Looks like the tool is designed to be used for advertising more then film making.
It'd be fantastic if there were options for Sun position, clouds, atmospherics and traffic, or even just an option to export the files needed to import in to a CG rendering app with those options.
This is just the beginning I think. Who knows where it will be used

Thank you for this Brett. Very helpful. Question for you. What is the biggest resolution you can download a video in from Google Earth ? Is there a way to get less compressed footage?
As far as I know its 1920 x 1080 and its mp4 so I dont think you can get uncompressed footage for now but I think as time goes on those features will probably be introduced and in 4k
