We are made in His image and likeness. We are becoming the fullness of Him. This will not be in time, but in eternity. We will always be creation and not the Creator. We will Be like Him in kindness, forgiveness, gentleness, love, joy, peace and patience. These things are the fullness of Him ; the Christ. His people on earth are in a process of sanctification where we choose this fullness. We will never outdo the Creator. ❤

For Mormons, it doesn't matter what the Bible says because they think it is corrupt. For them, it comes down to a feeling, a "burning in the bosom," which is entirely subjective. The Bible explicitly warns against this kind of subjectivity in Jeremiah 17:9, and Paul explicitly warned against a new/different "gospel" in Galatians 1:8-9. But since Mormons defer to their feeling instead of what God has said in the Bible, they disregard the Word of God. It's very sad and tragic.

The Hebrew word for god just means power. Anyone or anything that was given power over other people in the Bible was considered a power, or a god. That’s why the Lord is referred to as the Most high God or sometimes as the only god. He is the true source of power. That doesn’t mean he is the only one that can be considered a power. That’s because he gives his power to others and has a multi-seated throne according to Revelation . There’s no reason to mysticize the word God or to misrepresent what “Mormons”, or members of the Church of Jesus Christ, believe about them.

I was reading Psalms earlier and left with the impression that it was talking about people in position of power and authority i.e judges. I subscribe to that main view because of the overall context of the passage.
The passage talks about people who were not being just where it came to the wicked and the fatherless.
Who would have the role of one who deals with justice? A judge. And then the passage even ends with God saying he is THE judge above everyone else. So it's like here are these men with power to the extent that they're like gods but because of their evil, one day they'll be taken down several pegs and humbled like the rest of us.
Although the bit in the first verse talks about a divine council - I think we must remember this is in a book of poetry. It won't always be literal. I think it's simply metaphorical language to describe these powerful men as 'gods'.
Now, on the point about it possibly being angelic beings...I don't think that argument is strong enough because angels do not have authority to dole out justice on earth. Either they're demons rebelling against God until the Day of judgement or angels who are ministering spirits/messengers of God.
On the argument from Mormons et al about "little gods" or lesser gods - that's already debunked based on scripture in which God says he alone is God deserving of worship and glory. Oftentimes where "gods" are mentioned, its negative and usually refers to false man-made gods.

@camillewilliams3185 Camille, YES! You should do a video on how to rightly divide the word of God. I am agreeing with (almost) everything you said. I only propose that God is addressing the religious powers of the day like the Levitical priesthood that had authority of life and death over the people like a god. It is no coincidence that Jesus would bring up Ps 82 to the religious authority that wanted to stone Him to death.
~ John 10: 34-35; Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your law, ‘I said you are 'gods'?
If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),..."
This is Jesus revealing their hypocrisy telling them the scripture is calling you 'gods' and you want to stone me for saying I am the Son of God.
      Thank you and Look Up!

@Spaceman Spiff nailed it. Deut 32: 8-9 (dead sea scrolls reading) tells us that that nations (except Israel) were put over lesser elohim (sons of god) as a judgement for the Babel incident. The term elohim never refers to humans, it is always something disembodied. In psalm 82 they were being judged for their misconduct. That's why at the end of the psalm the writer is asking God to take back the nations. That begins at Pentecost. The 1 Cor passage is clearly speaking of future events and doesn't help us interpret Psalm 82. But it does tell us that God's plan for our future is to displace the corrupt sons of god. For most of my life I missed the context of deut 32 and psalm 82. When you do take a supernatural worldview of the old and new testament, it really makes a lot of things more clear.
Bottom line is these are interesting things to talk about, but they don't change the gospel or any major doctrine.

Jesus in jOhn 10 :24-36 clearly shows Jesus to be identifying himself as the promised mesiah and calls himself the Son of God, not God.

