In this video I'm testing chopper levels 1-7 in my basement, I'm sorry I muted it. Finally got around to testing all chopper levels. The end of the video shows how I set it up, so watch until the end if you're interested. - Věda a technologie
I like it when he takes the towel out. Sound: PBWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
LMAO!!!!
Lorin Hatch 👍👍👍👍👍👍
So right 😂
Lol
4:58
*at the bar* so what do you have in your basement?
Friend 1: oh i got this SWEET man cave, pool tables, game setups, its awesome!
Friend 2: nothing special, just a 48 inch TV and some weight training equipment...
You: I......I have a fucking thunderbolt siren....
Friend 1 and 2: WTF I thought you were quiet kid, no turns out your louder than jet plane
Where was this video all my life? LOL Seriously though, for years I've been trying to listen to Thunderbolts at all chopper levels, it's wonderful to have them all in one place. Thanks for doing this! :)
I totally agree with you!!!
Don't try and use this video to learn chopper levels! Because it has no blower, the pitch is higher than normal thus not accurate.
chopper level 2 sounds like a Carter air raid siren
0:51
Agreed
ikr was about to comment that
@@scootf243 me too
Sounds like it
I like how you made a larger gauge of wire with the extension cords that go to the 20 amp switch.
Nice work on repurposing the cords & so on. Good to see that creativity is still alive.
4:57 The 666l V10 Hemi getting rid of the excess loudness after a muffler.
Jake brake you mean?
breh. a towel right?
I like chopper level 3 the best, but for high/low on the 1003 I like chopper level 4.
agree
@7:10 "20 amps at 220 really cant kill you" Yes it can.
It is said that 8mA will kill you. (Yes ok it has to go across your heart, but its considerably less than 20 Amps)
50 mA is deadly for everybody 8mA can be deadly if you have a weak hart 20 A you wil be roasted and for sure dead if they can find you back

No. If you have a weak heart

I never realized how gigantic these things are. I always saw them from far away, I thought they're as big as a megaphone.
I've noticed the same effect with stoplights. From far away they look like a toy, but stand next to one and they are basically the size of a person.
@@sorcerykid Streetlights too!
Perspective is a helluva drug
Never knew about setting 7. I like one the best.
Ivory coast
0:39-0:42 sounds like a winding down 2t22
4:57 HO-LEE CRAAAAP
Q: what does it sound like when you unmute a thunderbolt 1000t siren
A: BWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Like a baby crying
Setting 2 sounds like a British WWII siren (Carter, etc.) and setting 7 almost sounds like a Siratone. :)
It actually does sound realistic like the WWII siren
0:12 Chopper LV 1
0:51 Chopper LV 2
1:31 Chopper LV 3
2:12 Chopper LV 4
2:52 Chopper LV 5
3:33 Chopper LV 6
4:16 Chopper LV 7
5:06 4:58 Chopper test growl
Nice demonstration and nice work with getting the cords to carry the load that you want. Is that a tube guitar amplifier in the background?
Thunderbolt levels:
Setting 1: lowest pitch
Setting 2: lower pitch
Setting 3: low pitch
Setting 4: middle pitch of the group
Setting 5: high pitch (recommended)
Setting 6: higher pitch
Setting 7: highest pitch ( my favourite)
Setting 8: the growl
Chopper level 4 is the best out of all.
I agree
for anyone who was around during WWI or WWII, level 2 has to be the scariest one (since it sounds like the carter air raid sirens)
I run my 1003 on 4. Love them Thunderbolts!
boulder89984 I love Thunderbolts too! Wish that I had a Thunderbolt!
Excellent video. Kudos
Umm where could I get one of those?
African thunderbolts could have eaten that shirt
People like should gtfo
this thunderbolt is eating it XD
Do you know what RPM for chopper 3 is?
How did you get one of these?
what are the motor speeds for all 7 chopper levels
Offtopic but what font is that?
Where do you buy these
Yes, that is correct. Since the force of air through the chopper will slow it down, this is not representative of tone gradation in actual operation.
I love that sound
I finally found this again!

