mother was going through this in the early 2000's. We went to a wig shop and ended up leaving with nothing. It was absolutely horrible and depressing. We truly were laughing and crying at the same time when we left there, because we couldnt believe the inventory. My mom was a young 58, and all the wigs were like for old ladies. It was bad. I watch these videos and I know I would have bought my mother a few of these. I even know exactly which ones she would have wanted and the colors. Its a shame. Wish I could go back in time. My mom passed in 2013. Not of the stage 4 lung cancer that she remarkably survived, but from the COPD that she was left with from the effects of chemo. Sad, sad, sad!
Hi Sleek, I understand exactly what you're writing about. A big reason I decided to start GSW was that my mother-in-law was going thru chemo and the wig store owner yelled at her when some of her hair fell onto the carpet. She stopped socializing and it was so very sad that it motivated me to show wigs in a healthy, more empowering way with lots of TLC and respect. thanks for watching!

How does the wig stay on?
Hello Shera! With the right size wig, they do well without any added adjustments but if you're wanting that extra security, I highly recommend the Wig Grip Band. It's a newer product so Yvette wasn't able to demonstrate it in this video since it's an older video. But our clients now, love the Wig Grip Band and it's really just an easier way to have the wig on snug without added time of using glue or tape.