Human Judges or People of Authority who lived long periods of Time.
That is why it said "MIGHTY MEN WHICH WERE OF OLD," and "MEN OF RENOWN."
      Now lets use the dictionary.
MIGHTY - Someone who is very potent and powerful that has a lot of influence with leadership qualities.
OLD - having lived for a very long time. Remember that people back then use to live for hundreds of years
RENOWN - The condition of being known or talked about by many people; basically someone who is very famous.
GIANT - A person of exceptional talent or qualities; someone who is larger than life.
The Sons Of God were righteous men that walked in fellowship with God. The Daughters of Men were the ungodly and unjust women that the righteous men fell for because of their beauty.
1 Corinthians 15:33 says "Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners."
Basically it is saying that BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD MORALS, which is very true.
King Solomon was righteous, but when he got old, a lot of those wives and concubines turn him away from God. The samething happen with the Sons of God
Verse 3 made it clear that the scripture is talking about humanity when God said "My spirit shall not always strive with MAN, for that he also is flesh."
Verse 4 made it clear that Mighty Men and Giants existed before the Sons of God came into the Daughters of Men.
So Genesis 6:1-4 is really talking and Human beings, not angels. The Book Of Enoch came up with that false Angel theory.

God's eternity is present in each and every single one of us. Now, while on earth there are temporary rulers who govern imperfectly for a certain period of time the perfect realm in Heaven is being ruled perfectly and endlessly by God. Jesus came to show us how to live a life full of love by selflessly giving His life for us and with that besides the fact that He is God incarnated He also became the best mortal example of goodness. If on earth we vote for political leaders who try to falsely present themselves as good, how much more should we give not only our vote, but also our devotion to the one who represents goodness and love as a Heavenly ruler. The realm of darkness in the Bible is also described with properties of endlessnes but where suffering and and evilness rule eternally in absence of love. In Christ we are beloved children of God, outside of his love we become slaves of fear and unbelief. That is why the cross is eternal symbol of the price paid for our salvation from the enslavement of sin where fear is unescapeable. Therefore, have faith in Christ and rejoice for the good Shepard is coming back soon.

Hello. I disagree again with how you interpret these verses. In verse 5, the serpent claimed that good things would come from to God: their eyes would be opened and they shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. In verse 7 we discover their "eyes were opened" but they weren't blessed like they had anticipated. Unlike before, when they had healthy interactions with the Lord, now they feared Him. They were no longer clothed with Christ's righteousness. The Holy Spirit had been grieved by their disobedience and from them, them naked and afraid. Verse 22 continues with the tongue-in-cheek attitude of "congratulations on your new god status" and essentially saying "be careful what you wish for".

The problem with Christians (I am a Christian) is that they only want to read the Bible in English and assume that only the thought pattern that exists today is the same thought pattern in ancient culture. That’s one of the biggest problems with us Christians today and why many Christians fall away from the faith when going to seminary. Learn a bit of Hebrew and ancient culture and you won’t come away with ideas like the second choice is the better choice which would then really complicate your understanding of God.

So, I understand the governing aspect of "some" humans on earth having positions of authority that are god like (little g on purpose) but I think this interpretation comes up short of the full context. Jesus seems to be taking a broader perspective. He is pointing out what the Psalmist was saying that we are "all" little g gods (little elohims as the Psalmist says in the Hebrew). We are limited finite yet "autonomous" beings created by the uncreated infinite God (The "I AM"). We are not I AM status nor will we be ever. From Psalm 82:6, is not the author there speaking of ALL of humanity being "sons of God" in the image sense (little g god status), all of us, not just a few who have "judge" like authority? Jesus was claiming God status (or I AM status - see also John 8:58-59) in the "fleshly" sense in John 8, i.e.God coming down out of heaven and taking on human flesh and form (John 1:1,14). Jesus was claiming He had authority as THE “Son of God,” i.e. I AM status, fully on par with God and this is why they wanted to kill Him. If he had simply said, “I am a little g god like you” they would have agreed with Jesus. We are autonomous beings (little g gods), created in the Almighty's image (Gen 1:26-27), placed within the limitations and parameters of the physical and spiritual realities God has created for us on this earth (Gen 1:1). That’s why we need the big G God, the I AM, Jesus in the flesh to redeem us from our sin. Little g god status does nothing for us before a holy and righteous God who created us. Am I wrong?

