130R has to be one of the worst corners to have a crash at in the world. Although its amazing they can walk away from such a massive crash like this, relatively unharmed (although Sasahara does have a concussion).
That and eu rouge
Racing is like dancing. You can race only against someone that you trust. Hamilton was able to pass Alonso at 130R only because the dancers knew how to dance.
130 R one of the worst corners to overtake
Probably one of the worst accidents I’ve ever seen that didn’t result in a serious injury. Absolutely terrifying.
Wow. On the other side of that fence is the approach to the first degnar. Scary.
That's where the green car landed
I’m not sure what’s crazier, that the crash was so hard that a car split in half on the catch fence and sent the half with the driver to a different sector of the circuit, or that it only resulted in a concussion!
he played to much mariokart i guess
It reminds me a bit of the accident between Irvine and Burti at Spa in 2001, well, at least the way it started.
Burti wanted to kill him afterwards.
Not even remotely close to being similar
@@apexkilla The initial phase where they are side by side does look very similar, but the rest isn't
Sasahara actually went over the fence with the monocoque.
one of the cars flew OVER the fricking fence
I was lucky enough to be at Suzuka that day for the race. Let me tell you, when that replay showed on the screens, the entire crowd gasped in horror.
Dio bestia! Did Sasahara go right through the fucking guardrail behind the absorbing barriers?
He's actually went over the catchfence and landed near Degner corner
Mi è piaciuto il Dio bestia! 😂😂
Il bestemmione sempre necessario hahahaha
Amazing camerawork 🤷🏻♂️
Chassis (bathtub) and driver went over the fence landed on the lower part at the other side of the circuit
nasty crash with a good outcome in that there was no serious injury to either driver. Just another crash that shows you do not want to crash at 130R
Is there any other angles
Is everyone ok ? 😟
Both drivers seem to be fine. They are supposed to have had a thorough physical examination at the hospital.
Sasahara was diagnosed with a concussion and will miss the rest of the weekend
Sasahara (green car) only had a concussion
Na mo a mi tuo fu
Grande Dallara!
How do we only get 1 angle?
I'm sorry, but are techpro barriers and blanketed tire barriers exclusive to F1? That wall looks a lot different than in an F1 race
There is a tire barrier, but they are painted white, take another look at the footage. The tech pro does seem to be missing here though
This is Super Formula
@@Suzuka-sF1Otakuyes, that's why he was asking if the security measures were exclusive to F1 (as they are different here) . In this case it appears whoever runs the event has decided against using tecpro, probably due to cost
@@morgenanspyrys yeah for some reason I only saw them in Suzuka, but before the tire barrier there are boxes, that look like they are made of some kind of foam. But during the F1 weekend those Foam Boxes are replaced by tecpro barriers, if my memory serves me correctly.
I think even they wouldn't have stopped this since it looks like he'd gone over the barrier anyway, you can see in the slow motion shot that his car is already starting to get airbourne before the gravel and when the white car hits the barrier it's nowhere near as bad as it would be otherwise
Damm that was a close call emidiatly makes me remember the crash grosejean had in 2021.
Hope they are both ok but i doubt they have no injurys.
Maybe wrong time to ask but where can i watch super formula is that also on zigo ?
The green car just acted as if the other car wasn't there.... bad driving.
same corner that mcnish smashed over the barrier on f1 2003 or 04.
It was in 2002.
Those are some weak ass barriers
Is there another angle of that crash? It’s hard to see what happened to the first car

no other angles exist, but what we do know is sasahara's car flew over the fence and landed at degner, sidepods sheared off the car too.
Good thing the halo is still there
Bit harsh to extradite Sasahara...
I already get scared when i have a crash at this corner on a sim game.
Same as blanchimont by the way
When people glorify Alonso's overtake there on Schumacher in 2005,remember that, if the German didn't broke down, instead of an overtake there would've probably been a crash like this one.
The big question where is the other half of the car???
Behind the barrier near the Degner corner below
rip
Good runoff design and car safety design...this would have been a death only 10 years ago
Let's all take a moment to appreciate all the people involved with motor sport safety, not long ago this crash would have most likely resulted in a death but the fact that the drivers can walk away after is thanks to the hard work of the designers behind these safety measures.
The only way you can go round the outside at 130r is if AT LEAST half of your car is ahead of the car you are trying to overtake BEFORE you start to turn. Thats exactly how Alonso and countless others have done it because the driver on the inside has to keep a tight line and early apex. This guy just expected the guy on the inside to vanish. Very silly. The drop on the other side of the barriers to Denger is about 5m. That guy is lucky he is still alive and walking.
Ahh I see he did a pewist midfieldton move
Y SOBRETODO LA ESCAPATORIA TENDRIA QUE SER TODA DE GRAVA ESQUE TIENE UN TROZO DE ASFALTO
As someone who has been to Suzuka twice so far I have to say it's an incredibly dangerous circuit overall. 130r runoff area is sparse. Amazing historical place though.
Who was at fault in this??
Green car, turned in like the white car wasn't there
This one and a Super GT crash a few months ago, 130R can cause huge accidents. Unlike Eau Rouge in Spa, no one is calling for a modification to 130R. This just shows the bias people have against Eau Rouge
:O
The guy just turned in to the other driver without a care in the world.
Should be penalize for it.
Bro thought he is Fernando Alonso
And all he suffered was a concussion. We take that as if it was nothing, we should not act this way.
130R is merciless...
what kindof an idiotic move is that? closing the door on a dude fully has the apex covered?
Bro believed he was Alonso.
It's hard to be Alonso
Green car turned in too early.
抜けないのに触ってクラッシュ。本当にプロ?
This is unbelievable. This is a 2nd crash this year when both cars flipped. In Motegi, Makino and Sekiguchi flipped over Lawson. I was thinking that crash will be the worst of the year. But i was very wrong. Now Sasahara and Otsu crashed out in 130R. Both flipped. This is a catastrophic season in 2023 Super Formula Series.
