Been watching since Mazda Speed 3 and Focus ST days, and actually was influenced by your channel and daily drove a 2016 ST3 for 3 years. As of a few months ago I sold the ST and bought a B9 S5 Coupe. Looking forward to seeing the progress of this S4!
Definitely a fun and comfortable car to live with. First had an ‘18 S5 coupe in Tango Red and later on a ‘19 S4 in Quantum Gray. As Sean from 034 said, the water pump is a known weakness, as well as the oil filter housing leaking and rocker arm failures are things to look out for. The car is too quiet from factory in my opinion, but an AWE track exhaust really woke it up. No trumpet sounds like a VQ motor. Just deep and throaty. Enjoy!
I have a MK7 GTI, how do you like the S4 over the GTI? Mine is FBO, can run e85, vortex xl blah blah blah and haven’t really found anything that gets close to how much the GTI makes me feel.
@@marlanefitz9974 it’s great! My GTI was FBO with a Mabotech turbo custom tuned by Ed at EQT. The S4 is quite a bit faster, with a little more space, and the AWD is great. Honestly, I love both cars.
I also have a eqt stage 2 mk7.5 and stage 3 tte810 e85 s4! I like my gti more tbh. S4 is a great daily and fast as hell, but doesn’t give me the visceral driving experience like I thought it would
2013 b8.5. The supercharger screaming with aftermarket exhaust and intake is something special, and it pulls so quick off the line.. Plus lowered with carbon kit, I love it as much if not more than my m2. Also with 034 tune and dsg tune, it feels fantastic.. I will never sell the car. The only thing I hate was the MMI bluetooth and screen, but I upgraded to an aftermarket infotainment system. Recommendations for the build. The RS4 grill is for sure a must, and carbon fiber diffuser, and canards around the fog lights. It transforms the body sooo much.
@@MarcoTopG it’s been absolutely amazing. I haven’t had any issues, just spark plugs have to be super precise on gapping and you’re fine. I’m at 82k miles on my 2018 S4 now. Been stage 3 for 7ish months nos

@@MarcoTopG literally nothing extra to keep it reliably just normal maintenance on the car and run exactly what 034 says on their website. It’s a LOT but it’s damn good already from them. I switched to 5w40 oil and that’s really it and stayed on OEM coil packs and Brisk plugs just change the plugs regularly. Yeah I gap most things, AMG GTC/R’s a 570s, nothing really touches it besides fully built cars

This friend has been interested in the platform because of me lol. Much like Sean did to you I had been telling him about mine for awhile now and when he first rode in my B9 stage 3 car he was like holy shit haha. My B9 has since been totaled due to a head on collision but I now have a stage 3 B9.5. I'm local to 034 and have basically put every single part they have on both my cars. Whether you stick with stage 1 or take it all the way to stage 3 on ethanol you'll love the car, just an overall great platform. Congrats on the new whip!

Great choice. I have a B9 A4 full stage 2. Excited to see the build. PS this generation is restricted bad. Let it breathe with the tune. Front mount will help immediately even before stage 2. Cars get super hot as you know. Quattro power 🤘

Funny enough I was a Honda/subaru/mazda/rcsb kid for basically my whole life but I’ve always wanted a Particular Audi since I first saw them in the early 2000s. Finally found a nogaro b5s4 that’s already had hybrid ra6 turbos and on e85 making 450/475 and I couldn’t pass it up. People claimed they’re unreliable but it’s been more reliable than most of the cars I’ve ever owned. Been looking at getting into a newer b8.5/9 s4 or a used rs3 at this as well now. Maybe even an SQ5 and do fbos. The only thing I wish is Audi didn’t keep making their cars bigger and bigger. Putting a b5 next to a b8+ is a huge difference.