Adonde la puedo conseguir
@Siren1000T1
Yes. It even says on the chopper transformer try chopper level 5 before trying others, well that's not what it exactly says but you get it.
how much was this and you have teh blower?
I have a question can I eat this?
Awesome video! I subbed!
I like #2 and #7 as well #8.
There IS no chopper level 8 (-__-)
Oh, well never mind then...I guess I just like looking at it :p
2, 3, and 4 are my favorite speed settings
I was expecting 4:57 to be the siren being a 1003 retracting its solenoids. Edit: I was expecting the siren to be a 1003.
So you tell me someone could go sabotage a Thunderbolt 1000T and put it at Chopper 1 if they wanted?
4:16 sounds like a EOWS 612
how the hell is setting 5 recommended
What is the chopper though never understood is it like the blowing thing?
It is a large fan with precise blades that "chop" the air as it spins (If you have a house fan, turn it on at different speeds and speak into it. You're voice will modulate, and that same principal works on this mechanical siren). Different speeds of the chopper affect the tone of the sound out of the horn. The Federal Q siren that's widely used on fire apparatus works in the same way.
Wow nice thunderbolt
I think Level 5 is the standard factory setting.
Literally the neighbors:
Honey, the guy set off his siren again.
are we talking about sirens or parades?
At 4:57 when you pulled out that towel is sounded like a big rig jake breaking 😂
Ben Meyer omg god it does
OMG! That mighty Thunderbolt roar!!!
@garyhstorms10 no, the distance is the same. its just the frequency. and when its a lower chopper level, it spreds a bigger beam of sound and when its higher, it creates a smaller beam of sound so learn your siren facts.
I'd say MarkSlimm is also an accomplished guitarist. There is a guitar amp in the background.
It sounds Different when you put stuff into this siren. When taken off, It Growls A Little Bit.
Setting 4 is what I would use. It has the best sound
I Still Can't Tell The Difference Between The Levels, Which I Have Been Trying To Figure Out.
its the amount of power the chopper gives
I have never known what these sirens are for, can you tell me?
I don't know if by now you've done independent research but these models were used for civil defense during the cold war. They were then reused as just general warning sirens (in the Midwest we use them for Tornado Warnings or other major bad weather). There are many others that serve the same purpose and now they are often refered to as warning sirens (or a apart of an ows, outdoor warning system). I hope this answers your question and then some!
@@mayaaleshire663 Fully answered my question if I still hadn't known by now. The comment is pretty old, and I've done some research by now. I find these to be pretty menacing, especially on chopper levels 2, 3, and 7.
The lower chopper level carries farther than the high chopper level
i like your thunderbolt siren
Where was this siren originally located
AllertorBoy somewhere
Somewhere in the USA
@@ThisHandleIsNotTaken. n I c e
What rpm is chopper level 2?
its a klaxon cs8
How is it still making noise with a towel stuffed into it and no blower?
OLD COMMENT.
The chopper
Edaan Friedman wow Edaan 😂
Old comment. Sorry for the stupidity.
Edaan Friedman Lol we had to start somewhere!
Yup.
0:51
u mean sounds like klaxon cs8
Setting 7 sounds like the ones in Amarillo
Setting 6 sounds like a 3T22.
The 2nd level sounds like an Escape at the highest tone
4:58, Thunderburp. X) haha nice vid. Wish I could do that with mine, I don't have an RCM or AR.
2810: Hey! What Do You Say?
@@sarahscartoonchannel7772 shut up
It takes around 25ma to cause serious damage including death this is why RCDs RCBOs are set at 30ma for additional protection against earth fault and electric shock They must disconnect with in 300ms at x1 and 40ms at x5 in testing stopping serious injury over this amount of current. Voltage is pressure amps is the flow of current it’s amps that kill not the voltage thought voltage can still cause injury.
T-tech Electrical services.
4:57 Jake brake
Austin's sounded like between 3-4, maybe the towels....
But....the higher the chopper level is, the higher the wind up/wind down is.
Level 3 and 4 sounds like a 3t22 or 2t22
setting 7 sounds like a modulator wail
Keep the towels in, you're annoying the neighbors! LoL 😂
You said that 20 Amperes at 250 V won't kill you, and that it only hurts. Trust me, it can kill you, it takes milliamperes across the heart to kill someone. 20 Amperes at 12 Volts can kill, even 20 Amperes at one. However, I didn't realize that the siren motor on these thunderbolts had variable speeds through voltage. Nicely done.
true it can killl you
@ amy collins
I'm in Kansas and most of their thunderbolts are level 5.
Yeah but they are removing them Emporia used to have a few now we have 2001s and mods
I've bet you've pissed off alot of neighbors testing that thing lol
I could see why you put some stuff in the horn to muffle the sound
Why is chopper level 5 recommended?
Most likely it has the greatest distance of sound travel.
No more test :(
After I posted my comment I saw yours. Thank goodness someone else agrees with me.
Setting 7 sounds like does 612 wail
4:15
*EOWS*
2:17 3t22
I love setting 3
4:58 bwaaaa
Love setting 4
Don't know if this has been asked before, but what would it sound like without the horn, lol :p
Probably less louder
Topeka, Kansas*
They all sound very similar.
You should have ran the chopper for at least 15-20 seconds for each level, so that we could have heard the exact pitch it peaked at.
The peak pitch without the blower is usually 4 semitones higher than with the blower running.
Good point I was just thinking the same thing.
Setting 3 sounds like a 3t22
Setting 9 Is So much Loud🤯🤯
The difference is the pitch and sound
They kinda sound like a 2t22.
do thunderbolt 1003 all chopper levels hi lo no blower
Why did you stuff a T-shirt into the projector?
Eli Burns I always wondered how the tbolt would sound like with no horn, lol
I'm sure there's videos.
Eli Burns Those kinds of videos would just be Chopper tests.
Nathan Andrew I thought that's what this was!
Eli Burns I'm talking about With no horn attached. To see what the chopper on the inside looks like.
Setting 3 sounds a bit like a 3T!
5/6 +5/6=10/12
Chopper #7 sounds like SiraTone in noon blast.
I believe Federal Signal did that on purpose
That's because he set it to do a growl test and he muffled the sound out with a towel.
Quentin Richards yeah it does!! Hahah! I have 4 by me so yeah it does.
It sound like a 3T22
Does Anyone have any Of the New Homeland Security Audiable System 's Installed & Tested in Your Area '
Nope, our tornado sirens are in perfect condition.
You can take off the rag. It's very good.
3 and up are the best
Nearly sounds like an XT22
