- Reservoir fishing for trout in the UK isn't my usual type of fishing, but sometimes catching stocked mindless trout can be a hell of a lot of fun!
I had some worms left over from a prior trip and thought we'd give them ago. We opted for a drop shot technique which the trout couldn't hit quickly enough! Is catching trout with worms cheating? To some people yes, but for bit of fun and too show a pal a new method of fishing was great fun.
Pretty miserable day I have to admit, so apologies if the camera angles and quality aren't the finest! Nevertheless this has to be the easiest way to catch trout and is an easy way to fish too, hope you enjoy folks and tight lines :)

Some nice trout there , can't beat a wild brownie in those upland waters . Trench foot ? - I got that in the Falklands , how do you get trench foot ? - by only digging down 12 inches :) .
It’s a nice place when it’s nice but grim when it’s not . Went up there in early April with a couple of mates and the bfs gear and it was a struggle , the car was showing -3 when we got there and it didn’t start warming up till nearly dinner time . I managed 1 rainbow on a duo ryuki spearhead from that inlet and my mates blanked as did the others we spoke to on the way off .
Tell you that for free! Think I’d rather the -3 then rain 24:7!! Actually I take that back 😂! Can imagine it was tough, get back up in the summer sure you’ll smash some decent perch - they’re in there for sure 🤙🏻

Drop shot rig and a worm on the end! 3G weight at the bottom with a hook in the fluro! Using 12ib fluro 🤗