Currently have the b8.5 , had it for a lil over a year now and I still love it. I do have my eye on a b9 rs5 hopefully sometime in the future I’ll be able to own it
'18 S4 here with 034 Stage 1 E85/93 & Stage 2 TCU. Modded air box and some other intake upgrades. Wagner intercooler/pipes. Still love every minute in this car. Intercooler is a must. I would do it even stock. Yeah that 91 👎
I have friends that have the B9 and love it, I have an A6 Comp with the supercharger…and man the wine you get is not overpowering but oh is it fun to hear.
You got me looking more seriously at these. My wife seems to like it more than the MK* GOlf R's I've been eyballing too haha. Do you know the 2019 still have the rocker arm issues that the early model B9's had? Can't wait to see more S4 content man, sweet car!
What a nice car the S4 congrats! What i noticed is that it is equipped with Hankook S1 Evo tires, i had these tires on my Golf 7R and it made the car understeer way too much. I'm now using Yokohama Advan Sport V107 and the car is way better, less understeer and more grip in corners! Definitely get some better tires for curvy road driving
Hey Cameron my suggestions for your S4 upgrade your motor mounts and trans mount to 034 motor and trans mount, along with the transmission mount insert by 034 motor, also get the subframe bushings from 034 motorsports, get 034 motorsports or unitronic or apr cold air intake with sealed housing, upgrade the spark plugs to Brisk Racing silver spark plugs ER12YS, APR red ignition racing coils, red EBC front and rear brake pads, Throttle body spacer by AFE, CTS turbo aluminum charge pipes, upgraded front mount intercooler, catless downpipe or test pipe in place of the catalytic converter, army trim full custom titanium Quad exhaust, sprint booster throttle controller, lowering springs H&R, or coil overs, 25MM wheel spacers all the ways around, 034 motorsports high pressure fuel pump and low pressure fuel pump, 034 motorsports 034 motospots turbo muffler delete, and well as diverted valve delete and get a BoV by HKS or by forged motor, methanol injection by AEM, lastly get a staged 2 not stage,stage 2 ECU & TCU tune by 034 motorsports or unitronic are the best you should gain about 200-250 HP to the wheels with all these goodies
feedback from some b9 ownership experience: the exhaust sounds pretty crappy with MOST configurations, I challenge you to experiment and find something you enjoy on this one : ). the driving feel is a little disconnected, even with the sport pkg. the sport pkg does help tune out some of the understeer at least and makes it feel a lot better in the turns. its just one of those cars that are really capable and it sorts everything out for you no matter how poorly you execute on something.. which takes some of the excitement and passion out of it for me. it's very quick for what it is, and it puts down the power super well, it will surprise a lot of cars. the transmission is awesome and a big upgrade from the clunky dual clutch in the b8's and b8.5s. a comfortable, practical bruiser cruiser that can get down. I have a ct4v blackwing now and I have no doubt that even a stock b9 s4 would heckle me off the line or around town pretty well despite the power discrepancy, they are just efficient.
I've got a stock 2018 B9 S4 Wagon - way quicker than i thought it was going to be before buying....thinking about tuning now, it'd be dead quick after a tune. Exact same interior as the RS4 of the same gen too minus the 'R' on the seats (and some rev/boost stuff on the Audi MMI). Overall, an exceptional performance car and daily driver. Can't see any reason to upgrade to the RS4... maybe the new RS6 though due to size and presence on the road which I like the look of....
Detail looks really nice I'm going to try this stuff I use Ardex products they have a Miami shine it's a banana oil and it's really good wax I'm going to try that
Didn’t sound like you built boost on launch, make sure to hold brake for RPMs to go up and boost gauge to be high then let off, should be much quicker.
Hey cameron! I also picked up a B8.5 S5 the same day you uploaded this video a couple days ago. we also picked up our gtis at the same time a few years ago haha
It does mine has Apple carplay but for some reason my music off my phone it shows up on the screen but it just there's no there's no sound in it so you have to click off from Apple play and run through Bluetooth and you'll be able to play your music but you'll still be able to use the Bluetooth for your phone and calls like when you do with that is that the navigation for the map it's not going to show the area in or what you shut it off but it works fine you just got to go through the menu you got to you got to go through it you have to go your buddy probably knows what to do but you have to go to car and then you have to go to source and once you get into Source you're going to see where you have to set it up with your phone and that's how it works
You’re content help me make my decision to buy and modify my STI..now I’m looking at the S4/S5. For just running around town/minimal spirited drives how does the S4 compare to the STI? I’m kind of over the loud, big wing and manual life haha!