If you understand the gods of the old testament are type 2+ (at least interstellar) ET Elohim that were responsible for hybridizing/genetically engineering the most advanced hominid about 250,000 years ago giving birth to the first Adamu from one of the goddesses wombs to create a workforce into a garden to altar delivery service. We do this like gods when we domesticate animals and adjust their genetics for our benefit. A direct example of this is that we are hybridizing our DNA with pigs, human-pig chimeras, to grow replacement organs for humans. Now with the latest starship launch yesterday we are seeing what it really means to be like the gods who travelled through space and lived tens of thousands of years according to ancient tablets. The father Jesus speaks of is the one true source, found from going within, that Paul describes as the source of the cosmos and everything in it, that in which we live and move and have our being and are all offspring: even the "gods".

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are achildren of the most High. 7 But ye shall adie like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, ajudge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
This is talking about all born again believers.
‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came-and Scripture cannot be broken- 36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world,
The KEY verse is verse 35.....If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came....
The word makes you a god. God is GOD (Capital G) We are small g. That means we are offsprings of God. We came out of God in Genesis. If we come out of Banana, we will be called banana. If we come out of God, we become god
john 1: The word incarnated became man. The word became flesh and dwelt among man.
Therefore to conclude the word is supposed to make us become god. Remember the word is Life and Spirit. When we meditate, read the word, it transforms us into the likeness and image of God. Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
So we also have the mind of christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ
We cannot defeat the devil in our flesh but when we operate as a god.

The word 'Elohim' simply means 'might one' or 'mighty ones'. So, the judges of Israel were mighty ones because they had the power to judge the people. The children of God when made immortal at Jesus' return will also be mighty ones, according to Ps 149:5-9 where judgement is again a feature. Jesus said that his father had committed all judgement unto him, which would make him a mighty one like those in Ps 82:6.
This didn't mean that Jesus was calling himself Almighty God as the Jews assumed, but rather that he was only the son of God as he admitted in Jo 10:36. When he said 'I and my father are one', he was referring to one in purpose rather than being equal with God. This is shown by what he says before this about the sheep, where both he and his father have the same control over them.

Oh, I think you missed the entire point of Jesus referencing Ps 82 to the religious authorities that wanted to have Him stoned to death. Psalm 82 is talking about the God given authority of the Levitical priesthood that had the power of life or death over the people, thus they were in essence little 'gods'. These priests had direct access to God's will through the Urim and Thummim but abused their authority.
Look at Jesus' rebuke of the religious authority here:
~ Matthew 23; “So you testify against yourselves, that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the 'GUILT OF YOUR FATHERS'. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?
    Now compare with
~ Psalm 82; "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked?
Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. Rescue the weak and needy.
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. They do not know, nor do they understand.
They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods,
And all of you are sons of the Most High nevertheless, you will die like men."
Even though Psalm 82 is written in poetic (song) form it still is important to note that angels are immortal and cannot die.
~ Zechariah 7; Then the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, say to all the people of the land and to the ''PRIESTS', ...Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another. But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears from hearing.

I believe that God, the creator of everything, is not the only God in heaven. He is the most important one. The divine council is in heaven and is made up of other gods. They are of the spiritual beings and not man. They were given domain over mankind after the tower of Babble. Our creator God will take over these lessor gods and judge them in the future. They will all fall with the evil angels into hell. Being immortals, they will not die like us humans but suffer like all evil godly beings. The God that we worship today is a merciful God and not the demanding one of the Old Testament. This war that is going on is not of flesh and bones but of spiritual being in heaven. He will make judgment over all heaven and earth. That is why we will have a new heaven and earth. The old must go to make true the new heaven and earth.
