SO underrated! INCREDIBLE band.
With Peel sessions being released by lables other than Strange Fruit to this day, it's a crime that this one was never released. Would make a lovely 10" together with the Kershaw session.

Just love this band ... first came across them when captain sensible chose smashing time in his top ten records on radio 1 sometime in the eighties.. and it's still one of my all time favourite records .. and this peel session is stunning..
Bought that single when it came out & b.side King & Country is brilliant aswell

They were brilliant band & he had a great voice.

some songs are like diamonds in the dust, yet others are like the dust itself. I missed the 100 gig but was there at ground zero back in 80'.Dan is still alive- gotta get some juice out of him somehow. when the PIPER appears is its glory then there will be a new nest for Treacy to continue his conversation with the world! The candy floss thing crashed and burned when Dan took Mike's money and disappeared.
Great band my fave by these is still Smashing Time(not on this) such an underrated band.
Awesome Band! & Peel Session! Im not very familiar with Television Personalities from the U.K? Or Manchester London? Unfortunately? However? I really like this Band! & Peel Session! I've heard this Band before many times back in the 1980's & they slipped past my radar for some reason? Do they have any more Peel Sessions? Peel Session Albums? Or CD Singles Collections? I should look for? & purchase to add to my Record & CD Collection?

Brilliant session and only one what a shame there should have been more.
I think Peel was expecting something different, despite being an early champion of the band.

All their studio-versions sound sterilized to me.
I know dan was really hurt when they weren't offered a second session.He thought Peel disapproved of them "growing up".
peel could be fickle always trying to find a new pet
ah! but there was another session for Andy Kershaw's Radio One programme in about 1988.