I always been an Audi and a BMW guy I had an 85 Quattro four-wheel drive it with a 5-speed and that thing was so much fun years ago and I had a an 86 M3 and I still have my 2005 M3 I just bought about 2 weeks ago a 2016 S4 Premium Plus it's like a navy blue with metallic and it's gorgeous the seats are all S4 it's got that ecoterra with the leather if I'm pronouncing it write the car is amazing like I said it was garage kept it was a one owner and he maintenance it very well it looks brand new and I have to say it's very fast I was driving it and comfort for a while and my son has the m-43 I to 2020 in that car is quick and my car is faster than his my buddy has an M3 as a 2016 and we raced I took them I couldn't believe I took them off the line and halfway down caught up to the eventually cuz he has 425 horsepower and he's got a performance air filter and but it kept up with it so I'm very excited so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the car I think I'm going to run Royal Purple cuz I run Royal Purple and all my cars and my body has a dino and we proved it you gained 15 horsepower by run Royal Purple in your engine I'm just going to probably just put a cane in air filter in it the ram doesn't really make that much of a difference in the top end I think the Box filters going to be better with the performance air filter the only thing I might do to it is get a tune I'm not sure yet but I just want something that's reliable I don't want to go crazy and break the engine
Before I bought my ST I was looking at a manual S4 with the twin turbo v6 it had a rebuilt title but I couldn’t get anyone to give me a loan for it so that fell through that was a sad day
True ownership experience right here. Second would be accidentally clicking the trunk button with the key in your pocket and walking out to find your trunk wide open.
I just sold it actually, I have been driving the GC8 finally and have a video almost done on it with a lot of progress that I will touch on why i sold that car. It was a hard choice to make

The thing about the S models is how well they hide their speed. It's truly scary.

I didn't even know that there was a special tool to remove those bolt caps. I always take them of with some needle nose pliers

Your car should have apple carplay starting in 2017 model years, you just have to get into the right MMI settings to enable it.
Bro look into the rocker arm issue and do them if need so cause it’s one hell of a job to do 2018 to 2019 depends the production date

You need intercooler, turbo inlet and new air intake but intercooler is must with stage 1
It does mine has Apple carplay but for some reason my music off my phone it shows up on the screen but it just there's no there's no sound in it so you have to click off from Apple play and run through Bluetooth and you'll be able to play your music but you'll still be able to use the Bluetooth for your phone and calls like when you do with that is that the navigation for the map it's not going to show the area in or what you shut it off but it works fine you just got to go through the menu you got to you got to go through it you have to go your buddy probably knows what to do but you have to go to car and then you have to go to source and once you get into Source you're going to see where you have to set it up with your phone and that's how it works

I always been an Audi and a BMW guy I had an 85 Quattro four-wheel drive it with a 5-speed and that thing was so much fun years ago and I had a an 86 M3 and I still have my 2005 M3 I just bought about 2 weeks ago a 2016 S4 Premium Plus it's like a navy blue with metallic and it's gorgeous the seats are all S4 it's got that ecoterra with the leather if I'm pronouncing it write the car is amazing like I said it was garage kept it was a one owner and he maintenance it very well it looks brand new and I have to say it's very fast I was driving it and comfort for a while and my son has the m-43 I to 2020 in that car is quick and my car is faster than his my buddy has an M3 as a 2016 and we raced I took them I couldn't believe I took them off the line and halfway down caught up to the eventually cuz he has 425 horsepower and he's got a performance air filter and but it kept up with it so I'm very excited so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the car I think I'm going to run Royal Purple cuz I run Royal Purple and all my cars and my body has a dino and we proved it you gained 15 horsepower by run Royal Purple in your engine I'm just going to probably just put a cane in air filter in it the ram doesn't really make that much of a difference in the top end I think the Box filters going to be better with the performance air filter the only thing I might do to it is get a tune I'm not sure yet but I just want something that's reliable I don't want to go crazy and break the engine
Before I bought my ST I was looking at a manual S4 with the twin turbo v6 it had a rebuilt title but I couldn’t get anyone to give me a loan for it so that fell through that was a sad day
